2013 dates

I'm thinking out loud from my earlier comment about Galveston...why would they delay announcing sailings from Galveston in early 2013? I can't imagine where else they would send the Magic, especially since it is already listed in port schedules. Just trying to cheer myself up about the dates-I'm really hoping to book our 2013 Mardi Gras cruise soon!!!

Wow, the speculation is running rampant. My head is spinning from all the contradictory speculation going on.

Our dummy cruise date was booked in June on the Magic so I'm anxious to move it something that I actually care about but reading this thread is probably more stressful than doing the actual booking when the itinerary finally does come out. :rotfl2:

Must take deeeeeep breath now and chant my calming mantra, "Mediterranean ... Mediterraean ..."

:rotfl:

Relax guys ... it'll come soon enough .... they won't want to wait too long for us to throw our money at them. :thumbsup2

I am definitely booking a sailing for 2013 . It will be either March 2013 or December ....

Now, we are sailing this December on the Dream. Just wondering if I should book a dummy date when the dates are realeased and then do the real thing onboard ???? I read you get a discount for booking onboard ?

Many Thanks

I am not 100% sure, but I don't know if they will let you apply the 10% rebooking discount on a previously booked cruise.

Hmmm, have to rethink. It maybe cheaper to book when they first open then? Come end of December many cabin might be sold and the price 10% higher anyway ?

Thanks

From what I have read you have to reshop your cruise once onboard. You can then see if the discounted room works out cheaper and move your cruise across

Ok...thanks Sarah for sharing your knowledge !!!!

Basically, you have to compare the 20% deposit, no discount, no onboard credit dummy date to the 10% deposit, 10% discount and onboard credit based on length of sailing onboard booking.

For example if you book a 7 day cruise DCL will give you $200. In many cases, if you transfer your reservation to a TA they will offer and additional OBC. My TA offers a $100 OBC so I get $300 additional for booking onboard.

Thanks Jeff. I usually book with Disney and then transfer to a TA for additonal credit. That much I have downpack ! :rotfl: It is just timing to book and the fact I have never booked on ship. OF course this is only my second cruise with Disney.....

Thanks Again!!!

Do you guys think the 5/25/11 sailing will be and Eastern or Western?
How about the 12/28/11 sailing?

If you mean 5/25/2013 then I believe it's a Western. That's the one I'm planning on booking too :goodvibes

I went to a link somewhere in this thread that showed the Fantasy in one of the western ports for this week.

I would suggest asking the TA you use if they offer the onboard credit for transferred reservations. A lot of TA's no longer do or offer half of their normal OBC. This is due to Disney changing their commission amount for transferred reservations

I was looking at the Cayman port schedule too (http://www.caymanport.com/shipschedules.php) and I agree with you, since it shows the Magic in port every week from Jan-May 2013, and then again in the fall 2013. So to me that means the Magic is continuing to sail out of Galveston in 2013. I assume those dates will be announced next week too since they look pretty well set on the Cayman port.

As of right now, you still need to call in. Could DCL make web changes to allow web bookings? Possibly but I wouldn't count on it. The folks in their web department don't always seem to be the sharpest knives in the drawer. I could see them trying to set it up for Plat & Gold, screwing it up, and accidentally opening booking for everyone.

True! I checked with my TA and thank goodness they are offering the same credits whether booked directly or transferred and nothing changed after DCL changed their amounts either. Love my TA credits!!

When do DCL guests become gold casaway club members? After your 5th cruise or when you are just boarding your 5th cruise? When we board our 5th cruise next summer will we get gold lanyards?

I believe that your level is determined on the number of cruises completed. So you wouldn't be gold until after that cruise.

No, you will still get a silver lanyard. You will be gold on the 6th cruise.

Oh when? Oh when? Will they release the 2013 dates!

please release the magical dates :worship::worship:

you see us waiting and watching is it just a fantasy :surfweb:

we cant wait to make our dreams come true :cloud9:

and you know we are crazy with wonder :rotfl2::rotfl2:
