Hotel advice for 5

We will be in Orlando Feb-16-25.
Feb. 19-22, we will be with a school group in Disney. That is all taken care of.

We were planning to go to Discovery Cove on Sat. the 18th. And, then maybe over to cocoa beach after the 22nd.
We do have 5 travelling, so I know the options are less.

Does anyone have any accomodation suggestions for the beginning or end of our trip?

If you want to stay in Disney then POR-Riverside allow you to have 5 in one room in the Alligator bayou section. The have a small fold bed that says will sleep a child (up to age 9). You are looking around $200 a night. If you dont care try some of the Hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd in DTD. I've stayed at the Courtyard in Cocoa Beach. Very nice place, but like the reviews say, the pool is cold.
Someone would have to sleep on a sofabed with a party of 5, if you want to stick to 1 room.

The other place that looks nice is the Ron Jon Cape Caribe resort.
Again, one person would have to sleep on a sofabed

My wife and I have been to Coco Beach a few times but we find the Clearwater/St. Petersburg beaches far better. The sunsets are incredible. The water warmer, beaches nicer. It is less than 2 hours from Disney and all highway. The area offers so much more as well. Prices spring time of year are pricier but we like to stay at the Alden Resort in St. Pete's beach (Luani Beachfront units). They have rooms with small kitchens, seperate bedroom with doubles pluss a sofa sleeper in the livingroom. Very good balcony with dolphins occasionally seen from it. Televisions in both. Two pools, two hot tubs and an outdoor meal area with 3 gas grilles. We pay about $127.00 a night in the fall. Clean and well serviced.
They offer discounts for booking ahead.

Is this accurate that you can only book POR with 5 if you have a child (9 and under)?

You can book POR with 5 regardless of age... just know that the one who is stuck with the Murphy/Trundle bed is going to be uncomfortable if he/she is over 9. Neither option is much bigger than a crib mattress.

I would consider Bonnet Creek for a family of 5. You could get a 2 bedroom there for around $120/night.

We only need to be in the area for 3 nights then will be at All-Star Movies with the group we will be with. We don't necessarily have to stay on Disney property as we will be doing other things the first few days.

you can do 5 in a room at holiday inn Lake Buena Vista, spacious rooms., if you get a rollaway ordered. It is tight with the rollaway but it is tight with 5 at Port orleans and the rollaway is a full twin bed at Holiday Inn. We did it a few yrs back for two nights.

I dont know if with the new trundle type going in if anyone over 9 will fit or the weight of someone over 9 would fit on it as they are built on a box of sorts. The weight would worry me in regards to sturdiness.

they also put in queen beds so there is even less floor room. That I think will blow the idea of a blow up mattress of any kind.

We have not been to Orlando in a couple years. I truly forgot how many hotel choices there were!
