Hi everyone!!! I am going to attempt to write a trip report here. I've tried in the past, got really busy, and then just never finished. But I will do better with this one! Scout's Honor!!! (I'm a Cub Scout & Girl Scout leader & DH is a Boy Scout leader so gotta stick to this one now, lol!)

A little background on this trip, ya know the who, what, where, & why....

Who: Me, Jenna, 38 y.o. mother of 3, wife to 1, sister to 0, etc.
The Other Who: DH, Nate, 37 y.o. father to the same 3, husband to 1 (that I know of :rotfl2:), and my all-around favorite person in the world.

What: Our 15th Anniversary trip

Where:  Where else?!

Why: Because if I don't get a vacation alone with my husband, you may soon find me in a corner curled up in a fetal position sucking my thumb.;) Not really, but you get the idea.

A little more background: Nate & I were married at the gorgeous Wedding Pavilion at WDW back in May 1996. He had only been to Disney once (oh the horror!) before that when he was 12. I had countless Disney trips under my belt since my parents would frequently take me there on vacation. So you could guess who the driving factor was in a Disney Wedding!;) But not to worry, I've since converted Nate to a Disney-lover. :thumbsup2 On one of our trips together, we rented points at OKW from a DVC member and stayed at a 1 br. villa. We were blown away by the size of it! Seriously, it was bigger than out first apartment. We knew DVC was in our future & have been members since March '07. :wizard:

And some more background: This trip was supposed to happen in June to celebrate our 15th anniversary. But didn't. And I  for days. There was no living with me. We had the trip booked for 4 nights at the VWL right after the kids got out of school. They were going to be staying with their Grandparents on the other side of the state (PA). Nate's mom worked in a school as an IS aide so she had summers off too and would be able to watch them. They were going to Grandma's, I was going to Disney...it was a win/win all around.:woohoo:

But then dum, dum, dum (my [pathetic] attempt at cueing the music for the bad part of the story), Nate realized he just couldn't finish up his jobs, that had deadlines while we would be away, before we left. He is self-employed so there was no one to fall back on. So the day before we were supposed to leave, we had to call DVC and tell them the bad news. Actually, Nate made that call. I couldn't talk through the tears. Yeah, I was that bad.:sad2:

So being that we cancelled so close (understatement) to our arrival date, our points went into holding. We would need to use these points before the end of our use year, in our case November 30th, and we would have to book within 60 days of our travel date. So time to figure out when this trip could happen. If it could happen at all.....

Next up: Revelations.....

I love it! :thumbsup2

I want the details and pics and food porn if any. And as far as being a bad parent, you're in good company.

Ha ha ha!! I learned everything I know about bad parenting from you!;)

And I will be sharing whatever pics I can. Nate is always the one with the camera so the shots I take are few & far between. I don't think there's any food porn. :guilty:

I'm looking forward to hearing about this for several reasons. We are taking my two to Disney in a few weeks, but we are not (gasp) taking them to the MVMCP with us the night we go. They will be staying with their grandparents who are also traveling with us that night. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures at the parties as an adult with kids but without them along.

You've hooked me. :upsidedow Between the heartbreaking cancellation of your first trip, the pixie dust you must accordingly be due and the idea of being there from Halloween through Christmas, I can't wait to hear more! popcorn::

Welcome to you both!! :welcome: It's great to have you reading along!

Adoerr72- You must be so excited for your trip!:yay: You will love MVMCP! We did it way back in 2006 but had a fabulous time. This is a great time to visit with the Holidays in full swing at WDW!

2xcited2sleep- Thanks! In hindsight, if I realized how much better this would've turned out, I would've never been that upset.

To take you back to the beginning, I thought I'd post some pictures from my Fairytale Wedding.:bride: I don't have them stored on this computer, but I had them in an album on Facebook so I'd thought I'd share the album.
You can view them here:

We had a sunset wedding so we had our pics taken at the Wilderness Lodge (where we were staying) prior to our ceremony. Still hoping that we are avoiding the "bad luck to see each other before the wedding" theory! LOL!

Thanks!!

I just read the Disneyland one!! So excited for you! I miss DL. :sad1: Especially with you guys.

::yes:: Me too. I cannot wait until next October. :grouphug: I cannot imagine going to WDW and not having you guys there. Even if it's for a few days, ya know? Special water..........:lmao:

Deja vu all over again? We had to cancel our Oct, 2011 trip to HHI the week before we were to leave and our points went into holding as well. We had plans to meet other DISboarders, already purchased a restaurant.com $100 certificate at Alligator Grille and had ressies at Robert Irvine's (Food channel celeb) eat! restaurant. Our points have to be used by July 31, 2012. We are hoping to add on to an existing May, 2012 to VWL but we will have to wait for the 60 day window and hope something is available. Looking forward to hearing about your trip. DW and I had a blast last Dec, 2010 when we went to WDW by ourselves. Hope your trip was as enjoyable.
