Tusker House ADR advice?

DH and I are heading to WDW from 12/25-12/31. We have an ADR at Tusker House on 12/26 at 8:05am. Seems they changed the park opening time from 9:00 to 8:00. We were so excited to get the early ADR for what was originally before the park opened.

Should we keep the 8:05 and risk not getting FP for EE and Safari, or change to a 9:35 ADR? Usually we do make our breakfast ADRs for later so we can get a few rides in first. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Personally, I'd go ahead and change it.

Walk up through Asia on your way in and grab FP for EE, then circle over to the Safari and ride it if you have time. By the time breakfast is over, your EE FP should be up and you can grab another.

I did an 8:30ish ADR in 2010 and a 10am ADR in 2011. I much preferred the 10am to the 8:30ish (the park did open at 9 on that day, but it's close enough to judge).

If you got there immediately at RD and grabbed the FPs, it wouldn't be much of a big deal if you made it to your ADR about 5-10 mins late if you keep the time. We were 5-10 mins late for our ADR at Rose & Crown but when we got there it was so busy, we had to wait 15 mins just to check into the restaurant so it was no problem that we were late. I know TH is busy at that time so you might find the same. We had an 8:05 ADR and got there on time and found a little line.

BUT it would be more relaxing if you didn't have to run around the park first thing in the morning too...

You'll still be able to get into the park pre-opening with an 8:05 ADR. And since Tusker is clsoe to the Safari, you can get a FP for it before you eat. Then you'll be able to go right on once you're done eating.

I can see the merits of taking a later ADR. Did you already make the later ADR and are holding both? Because I'm sure there's little or no availability. If you're just considering it at this point, you'll be lucky to find any later ADR at Tusker House.

We are in the same boat, did the same thing at 180 days for Nov. 26th. Seemed great, 8am bfast and then finish about the time the park opens. Now the park opens at 8am and there are no reservations that day. I will keep checking, but will not cancel obviously without a later time.

I made the ADR change. Evidently Animal Kingdom is not the "popular park" for 12/26, so we had no problems getting a 10:15AM breakfast. So, we'll make it to the park before rope drop and start hitting the rides with the masses and then head for breakfast/brunch. Thanks so much for everyone's input. We are really getting excited for our trip. Amazingly our return flight just dropped in price today by $94 total, we are floored. Things are all falling into place for this trip.

Enjoy!

Whew, glad you guys are saying do the rope drop, head to EE, get FP then head to safari then eat... my ADR is for 11 am so that sounds wonderful to me!
