The Duck family goes on safari.....who will get voted off first. ??? Updated 1/6!!

Your rocket must not have been working. Maybe you should consult Barry for "rocket van" advice next time.:rotfl2:

My rocket van worked just fine. It was the Sputnik model that was trailing me that had the issues. BTW, it was a Ford :lmao:

Excellent! I had the MI theme music running through my head the entire time I was reading along. In fact it’s still going on up there in what’s left of my mind as I type this. When I read the bit about the “Chicken Dance” the tune changed for a moment or two (which was rather disconcerting), but the MI score is just too infectious to be denied. I’ll have to remember that and use it as my defense mechanism when ever I’m in or reminded of IASW (the great nemesis of all music).

Great update. Now all the names make sense and I’ve got images in my mind to use for each of them as I read about the rest of the trip.

Stay tuned for the exciting description of our drive through Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia!
Flat. Hilly. Hilly. Hilly, then flat.

That about sums it up, right?

The van is a finely tuned piece of high performance equipment. It can be very dangerous in the wrong hands. Namely, mine.

Nice start Duck. Can't wait to read more!:thumbsup2

You will be undercover for six days as a family who “likes” one another.

:lmao: So how close did you guys come to blowing your cover? That's the big question.

Also, will there be promotional tie-ins between this TR and the upcoming movie? Specifically, let us know if you'll be hanging off the side of any skyscrapers. :thumbsup2

Well, I'm late to the party, but I like what I'm reading. Keep it up!

So I'm relatively new to the whole TR thing so you can think of yours as a sort of training run for me. :thumbsup2 Looking forward to it!
Me too!!
The photos I had on the documents are not copying over, so I apologize. I am not very techy or IT literate as some of you already know.
My long lost brother! So nice to see there's another one out there. I'm still trying to get the clock on my Beta VCR to stop flashing.

Her chicken dance is not of the wedding kind, but an invention all her own. It can't be seen without spitting twizzlers or liquid out of your mouth :lmao:

My van was ready for glory and exploration! Then it was chained to a boulder that didn't want to go more then 65 :scared1:

It was scary close at times to be honest. I almost had to wack a few of them to keep the mission intact.

I'll hang off a skyscraper if you'll ride Tower of Terror :lmao: I wouldn't want Tom Cruise to feel bad seeing what a Disdad could do with some rope, weapons and fast cars!! Oh wait, that's FED's life :lmao:

You have a VCR?? We have been thinking about finally getting one
My IT department at work has nightmares about guys like us :rotfl:

Quack quack! I'm here...reading along while AT Walt DisneyWorld (at least for now).

Wow, you must be a lucky duck to have a DVC insider on your team. Sweetness.

Nice nicknames, especially Lizzy Poo. Thanks for getting the MI theme stuck in my head. It replaced "manah manah" from my trek to Downtown Disney this evening.

Where are the pictures? You promised pictures. I want to see some pictures of Kidani... oh wait, I can drive over there myself tomorrow.

Welcome :cool1: the pictures are coming. It is all about building the excitement, so I have been told :thumbsup2

Your thread title made me :rotfl:. Then I started to read your report. I'm onboard. Can't wait for the next one. popcorn::

So I last left you on the morning we were set to depart. We were able to get out the door at 4:15am, 15 minutes late, but not too bad. Because we had 9 in our party we would be taking two mini vans. I was concerned about the in-laws keeping up with the speed limit since they do not like to drive fast. Stay tuned to see how much I complain about this.

We stopped for breakfast outside of Louisville at Cracker Barrel. I love Cracker Barrel. It is one of the few restaurants where my kids can find something that they will eat. I won’t bore you with all of the details of the wonderfully long drive through Hicktucky and Tennessee.

We did have our first scare with the luggage carrier right outside of Atlanta. The rear lock latch broke off! Let me repeat broke off! The lid lifted (it was locked), but luckily nothing came out. My FIL had a lock strap that we used to hold it down. There will be more on this later. We finally made it to Valdosta around 8:15pm that night. We got a family suite at the Holiday inn and it held all 9 of us…see below:

The plan was to leave Valdosta by 9am the next morning. So at 10:15 we finally get going (do you smell a theme here???) It was a pretty uneventful drive, stop for some free juice, enjoy the sunshine, sing Disney songs, have the other lock on the luggage carrier break!!!

This time the front one broke completely off. We Tightened the strap as tight it would go and prayed we would make it to Kidani in one piece! We finally pulled in around 2:00pm. Kidani was such a sight for tired eyes! It was absolutely beautiful! Our room was not quite ready so we strolled around and enjoyed the Savannah. I got a text about fifteen minutes later saying our room was ready 7825! We did not have much time to enjoy the room, since we had to get ready for our ADR at 1900 Park Fare. I will go over my impressions of Kidani later.

We were concerned that they would not be able to work our larger party in. When I had called earlier in the week they said they did not have room for a larger party. We got there 45 minutes before our time so I could go and explain the situation at the check in desk. The young lady was very helpful and said she would be able to work us in but it might be a little later than 6:10. I told her no problem and went on way to taking pics of the beautifully decorated GF.

At 6:15 our buzzer thingy went off and it was time to get our eat on! I enjoy the food here and the character interaction is great. This would be my niece’s first encounter with a Princess and I thought she was going to explode! Dinner was a lot of fun and I think everyone enjoyed it. We hung around a little longer to take some more pictures and I made a side stop with one of my DD’s to get her first official Mickey head earrings. Tomorrow we head for HS and spend some time at the pool in the AM.

Will there be water boarding enforced for making me late? What measures will I go to get my message across! Stay tuned…same Duck time…same Duck channel.

Sure... blame the in-laws.:lmao:

Wow, you have a bunch of early risers with you.:rolleyes1

That's great! I'm glad it worked out for you.:thumbsup2

And that makes the last second plan changes worthwhile.:thumbsup2

Nice update & photos. Although Little Man doesn't seem to be too thrilled standing in that pic with the Prince - perhaps he was upset he didn't get to get a pic with Cindy instead? :confused3 I know I'd rather have my picture taken with a princess than a prince... but maybe that's just me.
