Am I forgetting anything....

OK I admit that I am over zealous when it comes to planning, especially Disney. We are staying off property for the first time. We rented a unit from VU at Wyndham BC. We are excited. Since I have never stayed off property before, I am afraid I am forgetting something. So I have the following completed:

Room rented and confirmations printed to take
Tickets purchased
Dining Reservations Made
Plans for the parks
No rental car needed because we are driving unfortunately
Ready to have fun

Is there something I am forgetting to do? Just wanted to double check with the experts who have stayed off property before.

Do you have a room with a kitchen? You could pack food items? We are flying and plan to hit a grocery store for breakfast and lunch items.

what is the difference between onsite and offsite beside needing to drive to the parks instead of using Disney's transportation? You need the same things basically whether you are onsite or offsite. What you take for onsite, take for offsite. ;) You may want to take a larger backpack to carry some items to the parks with you since you won't be taking as many breaks back at the room ...but that might be about it...

Thanks so far :goodvibes I guess I do not know the major differences between on-site and off-site, since this is my first time staying off site. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything because with on-site we show up, and are given a card with everything on it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't forgetting something obvious or any other recommendations for first time off-site. Yes, I have a kitchen. Since we are driving we do plan on going by the store for food and such. :goodvibes

I think transportation will be the main difference. You will need to add extra drive time. Traffic, traffic lights, parking, tram.

The other difference is that 24 hour Disney theming.

I think we get in the mindset that staying onsite is the only way you will have a great vacation. When we first started going to Disney we stayed offsite and had some great vacations. We have stayed onsite for years, anywhere from a Value, Deluxe and a DVC for the last 4 years! We are thinking on our next trip to stay offsite again to save money.

It's great that your driving, we always drive and we are able to bring so much more.

Have a great trip, your staying at a great resort!

Don't worry that much, just allow yourself some extra time for the travel to and from the parks.. you will have a great time. Think of all the extra money you will have at the end of your trip by staying offsite! You can put that towards your savings for your next trip :thumbsup2 Also one tip might help, you may want to bring a cooler, not sure about you, but I don't like paying their prices for drinks in the parks. Sometimes (since I usually have my cooler with me), I will put some frozen water bottles in it so I don't have to lug them around the parks, I will also put some snack in there too. When we park hop, we take the car and have our snack time too. It saves some money & there is nothing like ice cold water after getting into the car.. be it to park hop or going back to the resort you are staying at...:goodvibes

actually you are forgetting one thing... ME :rotfl2: you are forgetting to take me with you... :lmao:

Have a great time... while I am here not going.... :sad2: that is ok, I will be there on March 9th ....:upsidedow I just don't have a room booked yet
