A Stringbean, a Wingnut, and a plan! (A January '12 PTR) TRIP REPORT STARTED!! 1/16!!

Bistro de paris?! Lucky! We have always wanted to eat there but since we are almost always on the dining plan, it's never made it into the line up. That's fantastic news and I can't wait to hear about your experience there.

Um, favorite breakfast? I don't know for that one. There are still so many places that we have yet to try for breakfast, usually because I am always in a hurry to get to the parks. Our only breakfasts have been character meals for our little girl. I really want to try the macadamia nut pancakes at Kona.

Favorite Fireworks? Looks like I am in the minority here, but I absolutely love Wishes. I love the music, the whole show. It just feels like Disney to me and I always have to try to end my vacation with that show.

Nothing too major, just an hour here or an hour there. The 15th, not that I'll be there late enough, MK is open until midnight and its a pm EMH. So its open to resort guests until 3am!

I think it's so strange that all of those restaurants are on the DDP now! I'm not complaining though, I think that's great! Bistro sounds awesome, I'm sure you guys are going to love it! :thumbsup2

I think it's pretty strange too!! It's going to be interesting to see what they're like once on the plan for a couple of months. I'm really excited to try it!

I agree, DEFINITELY dance worthy!!

:cool1::banana::woohoo::dance3::dancer:

Thanks for dancing too!! :woohoo::banana:

That's pretty much been our reasoning for never making it there either! I'm very excited to finally go there!

The macadamia nut pancakes are really really awesome, but PACKED full of nuts, and I thought they were incredibly filling! But they are really good!

You're definitely not in the minority!! Wishes seems to be the fireworks show winner here .

I'll take a closer look, I guess I was just fearing dramatic changes and didn't really pay attention after I made sure of that! :rotfl: That's awesome about the 15th, but we won't be there either then! Boo! :(

The Bistro sounds wonderful and I have also always wanted to eat there. Perhaps I will give it a go in June. I really haven't made many ADRs. Not sure why. I'm not on the dining plan, but I really would like to try it.

Glad you called about your documents. And I hope they have arrived or will be arriving soon! :goodvibes

Well, I suppose I should be shocked to hear of another ADR change. But I'm not! Seriously, that's half the fun, rearranging or tweaking. Though Wingnut seems to have more patience than my DH for that sort of thing. When I'm in trip planning mode, I badger him incessantly for input and he's very go with the flow. Then when we get to Disney, he's all "why aren't we eating here??"

Bistro de Paris sounds heavenly. I think it's wonderful that it's included in the DP now. Is it considered a 2 TS credit on the plan? Anyhow, I think your swapping out La Hacienda for it is genius. You're already eating at La Hacienda anyway, right?

Sara, you must be getting so excited! Decemeber is almost over and January is literally just around the corner.:goodvibes

I will definitely let you know how it is! I'm super-curious to eat there!

I really hope that they come soon! If I tap my foot in impatience any longer, I may wear a hole down to the neighbors downstairs! :rotfl:

Oh I definitely think changing things around is the most fun! Wingnut usually really wants to leave the plans alone for the most part, but Bistro was far too high on his "intriguing" list to stay away from!

It is considered 2 credits on the DDP. We had dined at La Hacienda on our previous trip, and had definitely enjoyed it, but didn't mind swapping it out. The only night we won't be dining at a new place for dinner is for Jiko!

We are SO excited! I cannot believe how soon our trip is!!! :yay:

First, for my fellow P&F groupies, what I spotted in the grocery store:

Awesome :thumbsup2

Anyways, our Magical Express info has not arrived yet, but our other Mickey Mail did come! (Luggage tags, trip insurance brochure, that packet with the vouchers for the arcade and whatnot.)

The current luggage tags:

Sadly, the pictures are not holograms like on the previous version.

Wingnut today told me that he did order the slipper dessert :yay:. He apparently was trying to order a milk or dark chocolate version, but neither is available at the Contemporary or Grand Floridian. (Which is fine by me, I'm quite happy with white chocolate!). But which restaurant he ordered it from is going to be a surprise (either Citricos or California Grill). I wonder if I am going to completely and absolutely forget I harangued him to order it like last time!

Other than that, things here have pretty much been holiday central, with baking and wrapping and other festive preparations. We have big batches of candy pretzels and cookies around the apartment, ready to be bestowed on friends and family. Well, except for the one sheet of shortbread cookies that I accidentally burned. And then Wingnut claimed as his own:

(Yes, I did label the burned cookies. I had hit a labeling groove. :thumbsup2)

Well, I believe the day has come. The last two questions of the 30 day challenge. Only took 6 months!! (Yes, really, 6 months...I just checked...)

Day 29: Your Favorite Monorail Color

My favorite monorail color is the color that happens to show up and take me to where I want to go! :rotfl:

I don't really have a color preference! I love all of the vehicles of the highway of the sky equally! :grouphug:

Day 30: your Favorite Statue, Fountain, or Anything Eye-grabbing in the Parks

Definitely the Fountain of Nations.

Love

Let's stop and watch for awhile, shall we?

How about you guys? What are your favorites? Did you think I was going to finish this list before our trip??? (I didn't!)

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!! :santa:

Duuuuuuuuude I need to get those P&F Pez!! :thumbsup2

Hooray for Mickey Mail & the chocolate slipper! I bet you won't forget and you'll be looking all over for it! :goodvibes

Day 29: Your Favorite Monorail Color I love your answer! Can I use that? If not, is there a purple monorail? If so, thats my favorite color so I'll chose that. :rotfl:

Day 30: your Favorite Statue, Fountain, or Anything Eye-grabbing in the Parks This is a tie for me. Its between the Partners statue at MK & the Fountain of Nations at Epcot.

I had faith in you finishing this PTR!!

Merry Christmas!!!!! :santa:

Merry Christmas!!!!! :santa:

I know, how cute are they??? I passed them up, because I figured we'd have a lot of candy around here though!

I do love the Partners statue too...that's a close call. But it doesn't play music and put on a show like the Fountain of Nations does!

Merry Christmas to you too!! :santa:

Merry Christmas! Hope you had a magical holiday, but I have a feeling, based on all of your preparations alone, that you had a wonderful time. And now your trip is SUPER DUPER CLOSE!

Love the Phineas and Ferb Pez dispensers. Fun fact: Pez is manufactured a short twenty minute drive south of where I live.

As for the last two questions...um...I think I"m with you on both counts. :lmao:

Yeah for the slipper dessert! :thumbsup2 I love seeing pictures of it. It looks so regal and so festive. Plus yummy!

I did decide to make a ressie at the Bistro after eyeing up the menu. But the lady who did my ressie (since I can't do online here at work) told me they don't take dining entitlements. Didn't you say they ARE taking the dining plan? :confused3

Favorite monorail color - I kind of like the orange strip, but I'm gonna go with blue.

Favorite fountain or statue - I really, really love the water fountains over by Captain EO. I love how those little spouts of water come out! I'm just a kid at hear when it comes to water.

ME stuff yet?

I like the new luggage tags, but they'd be even cooler if they were holograms!

My favorite thing is the Partners statue at Magic Kingdom.

My favorite monorail is the pink one cuz it's girly...but I wouldn't stand around waiting for it to pull up! I also liked the Tronorail, but mainly because it was fun to say! :lmao:

I love looking at them too! I can't wait for my "surprise"! :rotfl:

Yay!!! Ok. According to the DDP PDF on the Disney website, they ARE taking the dining plan starting in 2012. When I made the ADR on their website, it did say that they are not taking the entitlements. But my guess is that it will switch over in 2012, they just don't want to mislead for this remaining week? I'm hoping I'm not wrong!

I love that fountain too!!! It's so fun!

NO not yet!!! I'm beginning to get nervous!!!

Agreed! Holograms make everything cooler!

The pink one is fun, but I really don't notice a difference between any of them usually! (Well, except for the Tronorail, of course!).

No ME packet yet...:sad2:

Admittedly, this is only day 8 of the 7-10 business day window that the CM said the information would be arriving, but still. We have very few double digit days left. And I'm impatient. I just want my Magical Express info! (I want it now!!)

Anyways.

Want to see what Wingnut gave me for Christmas? :santa:

(Yes, he really did write that. No, I didn't remember to take a picture before I had unwrapped the gift. There's that impatience again...)

Isn't it adorable???

It's one of the crossbody bags! I love those, they're especially perfect for park touring!

Ignore my feet in this next picture, I wanted to show the cutest part of the bag, but couldn't figure out how to get it to stand up .

Look at the colors!!! I love it!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

That bag is really cute, I almost got one on my December trip but I went with the wristlet. I just called ME last night to get more luggage tags. Now the wait for me begins, let's see if you get your ME stuff before I get my tags! I hope so!

What a cute bag. I love crossbody bags in general and they are perfect for the parks. I love how even the zipper matches the rest of the bag. What detail. Nice Christmas gift! :goodvibes

Hooray for Wingnut and his superior gift! I have that bag (in pink, of course :lmao:), and it's perfect for the parks...just the right size to fit the necessities.

It's almost like Disney and Dooney got together and PLANNED it that way! :rotfl:
