Help with Eurostar -- what should I do?

In the words of Penelope Pitstop 'Hel-up!' -- what do you think I should do?

I thought I was all sorted to book the Eurostar through Avios with my Tesco Clubcard vouchers .. converted my vouchers and checked today with Avios when my account will be credited .. they said up to 28 days! And then a further 28 days for the bonus points they are currently offering to hit my account. So I'm looking at a total of 56 days until I can book the Eurostar! :scared1:

Now I'm not going until October, but all I hear is availability gets less and less with every day and the less seats the higher the price for the ones left.

Oh wise fellow Disney fans as I've never used the Eurostar before my dilemma is do I sit tight and wait for my points to hit my Avios account and book in two months time (end of April - hoping there'll still be availability and not too pricey) or try and find the cash to pay for it outright direct with Eurostar? :confused3
I just dont know how quick seats sell .. I'd be going out on a Wednesday and back on the Friday.

You know when someone says 'there must be catch' well there it is!! 56 days!!!!

I rang up this morning to use my avios points, the price that they quote on the website is only a guide and it depends on availability. Using 24,500 avios points and getting a return from St P to DLP for 2 adults, 1 child was going to cost me £270!! Not the £140 as they say on their website! They couldn't guarantee a table for us to sit round either. We're now driving over!

Yeah cost depends on when are what time you want to go, I had to pay extra to go at 9.15am as the train was almost full, wheras the ones at 7 and 8 were around 25 less each way.

We did ask about going via Lille, but those dates aren't released until 3 months in advance, and with two young children, it was too much of a chance to take.

Yes I did notice their website says 'from'. They quoted me 26,500 Avios points for 2 adults return from St Pancras - DLP and the only time options I was offered was departing St Pancras 10.14 and departing DLP 18.02 (I guess it's the direct train). I didn't even ask about table availability -- it would be nice, a window too but as long as I'm facing forward I'm ok (get travel sick going backwards).

So do I wait the 56 days and book or book direct with Eurostar?

I converted some club card vouchers a few dad ago and they credited already so You should definitely get them sooner than 28 days. I'm still waiting on the top up avios though and they may well take a lot longer to come through.

On top of your points?! They are having a laugh!

I've just spoken to Eurostar direct and they can offer me 2 seats forward facing with table and window direct to DLP for £69 ea. -- they are saying it's the last two seats at that price as the live system changes every 3 minutes and so have frozen the seats and price for me until 7pm tonight. I'm sorely tempted to take them and see if I can spend the Avios points on something else! Trouble is it's starting to make what was initially a cheap couple of days away a tad more expensive! :headache:

You can use avios for dlp hotels and some offsite ones too as well as park tickets. Can Tesco refund the avios back to club card vouchers? Might be worth an ask.

DLP hotel already booked :guilty: Am pretty sure the clubcard vouchers are non-refundable but like you say doesn't hurt to ask.

Nope, put the order through on Friday and Tesco says it's too late, it's currently going through -- hey ho. Am sure I'll find something on Avios' website to spend the points on as think gonna book direct with Eurostar to be sure to get not only the best price but secured availability!
