Concerns when reading reviews about BCV

I am thinking about renting a studio at BCV. However, I was on another site that is all about ears and there were several reviews that commented about the rooms needing some TLC and remodeling (tiles missing in bathrooms, beds with broken mattress springs, dirty carpets,...etc). Now I am not one who is all that picky (well maybe just a little), but I get concerned when I see a decent amount of critical reviews. (In comparison, I was seeing glowing rooms about BWV so it just made me question.)

If you have been there recently, have the rooms been updated? Were they in good repair? Are people just being hyper critical? I need a little reassurance! TIA!! ;)

We spent a week in a 2BR there this past June. We had no complaints at all. The room was just as we expected it to be.

We already have another week booked there for this July (our 6th stay here). Can't wait!!

You'll always have more vocal complainers than guests with positive experiences. I'm sure you will find a villa at BCV (or any DVC resort) with a few problems, but overall, they are fine. Otherwise, BCV owners would be up in arms and you would hear that all over the DIS.

We were there in December in a studio and had no complaints about our room. It was very clean and we didn't see anything wrong with it. I'm sure there are some rooms at the BCV that need a little TLC, but that could probably be said about any resort.

Most rooms are fine, location is great, views, no big deal.

We stayed in a studio at BCV during Christmas and loved it! It was clean and everything was in working order! Did not see anything that needed done to it! Beautiful resort!!

Thanks everyone for your feedback. Just needed reassurance after reading some of those reviews. It would have made you think you were staying at the Haunted Mansion villas....which actually...would be quite fun!! :lmao:

Thank you OP for this thread.
I am calling in about 2 weeks to try to see if I can move my SSR ressie to a 2 bedroom at BWVs BW View. If I cannot do that, my next request will be BCVs. I'm going to go over and read the reviews that you mention but will also keep a look out here.

You are welcome!! It really is hard to choose a villa to stay at! I keep having to remind myself that I can always rent again and try another resort!

while we aren't big fans of the resort (we own there as well as 2 others), the condition of the resort is fine! every single DVC and WDW resort has had ppl who have had some complaint about it....if i listened to all of them, we would never go back (we have gone 2-3x a year, for about 20 years).
i'm sure you will find everything as wonderful as you envisioned - have a great time

We stayed in a one bedroom in June and LOVED it! I, too, was a little worried before our trip as I had read some not so favorable reviews. I am very picky and certainly would have spoken up if our villa wasn't acceptable. Is the decor a little outdated? Yes, for sure. But, our villa was very clean. In fact, it looked to me like it may have recently been painted as the walls were all smudge and ding free.

I cannot stand to check in somehwere and find mold in the shower grout -- stuff like that. There was none in our villa.

We loved our location within the complex, loved the close proximity to EPCOT, and would not hesitate to stay at BCV again. I hope you love it, too!

We have been there the past 2 August's. I didn't see any major problems. I think the rooms look dated but you can't beat the pool and location so it's a tradeoff. Nothing was broken or leaking or anything during our stay.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the feedback. I think we are going to go with BCV later this year. :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Outdated is not a term I think of with DVC. What some people call outdated, I call theming. You don't get the Cape May beach adventure of the late 1800's early 1900's with modern furnishing.

We stayed there last year for a week, had a blast. Our room was spotless. Every thing in great working order. Love how close it is to the parks. Whats not to like?:goodvibes
