Headed down for our first stay at the Poly tomorrow!!!! Can't wait to see what I've been missing! :)

We will be at the Poly tomorrow night. Woo Hoo. I can hardly wait. Better get packing I guess

Thanks! I can't wait to be in the warmer weather at the Poly. It has such a nice tropical feel. :cool2:

Oh it certainly does. There's nothing like stepping off the ME bus and hearing a great big, cheerful "Aloha!" and then you know you're in paradise.

Guess where I am going today? We are packed and sitting on go. Getting on that ole airplane this afternoon and heading down to that magical place!
:yay:

Looks like this is a good couple of days for people going to the Poly. Heading out tomorrow. Can't Wait!!

Okay, I have a few questions, and sorry if these have already been answered but this is my first tme posting on the Poly thread and I haven't read through the whole thing. First I wanted to ask about the torch lighing cermony, can you tell me some details? I read it is at 6pm, how long does it last is it worth the time to set aside to check it out? Also, what is the best place to view Wishes from? Lastly, what is the boat transportation route and schedule to the GF and MK? Thanks so much!

Welcome!

I have only 'bumped' into the torch lighting ceremony but I can tell you it is not very long at all (5 - 10 minutes). I thought it was neat but wouldn't schedule around it. If you happen to have a 6:15 pm ADR at one of the restaurants or will be walking that way to get on a monorail, it would be nice to catch it.

If you want to view Wishes from the Poly, just go to the beach by the Volcano pool - or anywhere along the beach! It's all a similar view although nearer the pool, they do pipe in the music.

None of Disney's internal transportation is on a schedule. You might wait 5 to 30 minutes for a boat depending. It is a very quick walk to GF though and very lovely if you are interested in that. If you want a quick ride - the monorail is your best option.

Do we need to bring our own sand toys (ie buckets/shovels/etc) for the beach?

Yes~
The afternoon poolside activities sometimes includes sand castle building, and they have a few shovels and buckets for them to use, but very few for the amount of kids that wanted to build.

Thanks!! I think I'll just buy a few at the dollar tree and see if I can pass them along to someone at the end of our trip.

:thumbsup2That's what we've done and people are always so appreciative.
Now if you were staying at either YC/BC or CBR, I'd say, you can always find a ton laying around since Hurricane Hanna's and the food court at CBR serve some of their kids' meals in a bucket. It's actually kind of sad, so many of them get thrown away.

They do sell buckets and shovels in the boutiki.. But f you are staying club level.. You get a bucket wen you check in..

Really? Good to know! We are staying Club Level! Any other little perks I should know about, you know, besides the listed ones?

Is it a cheap bucket? I don't want to feel like I have to make room to take it home lol unless it is worth it?
