"There’s NO Sleeping in Disney!” SURPRISE - The Frumps Are Back Again! UPDATE 1/13

Have you guys seen the Muppets yet?! Gah! SO GOOD! I'm glad there's so much appreciation for them still in the world! I love the different perspective on the fireworks, I've only ever watched them from the Hub, it looks pretty cool!

I am so glad you have chapter links, because I need to get caught up! I subbed to this TR right before my trip in September, then I left and came back and somehow never caught up! I think I left off on day 1 of your trip! Well, since I have pretty much all weekend to be on and off the DIS, I can hopefully read all of your updates! :cool1:

I noticed your ticker too, you're going back in December, how fun, there is no better time to visit, Disney World is so magical during the holidays! :dance3: I begged my husband during our Sept/Oct trip to agree to a short trip in December just to see the holiday decorations, and now we're going back in 2 weeks, I can't wait!!! :woohoo:

Oh yay I'm glad you appreciate them! Haha aww.. well the TR will always be here for your reading enjoyment and whatever pace you like! :) I hope you had a nice trip, though!
Yes we are!! HOORAY! I'm so excited!! I haven't been there for Christmas since I was 10, and that was before we really did Disney the right way. (Not that there IS a right way... but my own personal opinion of "the right way" for my lifestyle haha) But yeah, it's going to be very magical! And AHHH that's AWESOME! I'm so so so glad he agreed! I hope you both have a wonderful time! It's coming up soon!

Have you guys seen the Muppets yet?! Gah! SO GOOD! I'm glad there's so much appreciation for them still in the world! I love the different perspective on the fireworks, I've only ever watched them from the Hub, it looks pretty cool!

We are actually going to the muppet movie TOMORROW NIGHT!!! We are so so SO excited... we're making a whole night out of it. I am so excited to see it... and I'm glad to hear they're still being appreciated! It makes me sad when people don't know who the muppets are! I'm like..... WHAT!? :scared1:
And yes that was very cool! I love seeing the fireworks from all different views.. they're so beautiful! :goodvibes

Chapter 21: Cinnamon Rolls, Extra Frumpy Hours, and M-I-C-K-E-Y, F-R-U-M-P!
August 21st, 2011

The Extra Magic Hours just kept continuing! We headed to Liberty Square next to take a ride on the Haunted Mansion.

dsc0649b.jpg

You know in that first room with the door knockers, that red chair that looks like it has a face on it, and the wallpaper that has eyes? Well... that whole entire scene reminds me of VMK. How many of you guys used to play that a couple years ago? That was my FAVORITE thing in the whole entire world. I am still heartbroken over the fact that they closed it.

For those of you who don't know, VMK was "Virtual Magic Kingdom," and it was basically exactly what it sounds like. It was the Magic Kingdom ONLINE... with games, merchandise to collect, rooms to design, etc. AHH it was the best thing ever created. I wish it was still open.

So anyways, my point is that every time I go through that scene I always reminisce about VMK and the whole haunted mansion area. It really was spectacular. The details were phenomenal, and it was just Disney ALL over the place ALL the time. I can't even get over how great it was. WHY DID IT CLOSE!?!

Anyways... enough about me yearning for my long gone childhood. </3

We enjoyed the Haunted Mansion as per usual... and I still am amazed by those cool new hitchhiking ghosts. I LOVE them.

After visiting the 999 happy haunts, we were ready to move on! Well, me, Nat, and Kristen were. Sue, Scott, and Sarah decided to head back for the night. We said good night and parted ways.

Our next stop was... SPLASH MOUNTAIN! Hooray, hooray, hooray!!

dsc0650v.jpg

I'm tellin' ya though, the whole time we were there, this ride was in rough shape! We noticed a number of things that were just broken down!

For example, some of the lights in the first scene were off. The water was not "jumping" in the laughing place scene. The vultures were not TALKING! And most importantly....

"THE BIRD WAS DEAD!!"

dsc0984h.jpg

(The circled birds are the dead ones.)

That's what I yelled when I saw this horrid sight. Actually, multiple birds were dead.. aka not moving and just lying there with their little tambourines. They missed out on the best sing along in the history of all time!

I can see the headlines now: THE BIRD FLU INVADES SPLASH MOUNTAIN.

dsc0985q.jpg

Overall these animals were not in tip top condition. However, we loved the ride anyway. We had a great time, and for this ride photo, we decided to PRAISE THE LORD!

dsc0652jz.jpg

AHHHHHHHH!!!!! - splash -

I know. We're nuts.

Is it just me, or does it seem like you don't get as wet on Splash Mountain anymore? I used to remember getting soaked and now I barely get water on me. Even when I sit in the front! I don't know maybe it's just me.

After our lovely ride, we went out through the Laughin' Place gift shop.

dsc0654at.jpg

I saw this shirt and I thought it had such a precious graphic on it. So I took a picture. I'm such a sucker for Mickey and Minnie merchandise. Like... nothing can possibly be cuter.

dsc0655k.jpg

Good night to all of the Splash Mountain Characters!

dsc0656y.jpg
dsc0657d.jpg

We decided it was time to start making our way towards the exit. We took a few pictures on our way out:

dsc0660zp.jpg

dsc0662c.jpg
dsc0663q.jpg

However, we were not leaving yet. OH NO. We had a VERY important mission to accomplish.

Getting a Cinnamon Roll from Main Street Bakery!

My very first one.

EVER.

In the history of ALL TIME!

dsc00214ka.jpg

This was monumental.

And yes, we recorded it. So you'll get to see the whole thing!

We walked in and I was pretty much jumping out of my skin. I was SO excited!! I walked right up to the counter and ordered my Cinnamon Roll! Finally... the time had come!

dsc00215e.jpg

The Cast Member that helped us out was named David and he was a french boy.

And thanks to my brilliant video camera, a picture was taken of David for you all to see. That video camera just takes random pictures at such opportune moments.

dsc00216v.jpg

Apparently, even though I was a total frump, Kristen and Nat claimed that David was checking me out the whole time. LOL my french boy. So that was a recurring joke of the night. Especially considering how tired we were!

Obviously, I was a little too wrapped up in the moment to notice such things.

dsc00217c.jpg

We grabbed a table right in the middle of the bakery and devoured the cinnamon roll! But not before some FOOD PICTURES!!

dsc0666bc.jpg

dsc0667v.jpg

dsc0668fs.jpg

It was SO good! It was a little dry on the bottom, but the middle was DIVINE. Mmmmmm I want another one. YUM!

dsc00223hr.jpg

And even after my loaf of Kona bread, I devoured this thing. Anything made out of bread is probably just my favorite food in the world. No big deal.

dsc00222u.jpg

So, we sat in the bakery for a LONG time. We were eating, laughing, video taping, and being deliriously tired. It was one of those moments where you just love life... because nothing can get better than that. Sitting with your two best friends in Disney World eating delicious food and capturing it all on tape. Like really... that's when you know life is good.

We laughed and laughed and laughed. I tried to see if David would look at me again if I went to go get a water... however, he was gone by the time I got up. Dang. I always miss these things!! I'm so oblivious to the world sometimes.

Kristen decided to zoom in on random people with the video camera, which added some interest to our upcoming video.

After a good while, we decided it was time to go. We had to get up early the next morning. So we got up from the table... and out of no where, Kristen just SNORTED. So loud. And I thought it was THE FUNNIEST thing of my life. I was so tired. Seriously.

So I basically just sat back down and sat there for 5 minutes straight laughing so hard I was crying. I LOVE LAUGHING THAT HARD! It hasn't happened in oh so long....

But anyways, yeah. That was really funny. And this was probably one of the top frumpiest nights Disney World has ever seen... no big deal.

Once I calmed down a bit, we headed out and frumped it down Main Street to the Exit. On the way out, a cast member had BUBBLES! I got SUPER excited all over again. EEEE I love bubbles!!

We thanked her for adding that extra bit of magic to our night, and then we made it to the turnstiles.

Only to realize that Kristen had to PEE. So what did we do? We headed back into the Magic Kingdom!

"WE JUST CAN'T LEAVE THIS PLACE!"

We went to the bathroom, and then headed back to the exit.

dsc00246i.jpg

So after that, Kristen had this revelation. She asked... "What if... there was Kristen's... FRUMP-harmagic?"

dsc00247ul.jpg

We thought that was pretty funny.

While we were leaving the bathroom, Nat saw this little boy with a Toy Story shirt on. She was like "OH! I like your shirt!" And the kid just stared at her. And this was not the only time this happened on this trip! We concluded that people really just don't react in predictable ways when you tell them you like their shirt. You would think they would thank you... but no. They think you're strange. I just don't understand.

We exited the Magic Kingdom once again, and this time we really did leave!

dsc00245sf.jpg

On our way out, the "Mickey Mouse Club March" was playing, and we realized that MOUSE and FRUMP have the same number of letters in them.

So I bet you can guess where this was headed.

We began to sing....

M-I-C-K-E-Y, F-R-U-M-P!!!

It was bound to happen at some point, who are we kidding?

Then Kristen's idea came back to her. So she began a long list of ideas where the word "frump" could be substituted for part of an attraction's name. For example:

Frump-edition Everest
Frump-o
Frump-erella's Castle
etc.

I 100% swear that we are not 5 years old. And we were not under the influence of any alcohol whatsoever. This just happens at 1 in the morning during extra magic hours when you are running on no sleep and are full of cinnamon roll goodness.

However, us frumps were petering out at this point. The bus took about 10-15 minutes to arrive. They sent one of the old busses with orange seats to pick us up. It was weird. I felt like I was transported back into the 90's. (here comes my childhood flashbacks again...) We had to stand, too, which is always quite tiring.

The ride seemed to take a LONG time, but we were back in the room and asleep by 2 am. Not too bad. We had another big day coming up tomorrow!

Bahahaha you guys are insane! I love it!!
We have had a few dead birds in the past on Splashie. Takes away from the mood just a little hmmm what is in the water at the laughing place these days?
But good work praising the lord mid plummet!
That cinnamon roll looks so yum! and I love frenchie's 15 seconds of fame.
Oh gosh your late night frumpy delirious behavior is amazing!!
I especially love your video camera lurking. So great! Hellloo strangers.
Wow with all this naming of new attractions you could pretty much open a new Walt Frumpy World. Where everyone must continually make deer faces and burst out into musical numbers every couple of minutes. And there would be much Kona bread...
Love it!

What kind of camera do you have? Your low light and night pics are awesome!
Thanks.

Thanks Tinkgurl for the Kona Bread recipe! I can't wait to try that out. Hope it turns out good despite my lack of baking skills.

You guys are just hilarious! I remember well those frumpy nights staying up extra late with my friends and laughing so hard at the smallest thing. Fun times!

Why is it that every time I read your update I get hungry again? Now I want a cinnamon roll. I have the Pillsbury rolls in my fridge, but I know that it just won't taste the same.

Okay...so a quick question...did you change the deer image on the first introduction post?! Sorry...that was just gnawing at me. Haha...I'm such a dork. :) Great videos by the way. They're amazing! They're stunning! They're extraordinary! They're a step towards a new innovative way of TRing! :) WHen I go in March...I am SO totally making videos...if you don't mind me stealing your DISNEY-tastic idea! ;) Keep up the great work! I'm here to stay! popcorn::

LOL- I'm giggling at your frumpiness. I never played VMK, but read about it in the KK books- sounds like it was very cool!

AND- I was reading People magazine today, and I saw this picture- I had to post it for you, even though I have no idea if you are into Twilight- I knew you would like this picture:
IMG_3150.JPG

So once again, I love your videos!!! They are too funny. I swear, yall are me and my friends.

AH the Haunted Mansion! How fitting that I am listening to the Liberty Square loop right now. Yes, this is how I spend my Friday night, ladies and gents. YOU ALL WISH YOU WERE THIS AWESOME. (They probably really do.) :thumbsup2

Um what the heck? Did Disney forget that MK was having EMH and like turn off PART OF the ride? What up Splash Mountain? WHAT UP?

Um, could that cinnamon roll BE any bigger? (CHANDLER BING REFERENCE, RIGHT THERE. I am gonna do this A LOT, fyi.) But really. It's huge. And OMG I was just thinking to myself... she must just really like bread based food products. AND THEN YOU SAID IT. So funny! I'm glad it was good! It looks delicious but oh so big. And PS that guy was checking you out. There is no question about it. See how in the video (because apparently I already memorized it) when you are still standing in front of the counter and the two CMs behind the counter, one of whom is David, are both like staring at you and whispering-ish. They dig ya.

BUBBLES. (MY BUBBLES.)
That kid with the Toy Story shirt. :lmao: He was probably at his 'um that's a girl and I don't know how I feel about girls because I'm a boy and girls have cooties but she's pretty' stage. He was thinking all that in his head, thus he had no time to respond... but don't worry. If Nat ever compliments my shirt, I will say thanks.
I loved the "Snow White's Frumpy Adventures" idea.

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving! And HOW DID BLACK FRIDAY GO?

Your Frump renovation ideas are simply frumptastic. Kristen should definitely pitch them to Disney, they'll go for it. :rotfl:

I love Splash so much, but those dead birds are not acceptable. I've been listening to the song from the ride all week. :lovestruc The reason you didn't feel like you got wet enough is probably because the jets were turned off.
That cinnamon bun looks amazing! Is it as good as Cinnabon? The perfect snack to end the night. :)

Hahaha, I love this update! Some of the best times at Disney are during magic hours, when you're so tired you can barely function, but you can't make yourself leave the park!

Dead birds on Splash!! They must have fixed them when I was there in October, because I didn't notice them! I did notice there wasn't much water in the actual ride though, and we did get stuck for like 10 minutes! That Splash shirt is too cute! :lovestruc

I have yet to try Main Street Bakery, but I definitely want to! Awww, poor David! I'm sure he knows he can't compete with a cinnamon roll!

VMK! Ohh... I miss VMK too much. And the poor little thing got so much recognition here. Yay :goodvibes I wish it would come back sooooo bad. I'm seriously tearing up now. I'm so sad.

Now on a less rambly and strange note:
I wonder if I knew you. I played from Beta day 1- May 21, 2008. I was SmileGirl.

David... Actually, I prefer, Francois, was TOTALLY checking you out.

'Is that a threat around here?' is the funniest thing I've heard all day.

As I started reading this, the Splash Mountain Medley came up on shuffle. Clearly, itunes knows whats up.

Why didn't Disney cover up the dead birds or something? I mean, it's supposed to be all happy and zip-a-dee-doo-dah-ing, not creepy and nightmarish.

Yep, they turned off the water cannon that used to unload on the boats as you circled around the drop toward the beginning of the ride. I'm so glad. That was the worst. I don't mind getting wet, but getting drenched and then being held captive in dark, air conditioned rooms for the rest of the ride is just not fair.

MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm Cinnamon Roll

Is that Kristen singing "The Sound of Music"? I love it. I do the "A-a-a-aahhhhh" all the time. It's like my thing. :rotfl:

There is no better feeling than laughing until you cry. It's the best.

I would camp out for hours to see Illuminations: Reflections of Frump. You guys need to make that happen. :thumbsup2

Oh thank you hahaha :rotfl:
Yeah I don't know what got into them! It threw me off a bit... but then I thought it was funny.
Oh thank you. He deserves praising at all times. :lmao:
It was SO good! And LOL thank God Nat just taped that whole experience.
Oh thank you again :p And LOL that is all Kristen's doing. It is HILARIOUS.
Yeah we basically could... and that is EXACTLY what would happen. YESSS.

What kind of camera do you have? Your low light and night pics are awesome!
Thanks.

I have a Nikon D3100 :) And I use iPhoto to fix any flaws. Thank you!

Thanks Tinkgurl for the Kona Bread recipe! I can't wait to try that out. Hope it turns out good despite my lack of baking skills.

Ahh I forgot to post that in the update. I'll edit it in.
Thank you so much hahaha. I know, right?! Those are the best nights.
I completely understand. But hey, Pillsbury rolls are FANTASTIC. I love them, I love them, I love them!

LOL yes I did. My friend Maggie showed us that picture and I love it even more than the other one. :rotfl:
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like them. You definitely should! They are lots of fun! They're time consuming... but worth it :thumbsup2
I will!

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving! And HOW DID BLACK FRIDAY GO?

Oh thank you!!
I love when I'm reading TR's and the appropriate soundtrack is playing in the background!
I love Chandler!! Speaking of friends.... I got the entire DVD set on Black Friday!! I think I'm gonna have my grandma give it to me for christmas hahaha. I got it for $70 cheaper than usual though so that was AWESOME! I'm so incredibly excited!
Hahaha yeah I am a carb queen. I love ALL THINGS MADE OF CARBS! Oh well.
HAHAHA oh thanks. Oh David. LOL I'm glad we captured than entire thing on tape!
Oh boys... at any age they are just clueless LOL. And oh good I'm glad someone would!
And thank you! Thanksgiving was great and so was Black Friday! I will be doing a real life update on that eventually!

You guys are too funny!

I completely agree with you about Splash Mountain, you barely get wet!

Thank you, thank you haha.
And yeah I know! I feel ripped off.

Your Frump renovation ideas are simply frumptastic. Kristen should definitely pitch them to Disney, they'll go for it.

I love Splash so much, but those dead birds are not acceptable. I've been listening to the song from the ride all week. The reason you didn't feel like you got wet enough is probably because the jets were turned off.
That cinnamon bun looks amazing! Is it as good as Cinnabon? The perfect snack to end the night.

Hahaha I know. Brilliance right there. They need people like us working for them, I'm tellin ya!
I know! What a sad sight. And ahh I love the Splash Mountain Loop. And yeah that's probably it. Do they ever turn the jets on?
And hmmm I don't think I've ever had cinnabon so I'm not sure! But yes it definitely was!!

Hahaha, I love this update! Some of the best times at Disney are during magic hours, when you're so tired you can barely function, but you can't make yourself leave the park!

Hahaha oh thank you. I completely agree! They make for some great stories!
Oh yay I'm glad they were fixed! Oh goodness I hate getting stuck! Sorry that happened! And yeah I thought so too!
You NEED to! It's a dangerous place because the temptation is through the roof... however at the same time it is BEAUTIFUL.
And LOL yeah boys and food are in tough competition in my book :rotfl:

VMK!

I miss it too!! It was seriously such an amazing game. I can't even describe how much I miss it.
And you know... I've been thinking about it and your name does sound familiar! Did you have green flips? (oh my God I have not asked someone that question in YEARS hahaha :rotfl:)

David... Actually, I prefer, Francois, was TOTALLY checking you out.

'Is that a threat around here?' is the funniest thing I've heard all day.

HAHAHA oh thanks. :lmao: I know... the first time I rewatched this tape and Kristen said "Francois" I just about died.
And LOL we had some pretty fantastic one liners that night i have to say.

Awww yeahh! The perfect mood music for this update! haha speaking of which, I've been listening to Christmas music all day. I need Disney music. I'm switching it.
Okay! Splash Mountain. I'm good.
Hahaha I know it IS creepy!
Ahh is that it? That's what I thought! I wish we would get more wet after the big drop... it just doesn't do a justice. Maybe by the end of the day, though, the water is running low.
MMMMMMMM.
Why yes, that is the sound of music! Haha I was Liesl when my school did that musical last year, so that musical holds a special place in my heart!
I 100% agree!
Hahaha we'll get workin' on it! :thumbsup2

Hi Jess! I'm SOOOO sorry I haven't commented on this TR in forever. This is like the first time I've commented in awhile. I feel so bad. Today will be my catch-up week and I will be back up to speed and begin to run victory laps around Kristen again since I'm losing poorly to her in our little posting race we had going. Well, bye for now! :teeth:

I mean, there is no shame in loving bread. I LOVE IT TOO. Have you ever been to an O'Charley's? They have some good rolls there too. Although I'm sure that they have nothing on the Kona bread. :rotfl:
I bet the real life update will be lots of fun to read! And YAY for Friends! That's why I asked about Black Friday cuz I knew you were gonna be looking for it! I'm SO excited that you got it! That's gonna be one of the best investments you've ever made. It just never stops being funny. It's also VERY useful if you're ever having a bad day! Basically yeah, you're gonna love having that!
ANYWAYS (I keep going off on Friends tangents, I can't even help it), hope you have a good week! I'll look forward to your next update, real life or Disney! :)
