AGLET – We're Gonna Tour The World Together! Updated 11/9!!!

A friend and I were JUST talking about the Red Velvet Cupcake yesterday! Neither of us have ever tried it so we were talking about how we had to try it this year.... And funnily enough, I had commented on how RED the cake is...I wonder if that IS why it's so bitter! :confused3 Interesting....Thanks for the review!

I agree with Glenn that your next stop is Muppets...I know you were itching to look for your Beaker hat....

I am still in the no picture zone (going out after work) so I can't see your pictures, but I DO love the GMR montage at the end. thank you for posting it. that was great.

So the red velvet cupcake was a bust. Wow. OK, well now I don't feel as bad since I've never had it. :rotfl:

Yeah for the cowboy side. I have only ridden that once. I want to take my nephews on this ride this summer.

Hahaha we never have been singled out there! The aisle seats seem to get the most attention (those are easier for the CM's to reach with the microphones), so you should be pretty safe towards the middle!
Thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2

Those chalk drawings on the TTC ferry boat dock are done by guests. I've only seen them done in the early morning when then first guests take the ferry to MK. We've left our mark a few times! :thumbsup2

Congrats for finally seeing the cowboy scene! You are getting a lot of firsts accomplished on this trip! :thumbsup2

I love that movie montage at the end of GMR. I always say I'm going to try to watch some of the classics like Casablanca but never do.

Are you sure you're not a food critic? ;)

So glad you finally got to see the Cowboy scene on the GMR :thumbsup2

Love that movie reel to...I'm always trying to say the titles or "I've seen it" in my head when watching it....Matt and I are working our way thru seeing all the movies that are in the depicted scenes :thumbsup2

I've always wondered if you can ask a CM to be a participant there. They seem to prefer to surprise people, but that would be cool if you could make a request!

I'm wondering if Meghan can ask, but it be a surprise to her dad. :thumbsup2 He would play it up very nicely, I have a feeling. ;)

At the CM directing people into lines, I asked if it was possible for us to go on the cowboy side.

"You sure can!" she directed us towards the front of the rows.

The CM came walking back towards us, all smiles and thumbs-ups. The cowboy side would be going live in a few moments! :yay:

I can't look at that photo without the "Hoooooooray for Hollywood" song starting up in my head.

We usually get the gangster, too. On our last run in January, Brooklynn and I got the cowboy. It had been a really long time since we'd gotten that side. I didn't know you could ask, so we'll have to do that if we go too long between cowboys again.

I'm with you on that sign - it is the perfect entrance for that ride!

I'm sad to read your review of that amazing looking cupcake! I had that thing built up in my mind to be the best cupcake ever (although, it will be hard to beat the peanut butter one) and it sounds kind of blah. The cheesecake sounds good, though! :cool1:

Yay for the cowboy scene! I love the Great Movie ride! I know I have seen the cowboy, but I can't remember if it was with my family or the first time I went to Disney with Brandon...either way, it was once, and it was a long time ago! :rotfl: Maybe we will request it this time!

I love the TTA. I think Tomorrowland might be my favorite part of MK simply because its the most like EPCOT, what with the model of the original EPCOT and all. I really, really, really wish that model were somewhere you could see it.

I was wondering how you two were going to be hungry enough for lunch at LTT after breakfast at CP. And now I know. :goodvibes

Don't quite get the cupcakes at Starring Rolls. Everyone made such a huge deal about them on the Dis and I just didn't think they were that great. Then again...I like very plain cupcakes with a good cake part. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about your dinner at Citrico's. We had a really great time there, so I hope it worked out well for you, too. :goodvibes

Yeah for taking pictures inside the GMR. :cool1: They are cool!

I know you said it wasn't the best, but that cupcake looks so darn good!

I've never had red velvet (cup)cake before, I often have negative reactions to food colouring so I'm a bit too unsure. I've never really wanted to try the ones at Starring Rolls because there's too much else good! Hahaha
Can't believe you got the cowboy scene! Soooo cool, even if it is mostly the same. I must ask next time.

It almost seems a travesty that something that looks as delicious as the red velvet cupcake would have a bitter taste in the cake part! :( I like the idea of the toffee bits on top, though.

I am a sucker for the movie montage at the end of the GMR, so I thoroughly enjoyed the video link you posted!

Yay for the cowboy scene! We've had that, but the last time we did was a while ago. We had the gangster this time. If I hadn't had it myself and didn't read about people here having the cowboy, I'd think it was a myth

I'm wondering if Meghan can ask, but it be a surprise to her dad. :thumbsup2 He would play it up very nicely, I have a feeling. ;)

What? My shy, delicate flower of a dad playing up being "that guy"? :rolleyes1 :rotfl: Monster's Inc. is definitely a must-do next time...it looks so cute and I would totally ask a CM how they pick "that guy" and tell them I have the perfect one in mind!

Great update!

Sorry you didn't like the Red Velvet Cupcake, maybe you got a bad batch?

Love the GMR! I haven't been on the Cowboy section for a long time.Great that you got to do the Cowboy one, I would have never thought to ask.

Ok, done reading about day one. Your writing style has me just cracking up!!! I can’t wait to read day 2!!popcorn::

So on to my comments (even if they are a bit late in the game)

Your flight... I sympathize with the early morning flight. When we go to WDW we often have to leave our home before the sun has began to rise. It makes for a very long day. Looks like your flight wasn’t too bad though... beautiful flying above the clouds.

Your arrival... OMG!! :rotfl2:seriously laughing at your description of wanting to get off like Wile E Coyote and then having Wingnut just sit.
The entire population of a small country is now filling the aisle of the bus
Doesn’t it feel that way, when all you want to do is get off the bus?!?! I mean DME nice as a ride as it is... the excitement of arriving at the resort it overwhelming!

Your room.... Yay for getting a room in the building you wanted! :woohoo: I simply love how the closet lights up!

Finding your way to the TTC... It sounded exhausting. I know the first time we stayed at POR, the cm kinda pointed us in the direction to our room and we went ALL over the place. It seemed like we walked for miles before finding our room. Turns out we took the long way.

The Mexican pavilion.... I too really love that. It seems to “take you away” a bit more than some of the others.

The school bread... YUM!!! I love that stuff. I hate having to share it.

The pork bun... Thanks for sharing the info on it. I think I can now safely take it off my “to do” list. ;)

China Pavillion... what a beautiful picture of the ceiling. I never have seen that. Next trip... i will have to look up!!

Captain EO... never have done. I thought it might be too scary for my young one... and too cheesy for my older ones.

The bathroom at Kidani Village.... I took a picture of the bathroom near Sanaa. It was very impressive.

Waiting and watching the animals at Kidani Village.... You got there at such a great time. When we went it was getting dark and we couldn’t see much after a very short time.

Sanaa... I find it to be such an impressive restaurant. The decor and food are just outstanding. When I went... I had a tummy ache though so I couldn’t enjoy my food as much. It is a lot of food too!!!

Getting back to your room.... Very impressive.

Hearing the booming from Wishes that first night... how exciting. I realize that you were tired and missed actually seeing the fireworks, but it is still cool you could hear them. And... I hope at some point in your trip you got to see them.

I'd wondered about that cupcake! It's sad that the actual cake part isn't that great; I really like red velvet and I've always found that simpler is better! Especially when mass-producing them. And you can't make a cupcake sandwich with those cupcakes, so I'm not even sure how I'd eat them! :lmao:

Yay for the cowboy side! I always forget to ask for the cowboy side. Honestly, I never pay attention to the skit because I like the sets better (I've had some BAD skippers), so I think a special cowboy car would be wasted on me.

Cute! So yall think some CMs did the chalk writing?

Second TR update I've read today with the Red Velvet cupcake! I'm surprised you weren't really loving it! I've only heard spectacular reviews until now. Maybe it was an off day? Either way, sorry you didn't really love it.

Yay for the Cowboy side! Haha very nice hint there. Gotta love the Muppets. :)

All caught up! :woohoo:

Day 2 comments...

The fog at MK that morning... Holy cow! :eek:I thought there was something on the lens at first. It almost looks like the castle is fading away. I am so glad it cleared and you got a better picture.

CP breakfast.... I recently had the poohs puffed french toast. OMG how amazing. It reminds me of something my grandmother made in huge batches (like huge in the sense that she sent them out to people in Rubbermaid containers...and not the casserole size:rolleyes:) She called them fry bread, but by no means was it truly what any one else anywhere else calls fry bread. Sadly, no one can recall how she made them. Imagine how delighted I was to finally enjoy them. Someone mentioned to me that they are really yummy with berries and whipped cream. I will be trying it that way on my next trip. And as for the breakfast lasagna! I didn’t know exactly what was in it, so thank you for pointing that out. All I cared about was how yummy it was. So what exactly is the breakfast pizza that Wingnut mentions? I too must have missed it.

The empty park... I just love the park like that. Getting that early morning ADR is so worth it just to get the experience of being in the park at that time. (course..the food there helps)

This is an amazing picture!!!

My dd attempted to pose in a similar fashion. I love it!

HM queue...I caught most of the interactive queue at HM, but sadly I did miss the poem and the brides ring. Thanks for pointing them out! I will have to look for them next trip.

POTC... ack on the flash photographer. I know how tempting it is... but it really does impact everyone on the ride...

The Tiki Room... I am so glad the cm told previous flasher to stop. And... don’t you love the return to almost original format? At least no more Zazu and Eago (sorry not sure on how their names are spelled)

IASM... oh.. not so fun when stuck on that ride.:scared:

Crowds... I believe you on the crowds. It was odd in December how the morning could have no one and then the park filled so full that walking to and fro became an experience NOT to be cherished.

Cancelling LTT... I don’t blame you. I can’t imagine having a big lunch after a buffet breakfast. I think I missed you noting that you had the deluxe dp... but I assume you did? I am wondering how the rest of the trip will go... hopefully you became a lot hungrier.

Red Velvet Cupcake at SR... I actually found this to be the only red velvet cake I have ever liked. Hmm... and usually I am really sensitive to the taste of food coloring. I wonder if the fact that dd and I shared it and we were eating it fast (toffee bits, frosting and cake) all at once helped. Actually, we must have at it super fast since I don’t remember the cheesecake part.

GMR... I too finally got to see the cowboy version. Now... correct me if I am wrong, but in the gangster version the explosion doesn’t happen..right? I thought it was super cool either way!!!

Muppets!

Thank you for the very thorough description of the red velvet cupcake. This is invaluable information! ::yes::

:thumbsup2

Haha no problem! I figured it was, of course!

The boats between Port Orleans and DTD play dixieland jazz when you're near Port Orleans French Quarter and then some kind of plunky banjo music as you get closer to Port Orleans Riverside. The transitions are so smooth you don't even notice when it changes, but it's really cool.

I didn't know that! That's really cool. I really really need to go on one of those boats one of these days. Especially en route to beignets!

I love that montage at the end of GMR !! It is the best part of the whole ride !! Bummer about the cupcake.

I agree!!! Yeah, that was a disappointing pastry!

Thank you...the red cupcake is now off my long list.:thumbsup2 It stinks when you finally get to try something that you've been dying to try & it's blahh!:sad2:

Hahaha there were definitely many other treats there that looked potentially much better! I had gone into this one knowing it had had bad reviews, but I just HAD to experience it for myself!

Hahaha it's a hot conversation topic lately!! I think that they just used a lot of food dye in this one, making it so bitter. The best red velvet cakes I've tried aren't really that red, they just have a teeny bit of food coloring in them.

:rotfl: You know me very well!!

I think Beaker should run for president. :rotfl:

I wonder what Sam Eagle would have to say about that...:lmao:

Yeah for the cowboy side. I have only ridden that once. I want to take my nephews on this ride this summer.

Haha no problem!! I love watching that, it's one of those things that instantly transports me to Disney!

Yeah, I'd say that one's pretty skippable, unfortunately!

I was so excited to finally see the elusive cowboy side!! GMR sounds like a great choice, especially for a nice air-conditioned break during the summer!

Thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2

Those chalk drawings on the TTC ferry boat dock are done by guests. I've only seen them done in the early morning when then first guests take the ferry to MK. We've left our mark a few times! :thumbsup2

I love that movie montage at the end of GMR. I always say I'm going to try to watch some of the classics like Casablanca but never do.

I didn't realize that! That's really cool! (And yes, I did tell Wingnut!)

Hahaha we did! I was very excited about it! :thumbsup2

I know this may get me banned from ever having a credible opinion ever again, but...well...I wasn't really a fan of Casablanca.

:duck:

Are you sure you're not a food critic? ;)

So glad you finally got to see the Cowboy scene on the GMR :thumbsup2

Love that movie reel to...I'm always trying to say the titles or "I've seen it" in my head when watching it....Matt and I are working our way thru seeing all the movies that are in the depicted scenes :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I'm sure!! I just love talking about food! (And probably too much!)

That's what I do too! That's a fun goal, I love remembering the movies during the brief clips.

I'm wondering if Meghan can ask, but it be a surprise to her dad. :thumbsup2 He would play it up very nicely, I have a feeling. ;)

I've asked for the cowboy side before, a few times actually, but it isn't always running. I seemed to have better luck asking in the afternoon than in the morning (and I think during busier times it would be more likely too!)

It really is! I love the whole loading area of the ride!

I'm sad to read your review of that amazing looking cupcake! I had that thing built up in my mind to be the best cupcake ever (although, it will be hard to beat the peanut butter one) and it sounds kind of blah. The cheesecake sounds good, though! :cool1:

The top half of the cupcake was very good! I'm sorry to ruin your cupcake dreams!

I was so happy to finally see it!! You can always ask, but I usually end up with the gangster scene, since the cowboy one doesn't run all the time.

I love the TTA. I think Tomorrowland might be my favorite part of MK simply because its the most like EPCOT, what with the model of the original EPCOT and all. I really, really, really wish that model were somewhere you could see it.

Tomorrowland and the TTA truly are wonderful, aren't they? They are very reminiscent of Epcot! I agree, the Progress City model is so hidden and rushed where it is!

Hahaha we definitely were not!

Agreed! I think they get talked about because of their epic size, but really, there's MUCH better snacks to be had!

Yeah for taking pictures inside the GMR. :cool1: They are cool!

I know you said it wasn't the best, but that cupcake looks so darn good!

Once we were on the cowboy side, I knew I had to at least TRY to get a picture!

It really does look good, doesn't it??
