Dream question: Connecting staterooms = Connecting veranda's?

Does anyone know if the connecting staterooms with veranda's have "connecting" verandas?

I have read that there will be a way to connect the verandahs. This has been variously reported as a "removable panel" and a "removable door." I guess we'll soon see exactly how it works!

Ditto....so far, we've "heard" that there will be a "door" in the verandah dividers that will be able to be opened so that adjoining rooms can share verandah space....BUT....the ones on the Magic and Wonder were also equipped to do this, but as years went on, most were painted over so many times that they wouldn't open, and some also seemed welded shut, while others, the room stewards simply said they wouldn't, or couldn't, open them.
I'm hoping they will on the Dream, but I'm not holding my breath.

It will be interesting to see from the other's posting if they will allow the balcony doors to be opened on the Dream. When we sailed on RCCL on the Navigator in Jan. with three connecting balcony cabins we were told that they were not allowed to remove/unlock the dividers so we could all have one large balcony. It's cetainly no fun leaning over the rail to talk to everyone else in your party on their blaconies. So, when I had a friend sail over Thanksgiving on Carnival with the same sceniro of three connecting cabins I had her check their policy on this and she said she had to go to guest services and one person from each stateroom had to be there with her to get them to open their dividers. They told her it was a security issue. Personally, I am not sure it's worth the hassel anymore of trying to get cabins together to just open up the balconies. Maybe DCL's Dream/ Fanatsy will be different.

I have been sailing with DCL since Day 1 and I never heard that the verandahs on the Magic/Wonder had the ability to connect at one time.

Ditto. I had a verandah cabin on the maiden voyage of the Magic and the arrangement then looked just like it does now. There is a solid panel at either end of the verandah that is bolted onto the ship. It was never a door and they were never moved.

Staterooms with verandahs that connect feature a partition that may be opened to create a larger shared balcony.

I found the thread below from almost a year ago. Can anyone verify the info on connecting verandas? Is this for all veranda rooms that connect? Or only for certain categories? Thanks in advance!

Bringing this one back to life.................Do ALL connecting rooms have connecting veranda's? Does the room have to be connecting in order for the veranda to also be a connecting? Do all the verandas that do connect have the type that is hinged like a door and open up half of the partition or do they have some that the whole partition between the two comes out?

Hi Cheryl!

I can't answer all your questions but I do know that non connecting staterooms CAN indeed have connecting verandahs. As far as I am aware, the only exception to this is on deck 10.

When we were on the Magic in 2008, we had connecting rooms AND connecting verandahs. We were in one bedroom suites aft. The verandahs connected made one HUGE outside space. It was heavenly. We're hoping our verandahs connect on the Fantasy, as well.

On Dream class all balconies open up except some corners and deck 10. ASFIK. On 10 every 5 or 6 cabins there is a solid structural membrane that doesn't open. It's difficult to see in photos. This is the deck where you will have connecting rooms but not balconies. Looking at the photos on 10 again, looks to me the heavy supports are every two cabins?

Anyway watch out for deck 10. Hey it's noisy anyway.

10060 and 10062 are connecting rooms on the dream.
The verandah's do NOT connect though.

They connect to the verandahs next to them though.

Verandah 10058 and 60 connect.
Verandah 10062 and 64 connect.
These rooms do NOT connect to one another.

Needless to say....we were disappointed and wish we had known this.
10060 and 62 also ONLY sleep 3.
There is no pull down berth or murphy bed in either of these rooms
