WoC or Fireworks (RDCT) - can I do both?

I just checked the calendar on the days we are at DLR (1/18 to 1/20) and it looks like there will be no WoC during the weekdays.

So we only have Friday to see both WoC and RDCT. With the times too close to each other, is it even possible to do both?

RDCT is at 8:40, WoC is at 8:00 and 9:15 - how long is it? Can we watch the 8:00 WoC and then see the 8:40 fireworks?

WOC is like 20 min long, but with the ground you have to cover in that 20 minutes and the amount of people you will have to fight, I would think it's probably not going to happen. You will probably be able to see the fireworks after the 8 WOC, but I don't know if you will get to main street in time, so you won't hear the music.

It's possible.

View WoC at 8 from a high tier, and edge to you are near the viewing area exits. A lot of people will go to the exit after WoC end so you want to be at the front of the pack.

You will walk into DL at about 8:30 if things go smoothly. The problem is it will be packed with viewiers waiting for the fireworks. You might take any spot you see, but try for a view where you can see the Castle and Matterhorn.

I am actually a bit bummed about this. I was expecting the Fireworks to only be on the weekends, but I thought I read that WoC is normally on during the weekdays as well.

I even planned watching WoC twice! One at at VGC rooftop on our first night @ VGC and then in the park. :( Looks like I was dreaming... Heh.

Sorry about that. WoC had been planned to run everynight since it started 18 months ago, until this month when it has two set of weekdays off. They have been doing maintenance to the show infrastructure during the nights and days as the best they could for the evening shows to run, but it has a few problems they haven't been able to fix in those short times.

skiingfast, do you think the schedules could still change this close to the date? I know they've canceled things before, but I was wondering if its possible to get a surprise WoC announcement closer to the date?

Skiingfast is correct that you can see the fireworks from the Esplanade when you head on out of the DCA after seeing WoC, but when you are in DL the MS streets will be packed with guests waiting for the fireworks. It would be easier to watch the fireworks from the Esplanade instead of going inside the park and have to walk through all those people. But since it is during the off-season, you might be able to see the fireworks from down the streets of MS.

How about watching the fireworks at 8:40pm, then the 9:15pm WoC - is that better?

Not the problem with that is you are going to get a bad WoC view.

IMO it's better to use strategy for a for sure good WoC view, and then risk the fireworks view. You can at the least see the high fireworks easily, if not the low parts.

The schedule may change. It's possible but not likely. They may be trying to do a lot of work and need all the time they can get.
