A little luck, lots of love, and plenty of magic...My Wedding and Disneymoon!NEW 3/15

Welcome!

Yay, I'm soo happy to hear that the rain stopped and you were able to have the wedding outside - your dress and the venue looks amazing!!

Thank you! It was perfect timing, too because after everyone gathered into the barn for the reception it started raining again. The weather really decided to work with us that day.

Joining in popcorn:: You looked beautiful, every inch the blushing bride. Congrats

Aww, thank you.

Congratulations :cool1:

Thanks, and Welcome!

Alright, it's about time for me to give another update. Sorry it has been awhile again. We just recently moved to a new apartment, and I just got connected back to the internet today.

So I'd like to share a little more about the wedding then I'll get on with the good Disney stuff.

Our ceremony went off without a hitch, and before we knew it we were officially husband and wife. Here are a few pictures from the ceremony.

After the ceremony, we all went to the barn for dinner, dancing, and fun with a photobooth.

Here is the stage where the wedding party and our parents sat.

This is our guest book tree. We had different colors of ink for people to dip their thumbs into. Then they would put an imprint onto the tree, like a leaf, and sign their name. We have it hanging in our living room now.

And of course here is the first dance, the father daughter dance, and the mother son dance.

Oh and here is one of my grandma and grandpa during the anniversary dance. They were the last ones standing because they have been married 61 years. I just think they look so adorable here. I hope my husband and I are still as in love as they are when we grow old.

So I mentioned there was a photo booth. Here are some hilarious pictures we took.

This is us with our photographers. You can tell they like to have fun.

As you can see, we had a good time acting like fools in the photo booth.

The reception was a lot of fun. I didn't care too much for the dj. We had to go with the one the Hayloft provided. But that wasn't a big deal at all because everyone was more interested in hanging out with each other and taking pictures in the photo booth than they were dancing. The day just went by sooo fast. So many people had told me that, but I didn't realized just how quick it was until after it was all over. I wish I would have had more time to talk more to people I don't see often, but I really can't complain much. The day just felt perfect. It was definitely the best day of my life so far. I can't wait to share those memories with our future children.

Now to finish off this post I'd like to show you some of my favorite pictures of me with my new husband.

Your wedding was so beautiful! I love the rustic theme! That tree guestbook is such a great idea! :thumbsup2 And your pictures are amazing, especially the last few!

I love the gazebo! You had a wonderfully themed wedding, love your reception space. I'm not much into dancing either, especially when there's fun things like photobooths around!

Congrats on the new apartment! I love moving to a new space but I hate the actual moving process. We painted a lot in our current apartment (with permission, it was really grungy in here) and I'm dreading the day when I have to paint over navy blue with white paint!

What a beautiful wedding and that barn was totally transformed. You guys did an amazing job. Love the photo booth pics, esp the one with the frame :goodvibes

It is lovely to see folks looking so happy

Aww thank you!

Thank you! I found the tree guestbook on etsy and just had to have one. I love that it's hanging in our living room so that we can see it everyday. I'm so pleased with how the photos turned out.

I do love our new place, but I sure do hate packing and unpacking. There's still stuff in boxes .

Thank you! After a year of planning, it was so nice to see it all finally come together. Like everyone warned me, it went by sooo fast though. I'm really glad we got a lot of good pictures and a good deal on the photobooth because it was the life of the party.

Okay finally time to move on to the Disney portion of the trip report. :woohoo:

So the next day after the wedding we were up early to get ready to head to the airport. Our flight was at 12:40pm so we wanted to leave by 9 to get to the airport that was 2 hours away. However, I had forgotten my camera at the salon the day before so we had to make a detour to get it since it was my only way of taking pictures on the honeymoon. This took almost an hour, so I was a little worried at this point. We were cutting it close, and to make matters worse, my friend who was driving us refuses to go a mile over the speed limit. Now I know speeding is illegal, but I totally would have paid for her ticket, haha.

So here's how the trip to the airport goes. It is almost 11:30 and we are still 20 mintues away from the airport :scared1:. Then the gas light comes on in my friend's rental car :scared1:. So we make the quickest gas station stop ever. She puts one gallon of gas in the car and we're back on track. We get to the airport and it's almost noon :scared1:. We hurry up and grab out luggage out of the car and say our quick goodbyes. Good thing curbside check-in was up and running. They got our bags checked quickly and printed our boarding passes for us. :yay: But then we realized Matt had forgotten his phone in my friend's car :scared1:. I called her and she came right back. Alright so now it's almost 15 after. We rush into the airport. The line for security was pretty long :scared1:. But wait, we look and see an empty line marked "flyers with one item" and we both only have one item :yay:. We breeze through security and get to the tram. One was waiting right there so we hop on :yay:. We get to the terminal and find our gate. It is like 12:30 at this point. They are just starting to board group B. Luckily I had done early bird check-in so we were boarding group A. We show the attendant our boarding passes and get right onto the plane. And the best part is that I got to have a window seat!:woohoo:

So that was my crazy first experience at an airport. What a way to start off the trip. I joked that the luck of the Irish was on my side now since I had just married into an Irish family. We were two for two now. No rain during our wedding ceremony and no missed flight :yay:

Alright, after boarding, the flight left pretty much on time. Flying for the first time was really cool. I loved staring out the window. The anticipation was getting to me even though the flight was only about 2 hours long . We got to fly over the ocean a little. I thought it was neat to look down and only see blue. Then soon we were landing in Orlando! Sorry I don't have any pictures from the flight. They are on a different memory card that I misplaced during the move.

So we arrive at the airport, and to my surprise I'm not in a huge hurry to get going. We were both hungry so we decided to grab a bite to eat. It was nice to see the inside of the airport since I had to rush through the last one . After eating, I was definitely ready to go find my magical bus to take me to the most magical place on earth. We got a little turned around (we should have paid more attention to the signs) but we eventually found the right place. Before we new it we were ready to board one of these.

P1050001.jpg

It was fun to ride the magical express bus. I liked the movie. It made me more excited. Then, soon we saw the iconic sign.

P1050002.jpg

We were the first resort to get dropped off. I didn't get a good picture of us pulling into Coronado Springs. I really didn't take too many pictures of the resort either, but most of you guys know what it looks like. I thought it was just beautiful.

We got in line to check-in. We did wait a bit, but we didn't mind. We didn't have anything planned for that night. The CM who checked us in was named Daniel. He was so nice and joked with us a little bit. It was a good first experience of the resort and the trip. I guess our reservation didn't mention that we were on our honeymoon so I hinted at it. Daniel was like "Well, I will be right back." It was about 5 minutes later and he came back with balloons and "Happily Ever After" buttons. Now we were on our way to our room. We got a really great room too! It was a king room in Casitas 3 on the bottom floor that had a view of the lake! Here is a picture I took of our view at sunrise the next morning.

P1050006.jpg

I put the balloons in our room window for a little decoration.

P1050013.jpg

I liked the location. It was close to bus stop 2 (the first one to be picked up) and close to the main building. It was further away from the pool but we didn't mind walking. I didn't think the resort was too big for us. I could see how people would think it was too big though, especially if they had little children in tow.

So now we get to the most uneventful part of my trip report . We didn't really have any plans for our first night, so we just took it really easy. Well part of the reason we didn't go anywhere was because our luggage took a while to arrive. It was about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. We just decided we would walk around the entire resort. We stopped to look at the pool area. Then we relaxed in a hammock for a while. We were just glad to be in such a beautiful place with each other and were looking forward to the next two weeks we would be spending having tons of fun together. After relaxing, we decided just to pick up some food from the pepper market and take it back to the room. I got a quesadilla which was huge and delicious and Matt got the Steak Rancheros which was also huge and yummy. (Sorry no food porn yet, but it is coming :)) There was a West Virginia University college football game on that night, and we are both alumni and wanted to watch it. We thought about heading over to EPSN club, but it looked like rain and we thought it would be a hassle to catch a bus back to the resort since there were no direct routes. So we just watched it in the room. Then we realized how tired we were, and decided to head to bed fairly early. Besides we wanted to be fully refreshed. We planned to go full throttle for the next few days.

Don't worry, we actually do stuff, lots of stuff over the next 9 days in the World.

Next up we go to the Animal Kingdom and have a Dismeet :wizard:

What a beautiful wedding! :lovestruc I really loved your idea for a guest book. I can't wait to read more about your trip. And dont worry, the arrival day is pretty exhausting and I know from experience how exhausting it can be right after your wedding.

Great pics of the ceremony!

Wow at the drama of getting to the airport! :scared1: That must have been nerve wrecking but am glad everything worked out and you managed to get on the plane and have a window seat! :woohoo:

Yay on getting a great room location...love the view you got in the mornings! :goodvibes

Yikes, you really do have the luck :teeth: I hate airport drama, but at least you made the flight and the bits in between were easy going :thumbsup2

I love arrival day, the anticipation of knowing where you're going and then when you land and see the ME for the first time you think "It's really happening, we're finally here" :teeth:

Subbing! I have enjoyed your TR so far-- hopefully you come back and update soon! =)

Beautiful wedding!!! I can't wait to hear about your disneymoon. In the process of planning mine!

Thank you!:goodvibes Yeah, I just didn't care if we did anything on arrival day or not. I was just glad to know that I was in Disney World and that we had the next two weeks to just relax and do whatever we wanted to.

Yeah the fact that we didn't miss our flight was amazing . I loved our room. It was a nice relaxing place to go back to after a long day at the parks.

I thought riding ME was fun. It's like getting to jump right into the disney magic right after you get off the plane. I looked just as excited as all of the children on the bus once the video started and we were on our way

I've been so bad at updating. I need to get this show on the road. Glad you are joining in.

Thanks! That is so exciting :yay: You guys will have an amazing time! If you have any planning questions feel free to ask.

First Full Day! Sunday, September 25th

Alright people I'm back. I hope you are still here. Sorry I've been a bad DISer and haven't updated forever. But for those of you who still want to hear about my trip...here goes.

So the first park we visited on our honeymoon was

P1050811.jpg

Might seem like the least likely place to start the vacation, but Matt was excited because this was the only park he had never been to before. And me being the disney geek I am was excited to play tour guide for the day. It was very easy to get a bus that morning. Plus we were close to bus stop 2 (which is the first to get picked up). We made it to Animal Kingdom just in time for rope drop. We saw the little show with Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Goofy and such dressed in safari gear. Then we were off. Of course our first stop would be this glorious mountain.

P1050022.jpg

There was no wait, so we got right on. We were seated in the very front. It was a good first ride, but the front just wasn't fast enough for us. So we got right back on and were seated near the back. We liked that ride better. It was only 9:30 now so we grabbed a fast pass and headed toward my favorite show

P1050026.jpg

I just love the lion king. We were super early, but we didn't mind waiting. Since we were early we got a great seat. I also got some pretty good pics with my camera.

P1050027.jpg

I love the monkeys!

P1050032.jpg

P1050036.jpg

P1050046.jpg

Since I've waited so long to update, and I was bad and didn't take notes while on my trip, I don't quite remember what order we did stuff in next. But I remember the gist of it. I do remember that the park wasn't crowded that day, so by using fast pass and such we didn't wait more than 10 minutes or so for any rides.

I'm pretty sure we got on Kilimajaro Safari next. I won't bore you with tons of pictures (because I took TONS ) Here is my absolute favorite though. We got to stop and watch the mom and baby elephant take a bath!

P1050090.jpg

We walked the Pangani trail and saw the gorillas

P1050144.jpg

We then headed to

DSCF0921.JPG

Matt loooves dinosaurs, so I was excited for him to ride this. He really liked it. I really like this ride, too. I think it's exciting. Then we decided to head over to the Maharajah Jungle Trek to check out these cats

P1050165.jpg

And these bats

P1050156.jpg

I love tigers, but I think the bats are so cool. I could stare at them for hours.

At some point we watched It's Tough to Be a Bug and of course I had to get this picture.

P1050154.jpg

We ate lunch at Flame Tree Barbecue. Sorry, no pictures. But we shared the ribs and the chicken. It was delicious! I was disappointed however to discover that the key lime pie was not there. Instead, it was key lime mousse. It was okay, but had a weird, too sweet green gel on top.

We saw the flights of wonder show. I think it's pretty funny, and we both enjoyed watching all the birds.

P1050192.jpg

I know we rode everest at least once or probably twice more. Then we decided to head over to Rafiki's Planet Watch because neither of us had ever been over there before. Here's another time we had some luck. It started raining pretty hard after we had boarded the train, but then it died down to a sprinkle when we were let off. So we stayed nice and dry. I swear I have really good luck with my rain timing in Florida.

We met this guy while we were at planet watch

P1050196.jpg

But besides a few characters, there wasn't much going on over there. It's probably a place I'd skip next trip unless I knew something was going on.

Now it was nearing closing time, so we decided to head back and get ready for our dinner here

P1050199.jpg

We got to Kidani Village pretty early so we decided to go outside and see the savannah. I really like the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I love the theme, and I think it would be so cool to wake up and see zebras and giraffes outside your balcony window in the morning. When we neared our reservation time we checked in and were seated soon. We started with drinks and the bread appetizer.

Matt got this drink that changes colors.

P1050213-1.jpg

And I got something with mango and coconut and rum. It was delicious of course. How can you go wrong with that?

P1050215.jpg

The bread service was yummy but I failed to take a picture and I forget what dips we got. I do remember that we got the mango chutney and that it wasn't my favorite.

For dinner we both got some dishes that were slow cooked in gravy.
Matt got the shrimp with green curry sauce and the chicken curry. He really liked it.
P1050219.jpg

I got the coconut-curry lamb and the beef short ribs
P1050218.jpg

Unfortunately I wasn't pleased with my dish. It was good, but both dishes tasted exactly the same. I'm not talking very similar, I mean exactly the same. I brought this up to the server and his reply was that the sauce is very similar just the meats are spiced differently. Well my taste buds must not work, or they are just slow cooked in the the same exact gravy even though one is supposed to be coconut-curry lamb and the other beef. Anyone else ever had these two dishes? Were they the same to you? Just curious.

For dessert we shared the chai cream. I thought it was pretty good, but I wasn't wowed. I think I'm just addicted to chocolate, so since it didn't have any I was bias

Dinner wasn't bad, but I wish that there were some more adventurous flavors offered at Sanaa. Just something a little more than beef stew flavored coconut curry lamb.

After we were finished with dinner, we got to experience our first Dismeet! I was looking all night to see if TanzUnited99 and Zaheer were there. It was perfect timing because as we finished up and payed our bill they were seated close by. We went over and talked to them for probably like 20 minutes or so. We only stopped chatting because they got there food and we wanted to let them eat it before it got cold. I loved meeting Tanz and Zaheer. They were both really nice. I love that Tanz and I could have talked about Disney all night because we both love it so much. Matt and Zaheer also hit it off because they both are into soccer/football and hockey. They were so great that they even told us that we were welcome to stay with them if we ever made it over to England. It was great meeting them and making new friends. That's another reason Disney is so great. You can meet so many people from all over and you all have one thing in common. You're at the happiest place on earth having lots of fun!

Here's a picture we got with Tanz and Zaheer

P1050224.jpg

All in all it was a great day. We conquered the Animal Kingdom and had a nice meal and made some new friends all on our first day.

Coming up next...we get to go into space!

Joining (a little late).

I love the back seat on EE! It's my favorite. I don't prefer riding in the front, because you're right, it's not as fast.

How awesome that you got to meet Tanz and Zaheer. I love DISmeets.
