Done deal, Dani! DH and I are originally from Staten Island! We arrive in WDW on 8/3 for one night at ASMu. Then we move over to Poly for our package on 8/4 through 8/11. When do you arrive?

Oh, and of course, second round is on us! :goodvibes

Ah, you feel my pain then. :rotfl: This island has gone to waste. We arrive on the 7th for 9 nights. :lovestruc

I need suggestions for a longhouse request. We are staying in lagoon view from March 4-10. We are a family of 5- me, DH, DD-5, DD-3, and DS-1. I'd like to be close to the ceremonial house on one hand and close to the beach on the other. I'm wondering if Tokelau is the one for us or if we'd be better off somewhere else. Anyone have a suggestion? I'll probably request 1st floor b/c I'd hate for anyone to be beneath us if the kids get rowdy.

In your case I would request Tahiti. The rooms are slightly larger in Tahiti than in the other LV longhouses, and I think you would have the best 1st-floor view. Also, there is a large, almost unpopulated beach in front of Tahiti, which would give your little ones plenty of space to run about, like having a large backyard. Aotearoa is kind of similar in that there is a beach directly in front of you, but you are separated from the beach by a large grassy area that has walkways through it. And since Aotearoa is set back so far from the beach, the 1st floor views of the lagoon are not as panoramic as those from Tahiti. The only drawback to Tahiti is that it is the furthest from the GCH, while Aotearoa is right next to the GCH. The walk from Tahiti to GCH will cost you about 5-7 minutes, depending upon where in the building your room is and how quickly you walk. If it is raining or too hot or too cold, I suggest cutting through Tokelau and Rarotonga to get to the GCH. Some are bothered by the walk. I think it's beautiful and easy, nothing like the walk you might have to the main building at some values or mods.

ETA: Tuvalu also had LV rooms, but I don't think I'd prefer to be in the 1st floor of Tuvalu. It sits right on the water, so while you would have a patio, you would not be able to really walk off the patio and enjoy space (which for me personally would be perferable with toddlers). You would, however, most likely have a great view of EWP and Wishes from your patio. Also, Tuvalu is furthest from the TTC...but remember "furthest" is relative. Whatever you decide you want, make sure you put in your requests in order of preference. For example, "1st floor, please, preferably in Tahiti or..."

It was getting a bit overcrowded when I left 22 years ago. It was a great place to grow up, though. My parents don't live there any more, either, so I haven't been back in, maybe, 7 years or so. I will definitely PM you as we get closer to August so we can make Tambu Lounge plans! Or maybe as we get closer we should start a Poly in August thread!

Aloha!

This will be my first trip to Disney World in over 25 years. Did not stay at the Polynesian last time and wanted to, so this time we will be there, staying in the Hawaii building.

I've put in a request for "3rd floor or 1st floor". Seems like they each have advantages (balcony or patio) but none for 2nd floor.

Not that we'll be in the room that much except for sleeping, but I'm still looking forward to the view, or the beach.

ALOHA and congratulations! I always would prefer a balcony or patio, but I think in the Hawaii building, it's not AS important, because you have the beautiful lounge in which to spread out and enjoy the view. Don't be discouraged if you do get 2nd floor, but remember you can always ask to move if it's important to you. Have a magical vacation!

Sounds good! We should start a thread and get to know some fellow Poly Peeps.

Hi All,

We are staying at the Poly in 12 days (yay!) and it will be my first stay in about 4 years. At that time we could walk over to the TTC and catch a bus to Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom. Can you still do that? Or can you only get on the monorail from the TTC?

Thanks! I am so excited to be back at the Poly soon. It was the first resort that our family stayed in at WDW and it is still my favorite!:goodvibes

As far as I know, you can still catch HS and AK buses at the TTC. You can also take the resort bus from the Poly. We always say we're going to have a race between the TTC and resort buses, but when we are there, we forget!

Aloha, and congrats for booking the Poly!

Hey Poly Peeps! Started a Pre-Trip Report, but I was wondering if any of you knew how to put a fancy link to it in my signature? I like it when you have the actual title for the Trip Report that you click on. Anyone know???? Hhmmm????? Thanks!

First time posting in this thread, but I'm super excited, because i FINALLY convinced DF to make our honeymoon in November an AKL/POLY split stay. We love AKL, but I really really wanted to do both. I'm so excited!! I think its still 300 ish days away, but I can't wait :)

9 sleeps for me too! :yay:

Just completed online checkin today and put in our longhouse request. We're hoping for an upgrade but don't expect anything. We're perfectly fine with getting exactly what we purchased as it will be fun no matter where we're at in the resort.

DW seems to be getting excited as well.

If you see us Lori I'll be the one with the 16mo old and the pregnant wife that's praying no one throws glitter on us! :lmao:

Hope to see you there. We are staying CL Garden View. I the tall blond with the disney shirt and my hubby usually has on a astros shirt. my niece and nephew will be with us this time. I'm so excited.

Hyperlinking is easy!

Go to "QUICK LINKS"

Choose: "EDIT SIGNATURE"

Type what you want your link to say, for example:

POLY PTR

Highlight all of "POLY PTR" then click-on the blue globe/link symbol in the tool bar ("insert link") which is underneath the white smilie face ("smilies") and paste in the link to your PTR then click "OK". Congratulations, you've made a hyperlink!

Hi
I tried online check in today and had no option of requests other that 3 presets. No place to type in longhouse or floor request. ???

You have to note your longhouse request on your actual reservation, either by calling CRO or through "contact us" link on-line. Good luck!

OMG! I DID IT!! I DID IT!! I DID IT!!!!

Thank you!! :worship:

Now, can you help me with posting links to chapters in my Pre-Trip Report? :lmao: I love the organization of that set-up, You know - post #1 is the intro to your trip report and then post #2 is the list of chapters in order that you have been posting them. But I don't know how to get a "link" to an actual post, just a trip-report. LOL - does that make sense?? :confused3

You can definitely still walk over and catch a bus to pretty much anywhere on the property. Congrats!

Single digit dance for us too! :cool1:Looks like we have a few of us that will be there at the same time. We are GV CL Hawaii...how about the others?

I clicked onto the resorts board and what did I see--WOW a new home for the Polynesian folks. Thanks guitarob!
