"One More Waffle!" An October 2011 TR! *Update 4/24, pg 70-The End!*

What a beautiful view at WL!! I think that would be amazing to wake up to every morning!! :goodvibes

YAY for the park being empty :thumbsup2 that is really good that you could take advantage of DHS that morning

I think your drawing is REALLY good and you should frame that!! I would be excited if I was able to draw that well

Yay, I didn't know you were staying at Pop too! I'm still not sure about MVMCP...I probably won't decide until next week sometime. I have Mickey lights I want to bring for my window, but I want to do something else...I'm looking for Christmas Disney Window clings, but I can't find any yet! Ugh!

We can try to meet up at Pop (if I don't end up changing resorts of course! :rotfl:) but I don't want to commit to anything just yet! I would feel bad if we set something up and then was too tired to show up or something! :rotfl:

Well we still have a few days, maybe we'll set something up when we get closer? I have multiple Disney window clings that might be making their way down with me for the trip. I got Winnie the Pooh ones at Walgreen's they had Princess ones too. And then different Winnie the Pooh and Mickey and friends ones at Dollar Tree. I have a dry erase board from my trip last year, which I want to decorate to go on the door. Even if it's a hi nice to meet ya while passing by so we can say we actually saw another DIS-er. I'm meeting up with another DIS-er hopefully Saturday night and Sunday during MVMCP and she's staying at Pop too and then over to the WL.

Tower of Terror is totally my new favorite ride. It's so awesome! Besides the little hiccup with RNR, looks like a fun and successful morning at DHS.

Oh, and if TOT is my favorite ride, the drawing class is my favorite activity to do at Disney! I drew that Jiminy Cricket too once. I teach art to my grade 5s so I've been teaching them how to draw the characters I drew at Disney. So far we've done Pluto and Buzz Lightyear and they LOVE it! Some of them are amazing artists.

Wow Jen - your JC is really, really good! :worship: Nice job! You should frame it.

Oh that writer's stop - that cookie looks so darn good! Yum!

I can't wait to try Star Wars. I stink at TSM but we will definitely get FP's for it because Nicholas has never done it. His last trip was in summer and well, if you don't get to the park first thing in the morning, forget about getting a FP!

Nice pictures and fun morning. I get coaster headaches too. :sad2: Hate them!

I really really REALLY want to try one of the carrot cake cookies, they look awesome (especially for breakfast! :thumbsup2)!

It seems to be kind of random/when it's cold out when the umbrella isn't turned on. I definitely have had the water be on while the Osborne lights are up (in early January), but then in other times in December they've been off. I do love tricking my travel companions into standing closer to the umbrella while I hit the little square :rotfl:.

Before each trip, I tell myself that I'm going to slow down and appreciate the details and the little things that make a Disney trip so special. I actually had one of these moments, walking to Star Tours. I was looking up at the palm trees and noticed how beautiful the sun looked coming through the trees and I just felt so happy at that moment. Happy to be in the warm Florida sun, in Disney World, on a quiet morning in Hollywood Studios.

Okay, I just updated in my TR what went on on MY morning that day and it was WAY different than admiring the sun and the trees like you did!! :rotfl:

Sounds like a great morning. I especially like the WL balcony and am hoping to have the exact same view when we stay there in February. LOVE that resort!!

Wow, that view from WL is beautiful. I would've been out there every morning, probably forgetting to get ready for the parks in time.

I love going really slow in DHS and enjoying all the little details. Those palm trees with the sun behind them just scream, "Florida!" :thumbsup2

I love that you got to draw Jiminy Cricket! I don't think I've heard of him being drawn much. Even as drawing impaired as I am, I would totally go through the experience to get Jiminy!

I understand what you mean about the head positioning on RNRC. Even though it's one of my favorite rides, I always fear getting a headache on it. Usually, when I hear Aerosmith start to scream, "3!...2!..." I try really hard to make sure my head is against the center of the headrest. It's like my que.:rotfl:

You drawing is great...I would definitely frame it! It far beats my drawing of Rapunzel...who looks like an alien. Maybe one day I'll scan it in here.

I don't think my kids have ever seen that umbrella in action...and I don't think I have either. Must add it as a must-do for our next trip! ;)

Oh my what an amazing view to wake up to during your trip! :thumbsup2

Lol I understand too well about the morning battles and go through them myself on a regular basis!! :rotfl:

Yay on DHS being pretty empty and getting TSMM FPs!

I'm glad you took that pic of the sun coming out as it is absolutely amazing!! That carrot cake cookie looks yummy - I soo have to get my hands on one on a future trip.

Your Jiminy Cricket drawing came out great - I agree in that you should frame it.

We were at DHS that morning for emh too! It really was a great morning to go. We got so much accomplished all before 11am. We also ate at the writer's stop haha. While I didn't try the carrot cake cookie I did have a few danishes which were really good. I really like that place too.

It is funny you mention the sun and the palm trees and how happy you were ...I felt the exact same way during our last trip as I was sitting outside Star Tours waiting for family to get off of the the ride. It was at that moment that I slowed down and just took in the atmosphere and truly enjoyed the feeling of being there :lovestruc

Your picture of JC is really good!! You should frame it!!:thumbsup2

Thanks! OMG, those AP's are causing such a problem in my life! I keep thinking of ways that I can run off to Disney for a few days!

LOL, well, if I was being really budget friendly, I wouldn't upgrade or do MVMCP...I think right now though, MVMCP is winning, however, that's just because I keep checking for rooms at POFQ and it's still booked. One opened a couple days ago, but it was for a King Size bed, and I just want a standard room!

Isn't it SO tempting to upgrade? I would be doing the same thing if I was staying at AKV, the savannah is so beautiful!

P.S., I totally caved and upgraded us to Savannah View for our six nights at AKL. At least I'm renting points so it wasn't THAT much more per night. :rolleyes1

Sunshine and Palm Trees!

I think DHS is a really beautiful park, something that often gets overlooked when people whine about the lack of things to do compared with other parks.

Although I was nervous about drawing, I think my picture came out ok:

P1000358.jpg

I kind of want to frame it!

Your picture turned out awesome!

P1000367.jpg

Once again, I beat Brandon (my score is in blue!) and just like last year, he wasn't happy and made excuses...he just can't stand that I'm finally better at a game than he is! :rotfl:

I'm envious. I have NEVER beaten Franklin at TSM. And sadly, I doubt I ever will. He plays video games, I surf the Dis...one definitely helps prepare for TSM, the other does not. :rotfl:

Sounds like you had a pretty good morning at DHS :)

Your drawing looks awesome!!! I would definitely frame it :)

I have been inside Writers Stop once, but haven't tried anything yet. That cookie looks so delicious!!!

I always beat my DH on TSM and now he just accepts it LOL

p.s. DH and I just bought new cars( I got a 2012 Kia sorento and he got a 2012 kia optima) so our trip to Disney will be postponed for a bit... Hopefully I can get him to take a trip around Easter time :: I'll have to wait till next christmas season to go visit and see all the fun christmas stuff at Disney.

We loved the new Star Tours, too! Much smoother and the video quality is awesome now!
We've always loved Writer's Stop, but I got the carrot cake cookie for the first time in August-- thought it was soooo good but of course finished less than half, too. It's so rich!
Your drawing is fantastic! Great job!

Isn't WL so amazing? I miss it soooo much! :sad1:

I'm glad we changed our plans that morning, I love DHS!

Thanks! I can't draw at all, but we had such a good instructor, she made it seem like it was so easy!

Ughhh, I can't find any Disney window clings yet! I found some gel ones at Walmart, so I bought package, but that's not enough...and I want to make a sign of some type! I need to find suction cups! I think I'm going to go on a mission later tonight to try to find them!

I will know a lot more about my plans after this Tuesday, so maybe once I finalize everything, we can set up a time to meet, it all depends on how my DH's orthopedic appt. goes! I know that sounds cryptic, but I'll let you guys know more on Tuesday! :rotfl:

Tower of Terror is totally my new favorite ride. It's so awesome! Besides the little hiccup with RNR, looks like a fun and successful morning at DHS.

Oh, and if TOT is my favorite ride, the drawing class is my favorite activity to do at Disney! I drew that Jiminy Cricket too once. I teach art to my grade 5s so I've been teaching them how to draw the characters I drew at Disney. So far we've done Pluto and Buzz Lightyear and they LOVE it! Some of them are amazing artists.

Isn't the Tower of Terror the BEST RIDE EVER??? OMG I love it so much! :lovestruc We had a great time at DHS that morning, I always expect to get a headache from RnRC! I don't know where to put my head no to get one, sometimes I'm fine on that ride and I don't get bounced around at all, other times my head smashes against the side soooo bad...it's annoying!

Wow you sound like a fun teacher, I wish we learned to draw Disney characters in school! I loved the animation class, I'm definitely going to do it again!

Thanks! I want to frame it! Unfortunately, when I brought it home, I folded it, so it might look horrible in a frame now, but I'll try!

Star Tours is a lot of fun! I'm pretty awful at TSM too, my score is not good compared to people that are good at it, I'm just happy I seem to always beat Brandon! :rotfl:

I'm usually ok on roller coasters, but there's something about RnRC that makes me get a headache! I always say I'm going to skip it, but it's so much fun, I can't skip it!

You have to try a carrot cake cookie, they are amazing! You probably won't be able to finish it though, they are really filling!

I hope to see the umbrella when it's on someday! I assumed it was because of the lights, but who knows? Brandon looked really funny, jumping up and down on that square! It must be really funny to trick someone when it's on! :rotfl2:

Okay, I just updated in my TR what went on on MY morning that day and it was WAY different than admiring the sun and the trees like you did!! :rotfl:

Sounds like a great morning. I especially like the WL balcony and am hoping to have the exact same view when we stay there in February. LOVE that resort!!

I read your update yesterday, wow, MK was crazy that morning! I can't believe you did a 5K and then went to MK, you have so much energy! :yay: I don't need much sleep in WDW, but I do need a break in the afternoon, and I feel like if I ever did a 5K, the last thing I'd want to deal with would be crowds!

I miss the WL!! I miss Disney World! I hope you get a great view at WL, although I'm not really sure there are any bad ones, maybe the standard views aren't great, but other than that, pretty much anywhere is beautiful!

Wow, that view from WL is beautiful. I would've been out there every morning, probably forgetting to get ready for the parks in time.

I love going really slow in DHS and enjoying all the little details. Those palm trees with the sun behind them just scream, "Florida!" :thumbsup2

Isn't WL amazing? It's so pretty, I really loved hanging out on the balcony in the morning!

I love DHS so much, when I was younger, it was my favorite park. It's strange that a lot of people don't like it, I love the old Hollywood theme! :thumbsup2

I didn't know they drew Jiminy either, so I was happy when we got to draw him, I was expecting Pooh or something! I wonder if they ever do Marie, she would be fun! :thumbsup2

Haha, I do the same thing, I sit up straight and put my head back and brace myself, but it only seems to work about half the time! We went on it again later in the week and I was fine, my head didn't move at all! So who knows? :confused3

You drawing is great...I would definitely frame it! It far beats my drawing of Rapunzel...who looks like an alien. Maybe one day I'll scan it in here.

I don't think my kids have ever seen that umbrella in action...and I don't think I have either. Must add it as a must-do for our next trip! ;)

Thanks! Rapunzel! She must have been really hard to draw! I'm sure yours is really good! :thumbsup2

I hope the next time we go the umbrella is on, but I'm not really counting on it, in the middle of December!

Oh my what an amazing view to wake up to during your trip!

Lol I understand too well about the morning battles and go through them myself on a regular basis!! :rotfl:

Yay on DHS being pretty empty and getting TSMM FPs!

I know! I wish I could start every morning with that view from WL! My days might go a lot better if I did! :cutie:

DHS was so much fun that morning, I just love an empty park! :thumbsup2

LOL definitely try a carrot cake cookie! They have a few other things that looked interesting in there too, but that cookie is amazing!

Thanks! I am definitely considering framing that picture! :thumbsup2

We were at DHS that morning for emh too! It really was a great morning to go. We got so much accomplished all before 11am. We also ate at the writer's stop haha. While I didn't try the carrot cake cookie I did have a few danishes which were really good. I really like that place too.

I love DHS emh mornings, you can get so much done! Isn't the Writer's Stop great? I'd love to just get a cookie, bring a book and hang out on the couch in there for a few hours, but that would never happen, because I'd be thinking about how I could be riding ToT instead of reading a book! :rotfl:

It is funny you mention the sun and the palm trees and how happy you were ...I felt the exact same way during our last trip as I was sitting outside Star Tours waiting for family to get off of the the ride. It was at that moment that I slowed down and just took in the atmosphere and truly enjoyed the feeling of being there :lovestruc

Your picture of JC is really good!! You should frame it!!:thumbsup2

I love when you get those feelings at WDW! :goodvibes This trip I tried to really, really appreciate being there, after me being sick a few days before, and Brandon's injury, I was almost afraid we would have to cancel, so I was thrilled that we were actually there!

Thanks, I'm really happy with that picture! Although, if you put it next to the instructors, you would think it was terrible, hers was so cute! :)

P.S., I totally caved and upgraded us to Savannah View for our six nights at AKL. At least I'm renting points so it wasn't THAT much more per night. :rolleyes1

I think DHS is a really beautiful park, something that often gets overlooked when people whine about the lack of things to do compared with other parks.

I'm envious. I have NEVER beaten Franklin at TSM. And sadly, I doubt I ever will. He plays video games, I surf the Dis...one definitely helps prepare for TSM, the other does not. :rotfl:

Yay, congrats on upgrading!! :woohoo: You can't really stay at AKL and not get a savanna view! :thumbsup2

I love DHS, I think it's beautiful too, it's a shame people only go there for TSM and RnRC! :confused3

Haha, I can't believe I can beat Brandon at TSM! He's a video game freak too, but for some reason, he struggles with TSM! I know once he figures it out though, I'm done! He'll be scoring like 400,000 and I'll be lucky to get over 100,000!

Thanks, I'm so happy my drawing wasn't terrible, I was so nervous before that class, I almost considered not doing it! :scared1:

You have to go to Writer's Stop and actually eat something! It's sooo good!

LOL, Brandon hates that I beat him at TSM, he always makes excuses and says his gun thing doesn't work...yeah right! :sad2:

Yay for your new cars! That's too bad your Disney trip has to be postponed, but at least you will be going in a few months! :yay:

We loved the new Star Tours, too! Much smoother and the video quality is awesome now!
We've always loved Writer's Stop, but I got the carrot cake cookie for the first time in August-- thought it was soooo good but of course finished less than half, too. It's so rich!
Your drawing is fantastic! Great job!

Star Tours was a lot of fun!

That carrot cake cookie is awesome, but it is so rich! I'm amazed that one person would be able to finish it alone! :rotfl2:

Thanks! :cool1:

I always take those morning pics at WL like you do!!! I love taking them at AKL as well!!

3 WEEKS TILL YOUR TRIP!! :)

Great update, Jen. You had a productive morning at the Studios...and got a couple of new things done -- Writer's Shop, the umbrella. :thumbsup2 Writer's Shop is one of our favorites. I go to the line where the characters seem to not have anyone too (unless it is Stitch). I too love Tower of Terror.

And I'm with you...sun and palm trees makes everything right!

3 WEEKS TILL YOUR TRIP!! :)

I can only imagine how beautiful AKL is in the morning! :lovestruc

I can't believe my trip is so close, it doesn't seem real! I'm not really letting myself get excited about it til I'm on the plane! I'm so nervous about it snowing or something!

Thanks! I love Writer's Stop now, it's so cute in there! Haha, I had my picture taken with Stitch a few years ago when my niece was obsessed with him, but now I don't bother!

I can't wait to see palm trees again! I really wish I could bring one home with me!

Just caught up on the last update. Sure was a morning of firsts! The carrot cake cookie, the umbrella, the drawing class, the new Star Tours...plus all the old favorites, of course! For RnRC, I usually feel like my head is rattled around a lot too, but we ended up in the very front seat one of our rides last trip and we both felt like it was way smoother and more enjoyable up there. Great Jiminy Cricket drawing too!
