Why Not Just Queue Up Another Disney Trip? Link to New TR 6/24 p136!

I loved this update :thumbsup2 (except for the bats...they kinda creep me out :rotfl:)

Thanks! :goodvibes Bats normally creep me out too, but these just seemed so unusual, not like the scary, gross ones I associate with Halloween.

I find AK so beautiful and think that park has the best photo ops. Your update has me so excited to be back there in 2 weeks :cool1:

I agree. I absolutely love to take pictures at AK. It's the best. I hope you have fabulous weather on your trip so you can spend lots of time outdoors soaking in the sights and taking pictures. Caitlin's pictures are getting more and more fabulous very trip.

I had to laugh at your story about Denny missing the exit. Sounds like something Dale would do and it would bug the heck out of me

I looked up right before the exit and said, "You need to turn there". Too late. Yeah - it was a tad annoying because he had the GPS ON!

Haha, I saw your title and couldn't help but to bust into the Beyonce song. "All the single riders, all the single riders....now put your hands up!" Appropriate, right? :lmao:

I think that's why I remembered from Podsnel's TR. She must have related it to the same song. :rotfl: I'm such a thief, stealing her title like that.

Funny, I rarely take advantage of the single rider line. I don't have an aversion to it, we just never really use it. But you're right, in a party of three, one is going to be alone.

I like to use it if I think its going to save a few minutes, although I do prefer riding in a group. I like to use single rider on TT because I really think it shaves off a lot more time than any of the other rides.

No picture of the wine glass? I have to wait??

AACK!

I know. I'm bad, but I'm actually not sure where that picture is. :confused3 I think its a phone picture so I have to look for it.

Gorgeous gorgeous pictures, what a stunning day! I love the tigers.

Thanks! I really enjoyed taking pictures on that trail because it was a first for me! The tigers were awesome!

It really is a huge bummer they discontinued the dining plan segments though I can only imagine the admin logistics of it being :scared1:

I was actually surprised they even starting offering the dining plan in segments. I would think at that point they would know it wasn't going to work well. Too labor intensive. Oh well - it was good while it lasted.

Gorgeous AK pictures, as always!! :goodvibes

Thanks! I'm curious to hear what you thought of AK this trip. Did you like it any better?

I have been in the same situation as Denny and I agree, it had to be totally your fault. (Hey, us guys have to stick together. ;))
:rotfl2: Well, I do have to admit that it IS always harder to follow directions when you are driving, but still! :rotfl2:

Love the Maharajah Jungle Trek (it wasn't the Pangani -- that's the one with the gorillas...now do you see why Denny got lost?). :rotfl2:

DOH! As soon as I read this I went back and changed it. I always want to call all the trails the Pangani trail (we did that one later in the day). Thanks for correcting me because it would probably take me awhile to catch my mistake.

Beautiful pictures Mary Ellen. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I'm really pleased with how these pictures turned out, but I have to give the credit to the excellent subject matter! :thumbsup2

I agree- where is the pic of the wine glass????

I  the everest Single rider line. It usually moves pretty fast unlie the RnR single rider line that can crawl and leave you stuck in there for what seems like forever.

I feel you pain in being 5 min after rope drop and stuck in a sea of people with Mr. Inspector for bag check.

Two requests - Ok then - I will see if I can find it and post it! It really is cute. :thumbsup2

.

Exactly - its one of the best single rider lines there is and I don't think any of the December newbies even knew it was there. Very handy indeed!

I feel you pain in being 5 min after rope drop and stuck in a sea of people with Mr. Inspector for bag check.

Bag checks were really annoying this trip. It seemed like they wanted every little tiny compartment opened and then I was stuck trying to zip them all back up while watching to make sure the contents did not fall out. Tricky!

One of the reasons my park bag has ONE zipper. My last one had too many when they wanted all of them open. :headache:

I really need a new one but it also has to have ONE zipper. :)

Yup - live and learn. The one I have now has 4 or 5 zippers. I love it, but I won't make that mistake again. :rotfl:

Not the greatest picture - but here's the wine glass. Look closely and you will see little Mickey heads. Denny surprised me with it for Christmas. Well, it actually wasn't THAT much of a surprise, but I pretended it was! :rolleyes1

Great shots!
I think my fav is the pic of the Yeti sign with Everest in the background.
Very nicely done.

And I LOVE Dinosaur although I'm not sure anyone in my family agrees. :confused3

Great updates! Looks like such a gorgeous morning, love that blue sky! Loved the redneck photo and Nick looks like he's having a blast! Front row for EE, never done it! I think we'll be asking for front row this trip!

Your wine glass is beautiful!

Very pretty wine glass! :)

Too funny about the single rider line and Denny still having to ride it. :rotfl2:

Beautiful pictures of the Jungle Trek!

Gorgeous pictures along the Maharajah Jungle Trek. I love those trails but John could do without them...especially the bats. He hates bats!

I personally love the single rider line, but Denny does not. For whatever reason he must have a single rider phobia, because he consistently refuses to enter one. :confused3 Go Figure! And today was AK day, so taking a jaunt through the single rider line could be in the plans. KWIM?

He just wants to be with his family. :grouphug:

How can you miss an obvious turn when you have (1) Great signs and (2) a GPS?????

:rolleyes1

We were in a VERY long line of traffic to get into the park lot.

I bet Denny would have opted for a single-rider line at the toll booth.

Yup - that's Nick - hamming it up for the cameras. He screams like a baby through this whole ride and generally has blast of a time.

Cool. I know a lot of people hate that ride, but I enjoy it. I imagine this kid does not share my sentiments:

Although there were crowds in the park, which you can't tell from my pictures, these people were mostly uneducated about the FP system, which totally worked to our advantage.

:woohoo: for uneducated masses!

We always like to stop here for a little monkey action

:eek::scared1:

More great pictures! I really love the Majaraj--Mahhrraj--Marrhgrj--trail with the tigers on it. Some of the best theming in Disney, in my opinion.

Great pictures!!! Even the bat pictures. (I do NOT like bats!)
I love the wine glass too. I think I may need one.
Weren't you the reason I have the Animal Kingdom Mickey Head coffee mug too? I know it was some DISer that showed it to me and FORCED me to get one!

Great update! I want to ride EE at night too, I was thinking of doing it this May, but since we're only going for such a short time, we might be skipping AK all together! And I'm guessing it's not even going to be dark between 6 and 7 in Florida in May, so I'll wait until I go back later in the year. I wish they would put back evening magic hours there. :sad2:

Ugh, I'm not sure if I could do a single rider line. Maybe on a solo trip, but when Brandon and I are together, I'd rather just wait and ride with him!

I love all of your pictures of the trek, especially the tigers, they are so beautiful! :lovestruc

Your wine glass is awesome!

I have to say that going down the walking trails in 75 degrees weather is much nicer than summer weather. It was just perfect and I'm so glad we took advantage of it. :goodvibes

I goggled it and I found that his name is Wallace Langham. At least that's what it said on the youtube video I found of the pre ride. CSI Las Vegas?

Yup - here it is

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallace_Langham

Walking there in the 90's is not much fun, but we do it in the early morning!

Thanks for the info, I know him from Veronica's Closet. It was driviing me nuts everytime I'd see that video!

I will try to update my TR, but I found out this morning that we are going to Florida Tues. & will be there for 3 weeks. I've got lots of arrangements to make this week! Unfortunitely no trip to WDW while were're in Florida!:sad2:

1f42e48b.jpg

Oh I likey!!!! Where did you find it again? I want a set! well...2 glasses at any rate lol

I want one of those wine glasses! My Chocolate Cherry Truffle wine would be quite tasty in that!

BTW, I made one thousand posts with my last post to you!:yay:

I am with Cynthia...where is the picture of the wine glass????

Ok - this is weird. I am certain I looked for a post after Glen's last night and never saw this. It's like it suddenly appeared tonight, but I know it had to be there all along. Well, I'm glad I posted a picture this morning because that's THREE people who asked to see it. It does make drinking wine more fun! :thumbsup2

So many fun areas and details to explore in AK. I vow each time to spend more time there but somehow never make it happen. Maybe in May...

I think you should, but I'm biased! I love AK. On some trips I feel like its my favorite park. I just love the theme. Get ready because I took a ton of pictures there this trip! :rolleyes1

That's such a pretty wine glass! It's almost too pretty to drink out of! ;)

I definitely think its designed more to admire than to actually drink out of. I do keep it on my windowsill in my kitchen so I can see it everyday! :goodvibes

Great shots!
I think my fav is the pic of the Yeti sign with Everest in the background.
Very nicely done.

Thanks. I like the one with the Yeti sign too, but I think I got some sun glare in that one. bummer!

And I LOVE Dinosaur although I'm not sure anyone in my family agrees. :confused3

Dinosaur is one of those rides that people either love or hate. Nick and I are lovers of the Dinosaur. My older son hates it. Despises it, actually. I hope you kids grow to like it, but I know my eldest never did.

Great updates! Looks like such a gorgeous morning, love that blue sky! Loved the redneck photo and Nick looks like he's having a blast! Front row for EE, never done it! I think we'll be asking for front row this trip!

It was SUCH a perfect day!

Nick is very entertaining on Dinosaur, to say the least.

I highly recommend front row EE. The front row wait is never terribly long. I think its worth doing at least once! For research purposes, if nothing else. :rotfl:

Your wine glass is beautiful!

Thanks. It ended up being a great souvie!

Very pretty wine glass! :)

Thanks. I do love :lovestruc it!

Too funny about the single rider line and Denny still having to ride it. :rotfl2:

I guess I sort-of tricked him. :rolleyes1 I felt a little bad but he's so laid back he just went with it!

Beautiful pictures of the Jungle Trek!

Thank you. I loved it back there. So much detail!

IMG_99151.jpg

VERY cool!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks! Probably one of my fav pictures of the trip! ;)

Gorgeous pictures along the Maharajah Jungle Trek. I love those trails but John could do without them...especially the bats. He hates bats!

Bats in general are pretty creepy, but I found those particular bats rather entertaining - Probably because it was day light! Glad you like the pictures!

He just wants to be with his family. :grouphug:

Yup - you're right. that must be it! :rotfl:

My sentiments exactly! :rotfl:

I bet Denny would have opted for a single-rider line at the toll booth.

You know I have this bad habit of picking the longest line when all the lines look equal? Well, Denny picks the longest line when it obviously twice as long as all the others. :confused3 He probably wished he was a single driver and that I wasn't in the car with him that morning! :rotfl:

Cool. I know a lot of people hate that ride, but I enjoy it. I imagine this kid does not share my sentiments:

That poor kid (even in all his haziness) looks positively traumatized. Poor kid!

I personally love Dinosaur, but I don't scream my head off through the whole ride like Nick does. I just laugh!

:woohoo: for uneducated masses!

Seriously. It really DID work to our advantage as you will see when we get to the safari!

Probably not the best expression, huh? :rotfl:

More great pictures! I really love the Majaraj--Mahhrraj--Marrhgrj--trail with the tigers on it. Some of the best theming in Disney, in my opinion.

I definitely agree. It was some of the best theming in all of Disney. I'm so glad I finally got to visit during "nice" weather. We spent a lot of time outside on this day, as you will soon see!

Great pictures!!! Even the bat pictures. (I do NOT like bats!)

You have to admit that those bats (like them or not) are pretty darn cool!

I love the wine glass too. I think I may need one.
Weren't you the reason I have the Animal Kingdom Mickey Head coffee mug too? I know it was some DISer that showed it to me and FORCED me to get one!

Uhm....Yes.....I think I was the instigator on that one, but you LOVE it, don't you? :rolleyes1

AK is the only place I saw that mug. Denny got it in the EE dump shop, but I didn't go in any other shops so it might have been somewhere else.

:sad2:

I wish the same thing. I love AK in the dark!

As far as getting dark - I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but it definitely was not at 5pm like it is here in December. So its definitely still going to be light in May! That's why I knew I HAD to ride it this trip in case EMH never come back to AK.

Ugh, I'm not sure if I could do a single rider line. Maybe on a solo trip, but when Brandon and I are together, I'd rather just wait and ride with him!

If we weren't a party of three I would never have suggested it, but it seemed like a good way to get a quick ride it. Unfortunately, as you can see, it didn't happen. :sad2:

I love all of your pictures of the trek, especially the tigers, they are so beautiful! :lovestruc

Aren't they beautiful animals! Glad you like the pics. Definitely take your camera if you ever go back there for a stroll. There is just so much scenery eye candy.

Your wine glass is awesome!

Thanks! Glad you like it!

Walking there in the 90's is not much fun, but we do it in the early morning!

That's really the only way to do it. It will be interesting to see if my nephews have any interest in the trails this summer.

Thanks for the info, I know him from Veronica's Closet. It was driviing me nuts everytime I'd see that video!

I'm so glad you figured out where you knew him from. I wonder how an actor gets a cool Disney job like that?

I will try to update my TR, but I found out this morning that we are going to Florida Tues. & will be there for 3 weeks. I've got lots of arrangements to make this week! Unfortunitely no trip to WDW while were're in Florida!:sad2:

Three weeks in Florida? Can you say jealous? That's awesome, even if you can't make a Disney stop. I hope the weather is fabulous and that you have a great time!

Oh I likey!!!! Where did you find it again? I want a set! well...2 glasses at any rate lol

In the dump shop at EE. I didn't go in any of the other stores so they could be other places as well. I just remember seeing them and wanting right away!

I want one of those wine glasses! My Chocolate Cherry Truffle wine would be quite tasty in that!

It sure would! Although I bet that wine would taste good out of a dixie cup.

BTW, I made one thousand posts with my last post to you!:yay:

Yeah!!!!!!! 1000 posts! :woohoo::cool1::woohoo:
