Hi there,
My family is less than two weeks away from our first Disney cruise and very excited. Can someone tell me if I will be able to buy shovel and buckets on the ship for the beach. We have two excursions booked at resorts to hang out at the pool and beach and I'm not sure if I should be bringing beach toys with us or if I will be able to buy them once we are there.

Thanks.

These two DCL shop's on CC should be a great place for you!

"She Sells Sea Shells...and Everything Else
Be sure to stock up at this gift shop featuring exclusive Disney Castaway Cay T-shirts, polo shirts, hats, pins, key chains, magnets and towels—and have Disney cruise staff deliver your purchases to the ship.

Buy the Sea Shore
Pick up a variety of Castaway Cay-exclusive items, along with towels, sunscreen and other beach essentials. This new merchandise location is a complement to She Sells Sea Shells & Everything Else."

HTH's!

I know they sell sand toys on Castaway Cay. I'd think they probably sell them on the ship as well. Be prepared to pay a big price for them, though.

We bring inexpensive ones with us and leave them behind - all wet and sandy- then use that space for other things on the way home. There are many things I don't mind paying vacation prices for but plastic buckets!

I hope they clean and re-use them in the Family Cabana's rather than just having to burn or ship that waste away to another island so you didn't have to take it with you!

A few years back we bought a Castaway Cay bag of sand toys. They came in a mesh bag and had lots of neat accessories like a plastic mold of the ship and Mickey and the expected shovels and buckets. I recall it being around $15.00 for the set. I'm sure they've gone up since then but I was happy I didn't bring any from home.

Thanks for the help guys, but I forgot to mention that we were on the 7 day L.A. to Mexico cruise. After looking a bit on-line I think I might be better off bringing some stuff with us, I don't want to risk a day at the beach without any toys.

Yes good point. There were some on cc but we leave on the ship instead of packing them....

Just wanted to add an FYI that the bag I bought was purchased on the ship, it just said Castaway Cay on it.

I will point out that the first port of call is Puerto Vallarta. Directly across the street from where the ship docks is Wal-Mart. Probably pretty cheap there.
