Association Meeting Questions

With all of the issues that are going on with the DVC, I'm wondering if we should put together a list of questions that someone could ask at the meeting or maybe personally pass on to Claire Bilby on behalf of the DIS Boards DVC Members?

Under our DIS Policy, no petitions or group forms are allowed on the DIS. You may encourage people to contact Disney/DVC as individuals, but no group efforts. You are allowed, of course, to discuss the issues you'd like to see addressed, but you can not designate anyone to to present any sort of petition. Nor can you post a "fill in the blank" type contact letter.

Generally, there isn't a lot of Q & A time given, and they can easily side step any true answer with "We'll look into it."

That said, while I do not own at BLT, I'd like to se them aaddress some of the reportedly shoddy workmanship in the building. I'd also like some info on how we, as members can have more input on rehab materials. The recent OKW rehab has some good points, but also has some issues that could have been designed better...like the blinds.

I totally agree. Especially about those darned blinds at OKW! I also think the vinyl "wood" floors look cheap too.

They are not going to allow more than 1 question per member at the meeting. They will give a fluff answer and that will be it.

I didn't attend the last meeting, but I read the comments and notes on here and other boards about it. In the meeting, the DVC Board unanimously elected Jim Lewis as President.

Was there another vote some time in the year to replace him with Claire, or was this just a Disney management decision and technically Jim is still Pres until this meeting?

I guess the Board will simply elect Claire as President this time without any member input, huh?

The association title has nothing to do with the company title.

Lewis was President of DVD and also president of the condo association elected and voted for by the people who worked for him.

Claire is Vice President, (no more president title) of DVD and will no doubt be elected as President of the association by her employees.

Likely Jim Lewis also tendered his resignation as DVC Association president, and the Association VP has been filling in (or perhaps Claire was appointed President Pro-Tempore by an emergency board meeting) until the formal meeting.

I'll be freezing up here far north of the border, but I'm hoping that a BLT owner gets to ask about the BLT workmanship/wear&tear issues and, if need be, about the 8.5% dues increase. Then hopefully a kind DIS DVCer will report about it here!
