Christmas Dinner Options

Hey All was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for Christmas Night dinner , I imagine that we will be in the park till they close it , but would like to have a special dinner after that , will the resturants in DTD be open pass the park hours , and should I make reservations far in advance ? were is everyone else that going to be there eating ?

Below is a link to a thread that I started a while back to collect info on dining on Christmas Day. Last year the parks closed at midnight but I can't help with what was open in DTD after this. Hopefully someone else can help you with this.

The park will close at midnight. Not much is open after for seating after the park closes.

We generally do our Christmas Dinner at Goofy's or Storytellers in the late afternoon. Makes a nice wind down.

Oh I was thinking that the park would close early on Christmas Eve and Christmas day . that changes everything , have eaten at the Rainforest before and Love tortolos Joes ( spellings not my strong suit) were else is recommended for a good meal with asmosphire ?

I think the park closes earlier on Christmas Eve (maybe 6 PM or 8 PM, Malcon10t will know) but stays open late on Christmas Day as the PPs mentioned.

Have you tried Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen?

We also enjoy Storyteller's Cafe. We have had Thanksgiving dinner there a few times now. We like to choose the buffet and get a taste of all the holiday flavors.

Onslot, the parks will lose around 9pm on Christmas Eve. In the Christmas Superthread in the table of contents you will find the December hours for last year which will give you a guide as o what to expect.

Hoping someone can help me as well.

Which hotel offers the most traditional Christmas dinner then?? We are a large group, 19 ppl, and I would need to make the reservations by oct 25 to make sure we can be sure to have tables.

Any help would be great

I would think Storytellers. I think that is where we are going to do dinner this year. Just a warning, they will inform you they cannot guarantee you will be at one table. You will need to be willing to be at several tables. We have done 24 people, and did 4 - 6 person tables next to each other.

Thank you for the info, with that many people I wouldn't think it would be all one table, we expect to be split up.

You have no idea the number of people who get upset because they can't all be at one table.

Really? I figure unless you are booking a private dinning room, anything above 5 ppl is subject to split tables

So my hubby is wanting to have a prime rib dinner for Christmas dinner. What would be the best place for us to reserve for the preferred dinning on Christmas? If we eat a breakfast/brunch at the hotel and then maybe a snack around lunch time if not a little later, do you think we would be good just scheduling the big dinner meal? I for one can't eat, my kids would eat 24/7 if we let them so they will be fine as long as they have a snack, and dh and my dad usually only eat one large meal a day.....so I am thinking that the one major meal Christmas day will be good enough, but looking for suggestions.

Also, if we go into a restaurant that is NOT a buffet and since I can't eat will I be charged to just sit in the restaurant with my family? Also, if we do go to a buffet would I still have to pay full price even though I can't eat anything? Looking forward to this trip, but the stress is now starting to pile up with all the final plans.

If you go to one of the Disneyland buffets (Goofy's, Ariel's, or Minnies) since it is a character meal, you would still be billed.

They took it away from Storyteller's, didn't they? It's New York strip now I think. Still, it was pretty good beef for a buffet last time I had it. Storyteller's has many other tasty choices as well. Another good thing about Storyteller's is that you can choose to order off the menu or order the buffet. With that kind of situation, I would think scrappinbear78 would be ok there not ordering or paying anything for herself while her family enjoyed the meal. No characters though.

Yep, but if her husband has his heart set on prime rib, it might not be right for him.

Yeah, I know how that goes. Just throwing the suggestion out there though in case prime rib isn't attainable.

I'd check Steakhouse 55 for prime rib.
