Howdy!

Although we are WDW veterans, we are Disneyland novices (two prior trips: 1990 and 2008) and have a question concerning dining:

One can make ADR 60 days ahead of the date but what if you are an on-site guest? Can you make them ten additional days ahead of time, i.e., 70 days before?

Please advise.

Thanks.

All the best. :thumbsup2

No. You can make reservations 2 months (so sometimes 61 days) out.

Thanks so much for your quick reply.

Alas, we'll try our best to secure our first choices for dining at the appropriate time.

All the best. :thumbsup2

No worries. I have never NOT gotten what I wanted, even when we planned a spontaneous Thanksgiving trip a few years ago!

Don't stress about DLR dining. Its easy peasy.

The only time I have called on the 60 day mark was when I wanted a private room/special cake for a large anniversary party we were having.

Every other time we usually call from about 1 month-2 weeks in advance and they always have the time slots we want for our annual trips. Usually we travel in the fall during moderately busy season, but it worked just as well the trip that we went post-Christmas through New Years.

BTW, have you seen HydroGuy's guide to DLR for WDW vets?

I've been able to make reservations the day before for popular places (except Blue Bayou). Gosh, once we were at the hotel and decided to have lunch at Carnation Cafe. We called, made an ADR for in about half an hours time, which gave us time to walk from the hotel, into DL park. We got there, were seated straight away and there was a massive long line up in the stand by line. If only those people had headed to guest services and made a reservation, they could have walked right back and skipped the line :rotfl:

It's no where near as bad as WDW with dining reservations, probably because there isn't a dining plan like WDW. It's quite nice being able to work out your dining closer to your trip :goodvibes

Dining at DL is not the stress it is at WDW, from all I hear. We got walk in service at Minnie's at the Plaza on Christmas Eve with less than a five minute wait. I couldn't believe it. Especially since I had made all my reservations as soon as I could and still didn't get the exact times I wanted for a single one (it was Christmas week though) but all were within an hour of the time I wanted (except Napa Rose which does its own reservations and isn't on the 2 month restriction-sure wish I knew that then). Have fun, and don't stress!
