I have always wanted to attend the Vera Bradley sale in Ft. Wayne and I am making it a priority to go this year. I have some questions for veterans...

1. What sort of prices can I expect to see?
2. Is it best to keep a list of the syles of bags I would like or patterns?
3. Is it better to go during the first few days or will prices drop further as the sale continues?

Any other information you could provide would be most helpful! :goodvibes

Did you get the link today to purchase tickets ?

The admission for the first 3 days is $5 per person, and then Sat/Sun free

It says in the link, that prices are upto 65% off.

I've seen postings from last year, the prices go down day by day, but so do the products.

They have a price flyer that sets the prices for each product per day that you get at the door.

I would love love love to go.

I've even thought about trying to find somebody to pay to pick up some items for me.

If you can find it, there is a thread somewhere in the CB, Vera Bradley Lovers.

Most important questions: how far would you be traveling to get to the sale, and do you have a VB outlet store near you? If the answers are "a couple of tanks' worth of gas" and "yes," then I would recommend skipping it. Prices are good, but factoring in gas and hassle time, you probably won't save any more doing the sale than you would at the outlet. The outlet store near me frequently runs sales on certain styles, and when I combine that with coupons I can often get bags for practically nothing. (Which is how I like it - VB bags are after all just quilted cotton made in China! Their full prices are IMO highway robbery considering what you get.)

However, if you don't have an outlet store near you and travel expenses wouldn't be that much, I would say it's worth going for the prices, but would wait until Saturday when you can get in for free. As far as style vs. pattern, honestly consider what's important to you. All of my VB is travel items for carry-on in airplanes, so to me, the style is more important than the pattern - I own some butt-ugly VB patterns :rotfl2:. But if you or someone you know just LOVES Paisley XYZ and wants to have everything from a curling iron cover to a contact lens case in it, then the pattern would be more important.

Good luck either way! VB items are very practical and I enjoy mine very much. They are the best carry-on bags I've ever owned.

We live in Cincinnati and my DD13 and I went a few years ago before they sold the tickets for certain times. We waited 2.5 hrs in line and the deals were ok. You can search online for the 2011 price list to get an idea. By the time we paid for gas and a hotel room for the night before the sale so we could be there first thing in the morning, we could've bought what we got on ebay and saved money. However, it was a good mother/daughter time together and something she was interested in doing with me. She's asked to go again this year and we're going to make the trek. I look at it as mother/daughter time and the sale is a bonus. It's all in how you look at it. If you go, have a great time and enjoy it!
