What community for pool home?

We are looking at renting a pool home in March (last-minute). We have found some really nice places in the following communities:

High Grove
Silver Creek
Highlands Reserve
Southern Dunes
Cumbrian Lakes

Are any of these areas in bad neighbourhoods. We have stayed at Calabay parc and Windsor Palms before and liked both areas. How close they are to the Disney parks do not matter as we are only going a couple times.

Thanks!

The first four comunities are all on HWY27 .Of those Higrove is the closest to the attractions but not by much as it is at the west end of 192 .The main downside that some people find ids that the water treatment plant nearby can sometines spoil the fresh air around there.
Silver Creek is north in 27 past Cagan Crossings and about 1 mile off 192 a nice community which some people thingk is ruined by the housing development nearby but the times I have been there I have not noticed anything untowards going on.
Highlands is on s27 and close to Berry Town Centre whrere there is Publix ,Applebees and other eating places .Depending on where you are on the community it may be possible to walk to the store .
Southern Dunes is south of I4 so the furthest out of the oines you have listed so any journey you make will invove the I4 but as a plus it is right by a Wal Mart.
Cumbrian Lakes is the other end of 192 so you have all the convenience
of what that road offers althoguh apart from SD none of the others are that bad a drive to 192 to either.
None are bad areas but my preferece would be towards HR if I had to make the choice.

Can anyone comment on the water/wastewater treatment plant at High Grove? On google maps I see something near the McDonalds on 27 that looks like a treatment plant. We stayed in Windsor Palms last March and the plant right next to that resort ruined our vacation it smelled so bad.

This is why I'm asking for detailed information about different communities. I want to be sure to stay in a nice smelling/safe area. Can anyone comment on any other communities that we should look into other than the ones I mentioned at the beginning?
Thanks so much:confused3

I can't comment really on how they are now, but we stayed at High Grove a few years back and the water smelled REALLY bad! When I inquired at a different home about two years ago I asked the owner point blank about the water and he said that the community still has that problem. So if smelly water annoys you - avoid! lol

I would consider Cumbrian Lakes out of the ones you mentioned in your first post. Everything I've read about the community sounds very nice, and I'm considering staying there for our trip next year since we hope to do a combined WDW/Universal Studios trip.

Other communities to consider near Disney that are cheaper than Windsor Hills would be Sunset Lakes, Emerald Island and Indian Creek. I'm fairly certain none of these communities have the issue with the bad smell coming from the treatment plant (at least I haven't read about it in all my research of these other communities). I've only read about it being an issue at Windsor Palms.

Here is a link to a thread regarding different communities people here have recommended:

Good luck with your search.

I would stay at Cumbrian Lakes. Quiet community, gated and well maintained. Most of the villas back onto a lake or conservation area. It is 10 minutes to Disney, about 15/20 minutes to Universal. There is plenty of restaurants close by and 2 Walmarts and Publix.
