I love reading your trip reports. You really should consider a job writing for a paper or magazine. Silly... I don't know, maybe that is your job. :rotfl2:

Anyway, you always take great photos and use wonderful descriptions when you write. I read your flight left from Ohio. I live near Cleveland and took a similar route through Toronto on a tiny plane (with my DS16 and my parents) in June when we went on our Med. cruise with Disney. Again, I want to express my admiration for you and your confidence traveling "on your own". I am a travel fanatic and hope I will feel that confident when my kids don't want to travel with me anymore. (DH likes to stay on US soil)

Looking forward to reading more of your report and living vicariously through you! :surfweb:

Wow, thanks, Angie_Ohio! :goodvibes No, my job has nothing to do with writing. I kind of wish it did, but I have absolutely no training in that area, so I can't imagine how I'd even start trying to do that! But thanks so much for the compliment!

I live just outside of Columbus. I've been traveling "on my own" for a while. I've always loved to travel and take photos (my father took us on tons of trips, and we each got a camera at age 10!) My friends & family all have their own families, and just can't or don't want to take the kind of trips I do. So it quickly came down to either I travel on my own, or don't travel at all. Tours like ABD are ideal for me, because even though I'm "on my own", I'm not alone! It's more fun and much safer that way. I think it takes a lot of courage to travel solo with kids. That's a lot of responsibility. I think if you can manage that, you can manage solo on your own!

I'm working on Part 7. Should be up soon!

Part 7?? I just found your trip report! I so enjoy your style of writing and your photography is top notch! :thumbsup2

The cathedral is stunning. I can only imagine even more so in person.

I went to England with my son's orchestra in 2006. Your pasty picture brought back fond memories. Ahh.

What a wonderful adventure you are on! I loved our ABD trip and would love to go on another some day. To also get an ABD escort to DL Paris - heaven :cloud9:

Thanks, tk! Yep, working on Part 7. It was a long trip. And a LOT of photos! ;) :thumbsup2

I really do love Winchester Cathedral. Heaven knows there's a lot of gorgeous Cathedrals in the UK, but I'm a little biased towards Winchester. :lovestruc

And yes, the pasties are delicious. It's probably a good thing I can't find a place around here that makes them!

This was a really spectacular trip, and the ABD extending to DLP was just the icing on the cake!
