Hey guys, so far got hotels and dining reservations booked. Looking at southwest right now which is going to be 767 dollars for two people round trip. Is there any other airlines/website that I should research? I looked on Southwest website and it seems that this is the best price I can get for Sept 2012. Should I just take it or keep trying to find another price?

American has/had some $219 round trip, nonstop LAXMCO fares earlier this week. Not sure if still available.

I like to use the search at www.kayak.com to find the best prices on flights. They quickly check most major airlines and you can search by specific dates or a date range. Some, such as Southwest do not show up there though.

Thanks for your help! I tried AAA too but the Southwest airlines beat out most of the websites. So I guess for now, I'll stick to Southwest.

If price is the most important thing to you, you could try priceline.com's name your own price for airfare. You don't get to choose your flight times (they could be departing anytime between 6AM and 10 PM) and you may not get (probably won't get) direct flights, but you might be able to score a good fare. You pick the price you are willing to pay and you either get it or you don't.

I don't like the unknowns involved generally so I avoid it. You won't know the airline or flight info until your bid is accepted and once it is you've bought it and you can't get a refund so if you don't like the flight times -- too bad. If you have to cancel your trip -- too bad -- you bought it and can't get a refund. But, if price is the most important thing to you and you can live with whatever flight times they give you then this might be worth considering. If you go this route make sure to click on the "Name your own price" button and choose a price you like to bid. It's probably best to bid a little low at first because if you don't get it you can try again with a higher bid after some waiting period.

Using google.com/flights I was able to get it down to $351 pp (and fridays are not good for finding cheap flights) from LAX to MCO round trip through denver on frontier, for 7 days, but it depends heavily on the days you are flying. I used the calendar to pull the # of days in and out and to change the length of trip since your question wasn't very specific.

Thanks for all the help. I actually found a website called onetravel and it knoced my ticket prices down 140 dollars. So instead of 765 i got my tix for 620. thanks again guys!

:) Congrats.:thumbsup2 I bought ours for Oct last night on the SW site. They were $303 pp, rt, non stop out of New Orleans. Cheapest by far, we will see.
