"There’s NO Sleeping in Disney!” SURPRISE - The Frumps Are Back Again! UPDATE 1/13

You guys are amazing, you even had a great time waiting to see Fantasmic! :wizard: I haven't seen it since 2009 and seeing your pictures reminded me how much I want to see it on my honeymoon next year!!

I love the video, as usual. The collision and collision replay were hilarious :rotfl: I mean it wasn't funny that they banged heads but still, you know what I mean! haha

Somehow I've never taken pics in front of any of the "Let the Memories Begin!" signs except the one at the MK entrance...what is wrong with me?! The one of you and Kristen in front of that sign at DHS is really cute!

The back usually gets accelerated faster (like when you go over a hill, the first bit is getting accelerated only by gravity and the effect snowballs as you move further back because you have forces adding when each car pulls on the cars behind it. The last car feels the force of gravity and the forces of all the cars in front pulling it so if you do Force = mass*acceleration, and the mass of a car is roughly the same but there's more force compared to the front, the back car's acceleration must be faster. Science!) so you feel the hills/turns much more compared to the front. Finally those excruciating years of physics come in handy! ;)

Yeah, I think Pocahontas was always more likely to fade into obscurity, even moreso than something like The Black Cauldron (even though BC was a bad adaptation of a terrific series, calling Pocahontas an 'adaptation' is being extremely generous) because when you can't even get your main character's name right, you kind of have a problem, you know? The Black Cauldron got that much right at least!

Or maybe I'm just biased because I always liked Pocahontas/Kocoum better than Pocahontas/John Smith and it turns out I was right all along (unlike the disastrous Jo/Professor Bhaer incident of Little Women. Jo/Teddy is clearly superior!).

Haha well whatever the case, the back is the best. End of story. :thumbsup2
To each his own. I didn't even know about the existence of the Black Cauldron until I was a sophomore in high school, and I knew about Pocahontas from when the time I was three. It really doesn't matter though. They're all Disney movies, so it's all good.

After having creeped on all of your trip reports so far, I've figured that I should probably post by now. You definitely have the most amazing trips and are having such a Disney year! I am so jealous and wish that there were people like you and your friends at my high school last year.

Anyway, Fantasmic! I hadn't seen this show since 2000 until this August, so I know how you were feeling and enjoyed it a lot as well. You got some awesome seats and pictures! I love HS at night as well; I feel like it is one of the best lit parks at night. Looking forward to more trip fun in your future posts!

Thanks for posting! It's nice to hear from another reader! Thank you so much! I'm glad you're enjoying reading along. I am so thankful I found friends who understand Disney... I have no idea how that worked out so well!
Ah I'm glad you understand. Wasn't it great!? 2000 is even farther away though! Wow, you must have felt like you were seeing it for the first time! Thank you very much - that was great being right in front. Hollywood is beautiful at night, I agree! Thank you! I'm glad your'e here! :goodvibes

Haha oh thank you! You definitely should see it - it's great!
Thank you very much! HAHAHA I understand... it is very funny. I forgot that even happened until I edited the video. I'm glad I tape frumpy things like that.
I always forget to take pictures with them too! But then I end up doing it quickly right before I leave. They are really cute signs though - I love them!

I'm with Kristen - the Muppets are awesome. The cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody" that they released a few years ago is like the greatest thing ever.

Whenever I'm at MGM at night, I absolutely have to have a frozen lemonade. They're delicious. I don't know why I prefer them at night though...

I haven't seen Fantasmic since 2008, I think. Waiting for it is such a pain. Though, if they play 90s music in the queue, I may have to rethink that.

You guys had awesome seats. Is that Meg from Hercules on Steamboat Willie? I adore her! Hercules is one of my favorite Disney movies. I will never understand why it's not featured more in the parks.

I'm sorry that the bus driver was such a crab. :sad2:

After waiting in line almost 2 hours for Fantasmic 2 years ago, we had said "Never again!!". We did not think the show was worth such a long wait. But this summer we were able to watch the second showing by waiting less than 20 minutes, just like you. It's so much better that way!!

You mentioned working for Disney earlier in your TR. I can see you at least working at a Disney Store around where you live. You would be awesome!:thumbsup2

Oh my gosh.... I NEED to hear that. Youtube here I come.
....HAHAHAHA that was awesome. Oh Muppets, you NEVER disappoint me.
Frozen Lemonades just top off they day! I can see why they're one of your necessities.
It is such a pain. But the second showing is definitely not as bad! So that's what I would recommend doing if you want to go and listen to awesome 90's music. :thumbsup2
Speaking of 90's.... I don't know if you have a twitter... but there is this girl I follow and her name is 90sgirlproblem . You would REALLY appreciate her tweets. They are probably some of the most brilliant pieces of wisdom I have ever heard.
Thanks! Why, yes it is!! I finally watched the entire Hercules movie this past summer and I really loved it! It's such a good movie... I wonder why it isn't featured more, too!
And it's okay. I forgive him. :p

I love those kinds of stories. Sometimes it's the little things that make a big impact.

Tonsillitis in Disney World? Yuck. At least you didn't let it get you down. Good for you. Of course, no one could be unhappy when you have Pluto cartoons, especially this one (my favorite). Cartoons tend to make medical recovery not-so-terrible. If I were a doctor, I'd include them on the prescription for recovery meds. (Ok, I want you to take Tylenol as needed...eat only soft foods...get lots of fluids and Looney Tunes.)

Very well, then, my work here has been successful. I'm happy to be of service. (Tell your friend to get the movie on Pooh-Ray - super high-hef(falump)inition!)

Yes, I felt the music selection was appropriate for this happy occasion, even if Pooh Bear is British. I couldn't think of the British equivalent of Sousa off the top of my head, but it's no big deal. He's definitely a friend to the great USA - land of the good ol' red, white, and POOH! Besides, Sam Eagle would be very pleased. On the same note, I LOVE MUPPET VISION, and Sam is one of the best parts.

Exactly! :thumbsup2 So precious.
Yeah :( Oh well. At least it happened when I was younger. I just remember being so excited for that trip... and then BAM. I end up on the couch for more than half of it.
I remember that episode! It's so cute. Oh my gosh I really want to go dig out my DVD and just watch all of the pluto cartoons. See... most people my age get thoroughly entertained by MTV... I am thoroughly entertained by Disney cartoons. That's the way to be. :thumbsup2
And yes, I agree! Cartoons are the best thing to cure a sickness. I think I will be watching them whenever I'm sick probably for the rest of my life. They're just so lighthearted and happy. That's exactly what you need when your'e sick!
LOL very clever
The music was extremely appropriate... whatever nationality! And LOL yesss that is one of the best parts of Muppet Vision! Anything with Sam Eagle in Muppet Vision is HILARIOUS. "Not moving to the end of your row is SIMPLY unpatriotic."

It really isn't worth a ridiculous wait like that. I'm glad you lucked out this past summer! That amount of time is just so much more manageable!

You mentioned working for Disney earlier in your TR. I can see you at least working at a Disney Store around where you live. You would be awesome!:thumbsup2

Aww that would be an AWESOME job! It breaks my heart.. but they closed ALL THREE Disney stores that used to be by me :sad1: Ugh that would have seriously been perfect. I still don't get why the closed the Disney stores... such a mistake.

I was just telling a friend of mine that her High school aged children would have fun at Disney too, I even told about a few young adult girls :rolleyes1who do awesome reports on thier trips who have the best times at Disney!

We loved Fantasmic as well, it's my second fav show beside Wishes:lovestruc

You couldn'tve put the MuppetVision pictures up two days ago when I was searching everywhere for some for my Spanish Project!? ahaha I found some :P

I LOVE Pocahontas!! She's my favorite :) I'm mad they don't have a lot of Pocahontas stuff in Disney!

I'm sorry!! Next time you need disney pictures, just ask me. I have tons of EVERYTHING ;)
I know it's sad that they just forget about some movies! Oh well. At least she's in Fantasmic!
Why yes he did :lovestruc He must've just known hahaha
Where did you find disney gifs!?

Kristen is part muppet!!??!! That is amazing. I love the things that I learn here on the dis.

I don't know! I don't think I have ever seen a Hercules character before! I know he used to be out way back in the day... but I don't think anymore :(

I think it is because some characters should NEVER become meet and greets. They end up looking distorted or terrifying!
Great examples are Clopin ( he mask is twice the size of his head) and Hades in the Once upon a dream parade ( He looks horrifying!)

Hahaha oh I bet! I suppose Hercules could look slightly distorted as well :rotfl:

I can't believe I haven't commented on this yet....MY LIFE IS EXPLODING.

AHH MUPPET VISION. Home sweet home.

I am DEFINITELY part Muppet. Or all Muppet.

During which time I think we did One Man's Dream and Mulch, Sweat and Shears but I'm not positive.

YAYY for the back! It's awesome isn't it?

Mmmm those frozen lemonades are so good! Today at school one of the nurses said that she hated water. I laughed and thought how you wouldn't be able to even grasp that. Hehe I <3 water.

I LOVE THOSE COOKIES. K bye.

That hidden Mickey flower was so cute! I want one!!

Those seats were awesome! What a fun show!

ARIEL AND ERIC. I want to be her.

That's 'cause the 90's are the BEST.

I agree. Pocohontas does not get enough recognition.

That pic of you and me with the LTMB sign is actually one of my faves of the trip. :goodvibes

HAHAHA Rodriguez. Sorry guys. :P

That mean old bus man just doesn't realize how photogenic his bus is!

Yayy sleepoverrr!

MMMM chocolate. -runs for Nutella-

I know, right? I'm still so annoyed by that. Now the closest ones are in Canada and Syracuse...which is still hours away. I'd like to visit the one in Times Square sometime though!

Oh, I thought that you might like to know I applied for the College Program. My interview was on Sunday and now I'm playing the waiting game.

I met the same Mulan! She looked a little different the second time I met her but I liked her the second time way better! It was like...she was a whole different person! ;)

You guys obviously had an awesome time! I think by living near WDW I miss out on the whole excitement that you guys had. Hopefully I'll have that when I go to Disneyland next year. In the meantime, I can't wait for my family vacation in December! Nothing like going with family!

Keep up the great updates!

I loved Muppets! :thumbsup2

Great pics of Fantasmic! We never got to see the show so it's nice to hear your thoughts on it.

So hello! This is a monumental moment for me because... this is my first time ever posting on the Disboards. I only discovered them like a couple months ago, and have only been lurking since. And when I say lurking... it's like major lurking. I have read SO many trip reports already, including all of yours (and Kristen's... and Allie's...)! To be honest I don't even remember how I came across yall's TRs but I'm glad I did, they're so much fun! So I'm finally up to date on this one, and thought I would post some thoughts! So hopefully I don't blab too much, and bore you to death. :lmao:

1. First of all, I feel like I would be besties with you and your friends if we were the same age, SLASH lived in the same state. HA! Basically Disney= life. It's the way to be. DUH.

2. I'm SO glad you changed your mind about Tiana! I love her! She and Rapunzel are now in my top favorite princesses and their movies are amazing. It's nice that Disney can keep making classics for the new generations! Don't worry though, I'm sure there were people who didn't like Ariel or Belle at first because they thought they were invading on Snow White, Aurora, and Cinderella's territory. (What a weird thought!)

3. Okay so I don't have as many thoughts as I thought I would ha! So I'll just say... this TR so far is awesome! The surprise was so fun to read about (and watch! I love the videos!) So I guess now I'll just have to become a frequent poster and keep up. Sorry my comment was so long!

P.S. Your TRs make me excited to attempt to write my own after my December trip! YAY.

It's okay! Welcome to the party.
Ahh very nice. Thanks for filling in the gaps!
HATING WATER!?! How is that even possible? I don't comprehend that statement.
I love all food.
I love Fantasmic :)
Yeah that's definitely one of my favorite pictures of the trip too! It was such an impulsive picture but it was great!
NUTELLA! I already went through my first jar that my mom sent me :rotfl: I better get some more.

Ahhh I'm like in Syracuse right now and there's a Disney Store 12 minutes from here. But I don't think I'm gonna make it there :( Wahh.
I'd rather just go to the one in NYC too! It looks AWESOME. I'm gonna go crazy the next time I'm there.
AHHH did you really!?!? I seriously just want to do the CP now. You'll have to keep me updated!

I met the same Mulan! She looked a little different the second time I met her but I liked her the second time way better! It was like...she was a whole different person! ;)

Ahh did you really!? That's so cool :) She was precious.
We had a great time! Yeah, I TOTALLY understand how that would happen. Since I go so often I sometimes feel like that too. But this specific trip.. I was flipping out! I bet you'll be very excited for Disneyland! And aww yay! How exciting for your family trip! That's how I feel too. I can't wait for my Family December trip. It's going to be great. 53 days!!

I loved Muppets! :thumbsup2

Great pics of Fantasmic! We never got to see the show so it's nice to hear your thoughts on it.

Aren't they great!? :thumbsup2
Thank you! Aww I guess you'll have to go back and see it sometime!

Jess: I saw this and I immediately thought of you. :)

Disney Ice Cream Gallery

That was BEAUTIFUL.
