Costco Codes

I am having terrible luck finding any good deals for early June 2012 MCO car rentals. Part of the problem (I think) is that we need 2 minivans. I also understand I am probably looking too early for the really good deals.

However, I am worried about waiting until last minute to have *any* reservation. Am I right to be worried? So, I should book something now, right? Something that can be cancelled and re-booked when (if?!) rates go down?

The best deal I could find so far is a Costco code, although even that isn't great. But the problem is we are not Costco members. We don't even have a Costco here. I assume you have to show your card when you pick up the rental if you use that code?

I am having the same problem. We are renting at a Disney resort and returning in Fort Lauderdale. The one way rentals are expensive. I will probably use the Costco code as that seems to be the best price so far. I found that the SWA code is about the same as Costco....SWA 7015932. I also addes the coupon code given on the Costco site ad8221sdf. I think it is the entertainment coupon. I will either get a coupon from a friend or order our local book for 17.00 online.

Since you already admitted you don't have a Costco card, using a code specifically for Costco members wouldn't make sense, now would it?

You understand correctly. About 3 weeks out from your trip is when they start the major discounts.

Yes, if you absolutely need a minivan. If you can do with a smaller vehicle, or several smaller vehicles, I'd book one of those and hope minivans get discounted, but not plan on it. On my trip in October, I got great deals on a full-size, but minivans never got the steep discounts.

P.S. Costco is $55 a year and can be purchased online.

We do have 3 drivers, so for now I guess am going to go with the Wendie special with Budget and get 3 intermediate SUVs ($202 complete with taxes/fees each). It isn't ideal b/c families will have to break up to ensure we have an annual pass in each vehicle, we will spend more on gas and it will be tight in the back with carseats and other kiddos, but we can get all the vehicles we need for the same price as one minivan. And it can be cancelled anytime, so I will just keep looking for minivan discounts.

Thank you for the helpful advice.

I don't know your dates in June but I just tried Jun 9 - 16th with Budget using BCD x474200 (travelocity code) and E-Coupon MUGZ029 for $30 off. Total for minivan inc taxes after coupon is applied when return vehicle is $272.84. You can use this link to book.

Thanks so much for trying that.

June 2-9 using the same codes come up at $665!

I wonder why. :confused3

We are going from June 2nd - 12th. I've priced both Costco and Sixt. Sixt is a European company who recently set up shop in MCO. They have great customer reviews. Sixt was only $5 higher than Costco, but it looks like the prices have gone up (maybe they swing up & down). I put in your dates on the Sixt website for a Toyota Sienna minivan and the price is $523.46 if you pre-pay. I you pay upon arrival it's 549.06. I don't know if that's higher or lower than what you've been able to find.

Here's a link to the Sixt website: http://www.sixt.com/php/reservation/start?tab_identifier=1331865525&kdnr=9838652&pasw=sixt&ctyp=P&prpd=Y&lgrep=US&uci=7&ordn=SIXTMCO0212&tpi=5624&ppc=g_us_csporlando/sixt%20orlando&gclid=CJif29ux6q4CFSyhtgodbB9YKQ

Normally I wouldn't mind a shuttle, but our flight gets in close to midnight and we have several small children/babies in our group. That sounds like a recipe for disaster, especially since I was reading that Sixt is not exactly fast. :lol

Thanks for looking, though - around $500-600 is what I have been finding.
