Military Discount Tickets

If we purchase 4 Military Salute tickets, am I correct in thinking that DH and I can use the tickets ourselves, to give us 8 consecutive days in the parks? Will the 4 tickets need to be activated all at once?:confused3

No. The tickets cannot have days added or made No Expire.

The only possible ways to upgrade are adding WPF&M to a hopper or adding hopping to a ticket with WPF&M.

You can also go to any level of AP which you are eligible to purchase, but you are only given credit for the actual price of the ticket, there is no price bridging to equivalent current gate.

I just have a quick question about the eligibility requirements for the tickets. My husband is currently active duty but is considering trying to swap over to the National Guard. We already have a trip booked with military room discounts & I was planning on buying the tickets on base soon. Would he only still be eligible if went "full time" active guard as opposed to the one weekend a month & 2 weeks in the summer? I am used to active duty & know next to nothing about the NG so I'm not sure what all the differences are. Help!

I had sort of the same question, but want to change that last question to CAN the 4 (in my case, 6 for DH, DD, and myself) be activated all at once?

My husband is Army National Guard (1 weekend a month, 2 weeks in the summer but can and has been activated and deployed) and yes, he still gets the discount.

Thanks for your reply, now I feel a bit better. All these possible changes coming up & one of the first things I told him was "I hope this doesn't mess up the Disney trip!" lol.

Question: My dad was active duty Air National Guard until he passed away 3 yrs ago. My mom has a dependant card but I don't think she has had it renewed lately. If she has it renewed, can she get discount military tickets? I wasn't sure if spouses of deceased military members qualify or not.

The status of "Unremarried Widow" on a DD1173 can be used to activate Armed Forces Salute tickets.

Chesire Figment - can you answer a question for me?

I didn't use any of my theme park days on my Armed Forces ticket but did use 1 of the fun options at Disney Quest. Would I be able to put my ticket towards a DVC AP renewal and pay the difference?

Sorry to bother Cheshire...tried seraching by terms and could not find the answer. Dosney website was not clear. Hubby is 100% disabled vet w/ a disabled vet ID card, so I think not considered "retired" as it is not due to age but is due to injury while serving. Is he eligible for the military promo? Thanks.

Read through all this and didn't see anything about it, so here goes my question. The tickets are for 4 days, I get that, I see that your can either get them as a park hopper or as a base with the water park option as well...do you have to use the water park ticket during those 4 regular days or is that ticket seperate? Hope that made sense..

This is a "canned" response modified for the Armed Forces Salute 2011/2012 tickets with the assumption you have both the Park Hopper and Water Park Fun and More (WPF&M) options.

Hopefully this will make it a little clearer. In effect you have two tickets with different privileges on one card. Everything expires at Midnight on Sunday September 30, 2012. Even if you use up all your major park days, the WPF&M entries remain valid until used or 9/30/12. (Note you do not have to use the days consecutively.)

You have four days of access to the four major parks (AK, DHS, EC, MK), and may visit more than one major park on a single day without any extra charges. Without the Park Hopper option you can only go to one major park per day.

You have four entries to the minor parks (BB, DQ, OT, TL, WWS). These may or may not be used on the same days as you go to the major parks. However, if you went to TL in the morning, Oak Trail in the afternoon, and Disney Quest in the evening of one day you would have used three of the four entries. (Note that leaving and returning to the same minor park on the same day does not use an extra entry.)

If you go to minor parks only on one day and do not go to a major park you do not use up one of your major park days.

If you were to go to a Water Park in the morning and then one of the major parks for the remainder of the day you would have used one minor park entry and one day of major park entry.

Note that with the ticket unless you have the hopper option you can only go to one major park per day. Unless you have the WPF&M option you cannot go to a minor park without upgrading or purchasing a separate ticket.

ok I think I understand what your saying, let me give an example to make sure: so if I buy the 4 day Military salute tickets without park hopper,so I can have a water park, I can use the park tickets June 7-10, then on the 11th can use our water park ticket correct?? Sorry guess it's the blonde in me, just want to make sure I understand correctly before making plans! Thanks a bunch!

Yes, that's correct

The following was added yesterday to the official internal ticketing notice about the Armed Forces Salute Tickets:

"Guests may participate in this offer as often as they wish as long as no more than six (6) tickets are sold in each transaction."

So there is no longer any limit, although the number of tickets activated by a service member will still be tracked.

Question: Does this mean that tickets will be avalible after the September 30th deadline? I ask this for two reasons 1) We wanted to go to the Food and Wine Festival

and

2) We used 6 tickets this past spring. We are planning to use 6 more this fall (either September or October depending on whether or not the Armed Forces Tickets remain available), but would like to go again later in the year. Is this possible?
