We are going to be booking a vacation for January 2013. Our use year is in August. All of our points from August 2011 are already used.

We will need the points from August 2012 plus a few from August 2013 to book this vacation. (Booking for extended family vacation, we don't normally use this many points)

Since we are within the 11 month window, can I book at my home resort of SSR using points from both August 2012 and 2013 use years? Or will I need to wait for August 2012 to actually arrive?

But it does have to do with being able to borrow points, no?

No - you can borrow from the next Use Year based on the date of the reservation. In this case, the reservation will be during your 2012 Use Year so you can borrow from your 2013 Use Year - even though you are now in your 2011 Use Year.

Enjoy! :)

No it doesn't.

An easy way to look at it is to go by the reservation date. If the reservation occurs in your 2012 UY, you may borrow points from your next UY (2013) in order to complete the reservation.

Thank you :thumbsup2

That is what we were thinking but for some reason it just didn't make sense in my head, too much over thinking things :rolleyes1

That's a common question for new members. Many think the points "deposit" on the day the use year starts. That's not the case, your points for all years are in your account ready for use based on the date of stay.
