Here is my delimina and any thoughts would be great.

First off POINTS AREN'T A CONCERN and I know it all depends on availablity. We will have a car.

We will have 4 adults and 3 kids. We are looking at either THV(SSR owners) or 2BR theme park view BLT Dec 2-8, 2012.

THV give us an extra BR but BLT give us and extra Bathroom.

Ay pros or cons or ones you'd choose? Also, any thoughts on BLT 2BR booking at 7 months beginning of Dec.

Thanks for the help.

That's a hard one but I do think the decision is made for you if you don't own at BLT. Last year for that week I was unable to get a 2BR standard right at 11 months when MS opened. I was able to get an MK view on that day and everyone loved it but those were gone long before 7 months.

If there is an option then I'd just go with if I felt like more of a contemporary stay close to MK or for a relaxed room in the woods.

Another advantage to BLT that time of year is the monorail loop to see the Christmas decorations at the other resorts if you're into that sort of thing. Also VWL is close by and many rave about their decorations also.

okay agree with BLT - my change is to the view - would go for a lake view - one there is definitely more of them so you might get your request - plus ask for even number rooms on north side - high as possible. now not a straight mk view - still a mk view.

Does anyone know how many 2br theme park views there are? Is the chance poor that of getting a theme park 2br at 7 months?

I would also choose BLT for closeness of the action, monorail loop for resort hopping to see Christmas decorations, and the extra bathroom in the morning I think is key with so many adults. :)

You asked about the view, I'll tell you I put in two waitlists last year for BLT for Christmas week, one for MK view and the other for lake view. The lake view came through for us. So my advise would be to put a waitlist in for each of the views and see which comes through.

IMO for a Christmas vacation I wouldn't choose either one because neither decorates for Christmas. At BLT you will see the castle change color off in the distance and at SSR you will see undecorated trees because you are surrounded by a wetland.

BWV, BCV, VWL, and AKV all have much better decorations.

I didn't vote, how old are the kids? If they are teenage girls go for the extra bathroom, if not :confused3 depends on if you want to "camp in the woods" or "stay downtown in the thick of things". I've stayed at both and love them both for what they each are.

I should have mentioned we did stay at thv for 10days and love them. There wi be 2boys(11&15) and girl(16).

Since those ages aren't as likely to be interested in the MK, then I'd go for THV and more individual beds.

The beds in THV are Queen and BLT has a King in the master.

Nothing beats the outdoor decking of a THV for family gatherings and no bugs in December.

Since I haven't stayed at BLT yet, my vote is the THV! Although I do wish the bed in the master was a king. Oh well, a small price to pay. The Treehouses are AWESOME. :goodvibes

We absolutely LOVE BLT. Think it's our favorite resort (which, amazing that my wife would say that - she loves the remote earthy feel and look of AKV). BLT is so convenient for everything and we loved the TOTWL.

I get the individual rooms and beds thing at THV, but I still think I'd go for BLT and the extra bathroom.

Book THV at 11 months (since your home resort is SSR). Then, at 7 months try for a dedicated 2 BR at BLT. Waitlist if you can't get it. The dedicated 2 BR will mean a bed for most (assuming 2 of the kids can deal with sharing I guess). Leaving only one person to need a pull out in the living room.

You cannot beat the space and size of the BLT 2BR living room (except at OKW). The layout and huge windows are fabulous.

However, if beds are a concern, I'd stick with THV since you'd have space for all but 1 for sure. However, in either setup, someone is in the living room pull out.

Good luck! We're planning to go the same time of year in 2012. If you stay at BLT maybe we'll run into you!

Question about beds at blt. Poster above stated that 2 children need to share but I thought 2 queens in one room and a king and sofa bed and sleeper chair. The adults will be sleeping together and then kids will have own beds. If I'm wrong about beds thet might decide things.

You are correct on what sleeping arrangements are available but what people were referring to is the fact that THV has a 3rd bedroom whereas at BLT if each child has their own sleeping "place" then there will be two open sleepers in the living area. It's just not the ideal arrangement in many people's mind b/c it limits the useage of the living area to times when the kids are not sleeping.

BLT has 3BR units as well, since points are not an issue. :wizard:

I vote for BLT. Where else should you be but near the castle for Christmas!

I would make a reservation at SSR at 11 months and then try to change at 7 months to BLT. I would also go for a LV over the MK view as Spiceycat said.
