I know that Undercover Tourist is the big favorite around here, but I am hoping to get a package deal with the off-site hotel that I am planning to book. They offer packages that include their rooms and Disney tickets that are bought through reservedirect.com / reserveorlando.com

ReserveDirect says that they are a "Disney Tickets Official Location", and their website looks reputable.... but I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything about them or had any experience with them!

If I buy the package deal through the hotel it will save me almost $100 compared to if I buy the tickets through Undercover Tourist and book the hotel room separately.

I have never heard of ReserveDirect. If you really want to save a lot of money do this. Go on craigslist orlando ticket part about a week before your trip. Post saying you are looking for cheap tickets or a cast member to get you in. You can get cast members to meet you at the gate and get you in for about $50 a hopper. They can get 3 people in per day. I use to be a intern and use to sell them on craiglist all the time. And I know there are so many disney workers doing the same thing. You won't have to pay them until after they get you in the park. Now that I am no longer a cast member this is how I get into the parks now for cheap.

No experience but I am curious if you have kids going (what age) and when you are going. You may be able to save more if you can do the YES program.

Please don't listen to this person. Craigslist isn't safe and asking a Cast Member to put their job at risk is selfish at best. Check out Cheshire Figment's sticky on the Theme Park boards. It's all about tickets and he gives a full listing of approved Disney ticket resellers. Ticket costs are a huge part of a Disney vacation, you need to budget for them and you may get burned trying to save a few bucks. Not worth it.

Its safe don't listen to this person. How do you think full time cast members make a living? You think $8 a hour pays the bills. They sell their extra tickets for extra cash. Its a win win situation for both parties. The cast member helps a family save money. The guest helps the cast member make money.

I looked at that post and didn't see a list of the approved ticket resellers... I will go check it out again!

I have a 5-year-old, but isn't the YES program only at Disneyland? We are headed to WDW. Correct me if I'm wrong!

There are YES programs at WDW and there is one class for kids as young as 5. I looked it up for a friend last week.

I don't think Cheshire Figment can completely reproduce the official list of approved Disney ticket sellers, but he will tell you if a particular seller is on the list.

I would guess the tickets are likely legit, as they are tied to a room deal. Seems to me that the hotel is eating some of the ticket price in hopes of getting "heads in beds" as they say.

I would just check them out maybe at the BBB to make sure there aren't complaints about unusable Disney tickets.

Thanks for the info!

FYI, I have 2 CMs in my immediate family, and neither one of them would ever dream of selling their entrances. It's against policy and it's not worth losing their job over, especially in this economy. I suggest you budget you money and live within your means.

Sorry, I though he has it on that sticky. I suggest you PM Cheshire Figment and ask him about the ticket brokers/resellers.

No you are right there are many cast members that wouldn't sell them. There are also cast members that sell them daily. Especially, the foreign interns that
are leaving and never coming back. They are just looking for extra cash for their travels after they leave disney. Also many third party comapnies that work for disney get hard copy hoppers all the time. Then they dump them for cheap before they expire and go to waste.

Thanks for all of the tips, everyone!

I think, for moral and budgeting reasons, I will avoid buying tickets from CM's at the gate.

The BBB gives ReserveDirect an "A+". There has never been a complaint filed against them, so I think that's a good sign!

I will have to PM Chesire.

Thanks again, all!
