Hello All,

I just got back from a week at WBC and Disney World. I know a lot of people here are interested in WBC, so I decided to write a review.

Here goes :goodvibes

We had reservations for a 3-bdr deluxe

We arrived at WBC at 1:45 on a Friday afternoon. The check-in personnel were very personable. The lady who helped us said she could get us in a room right away in bldg 3. I asked her if that room was updated and she said no. I told her I was looking for something in bldg 4 or 5. She continued looking but couldn't find anything available for us to check in right away. She eventually found us a room in bldg 6, but it wasn't ready yet. She said it would be ready in under 2 hours.

Next, we went over to pick up our parking passes. Woody help us and he was relentless in getting us to an "owners update" meeting. I told him I was unemployed (which is 100% true) and we would be wasting their time. We got out of there without setting up a meeting, but that wouldn't be the end of Woody

Before we even got back to the car, the front desk called and told us our room was ready. We ended up on the 3rd floor in room 6312. I wanted a room with a view, but was happy to get in a room before 2:30.

We were pleasantly surprised and pleased with our room. This room is right off the elevator (we couldn't hear any elevator noise) and directly over the entrance to bldg 6. We had a HUGE balcony. It was probably 20 ft wide, by 35 feet long. It was great. This room was perfect for the five young kids we had with us. It was easy to find, easily accessible and only took 1 minute to get to the pool!! At the time, I didn't realize how great of a location this room was.

The rooms were nicely appointed. There was a king suite with a full jacuzzi tub and bathroom. There was a second king bed in one of the rooms and two double beds in the other room. There was also a queen pull out couch. Every room had a flat screen tv with many channels. The kitchen and bathrooms had granite counter tops. The room was very clean and furniture showed no wear.

The kitchen:
While it was nice, it was lacking in the pans department. There was only one 12-inch pan and that was it. This is a 3-bdrm unit, with a max accommodation of 10. One 12 inch pan is not going to be able to feed 10 people breakfast. We are breakfast eaters and it was difficult to make bacon, potatoes and pancakes or eggs for breakfast. God bless my mom for spending the time making a lb of bacon and pancakes for us one morning
There were only 2 dish-washing solution tablets. There were 10 of us and we went through these in under 2 days. When I called to ask for more, they told me I would have to buy them. I asked if they supply the same amount of solution tabs for every size room from studio to 4 bed and they said "yes, we supply two to every room" Doesn't sound right to me, but oh well. We bought more and moved on.

Bedrooms:
The beds were comfy, the sheets were great, the fans worked well and the tvs were good. No complaints in this department.

Bathrooms:
They worked :) Unfortunately, we had NO washcloths. I called down to get some and they said they were short on them but would try to find some. About an hour later a guy comes up with 4 washcloths and said sorry he didn't have more but they were running out. We never received any more washcloths. We had plenty of towels, but it was a process to get more. We tried once and never received them. We decided it was easier just to wash the ones we already had. We only had one extra roll of toilet paper in every bathroom, so we ran out. When we did they brought more, but it took 2 hours.

Parking:
We couldn't find a spot in the parking lot after 10pm. We usually parked in the garage between the hotel and bldg 6. Once, there was a guy at the gate (which was always open)who said if we weren't staying at the hotel, we couldn't park there. We just giggled and asked him where he expected us to park. He had no answer so we parked in the garage.

Pools:
The pirate pool right outside of bldg 6 is salt water. No big deal to me, but for some reason my 8 year old nephew didn't like it. He said it tasted bad. We told him he wasn't supposed to drink it :rotfl2: He complained a few times but still swam in it. The pool at bldg 6 was warmer than the one at bldg 5 (lazy river) The lazy river and pool at bldg 4 were waaaaay busier than bldg 6. There were more families at the pool in bldg 6 and more partiers at the lazy river and bldg 4 pool. I am guessing that this is because the bar is between bldg 4 and 5. We walked by the other pools, but didn't them. Oh... also, the pirate slide at the pool closed at 6 and kids had to be 48 inches to ride it. The height requirement is absurd in my mind. pirate:

Grills:
Gas and worked great!! We had steaks one night and burgers another.

Woody and the timeshare sharks:
These guys were relentless ;) Woody called again the first day to set up an appointment and offered us $75 bucks. We sternly declined and said no. Then, a note was left under the door, offering $100 bucks. Then another phone call (we had 3 messages) Then another note under the door offering $150. My sisters were having fun with it. They wanted to see how much they would offer. I told my sister that she could go in my place and take the money but there was 0% chance they would get me to sit through a meeting. They took a few days off from calling then called on the last day at 8:30am to invite us a meeting at 9:30am. We declined and they said "but we have your $75 dollars." We just had a good laugh.

We never used the busses, so I can't comment on the transportation. Overall, we had a great time. We had a few issues with the resort, but were happy with our time spent there. I would go back a second time.

Hopefully this review is helpful. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!!

Pictures!!! I am thinking of staying there for the first time in January. Did you take any pics?

Also, what is the deal with the timeshare pitch thing? I have never delt with anything like this. Can you just refuse like you did? I didn't realise if we stayed there we'd have to do that.

You absolutely DO NOT have to sit through a timeshare pitch. Most people here seem to tell them they don't make any money or are unemployed and they never hear from them again. We were not so lucky. We could have just unplugged our phone and been done with it, but my sisters were enjoying seeing just how much money they would offer.

I will check to see if I have any pictures of the resort. Most of the picture taking was done at Disney :goodvibes

Thanks for the review. Our family is staying here the end of January in a 2 bedroom and we are so excited. Good to know about the dishwasher soap and the pirate pool.

Thanks too for the good laugh with your sisters and the timeshare guys. :rotfl2:That is a way to make the pitches a little more managable. LOL

Glad you guys had a good time.

There's a WBC Photo thread here somewhere that has hundreds of pictures.

NO! You do not have to attend a timeshare sales pitch if you stay at WBC. And you shouldn't.

Wyndham has sort of a Jekyll & Hyde personality.

The resort system is among the best, most of the resorts are very nice, and their true customer service staff folks are excellent.

Their timeshare sales staff is one of the worst in the industry. I can't say they're absolutely the worst, but they're definitely in the level you want to stay away from. They will say anything, and do anything -- including lie blatantly -- to sell a timeshare. So prudent consumers simply stay away from them.

At some resorts, including WBC, you have to get your parking pass from the sales desk. Anything they offer you is a sales pitch. First they'll offer a "tour," or an "owner's update" for current Wyndham owners. If you decline, they'll ask you to "take a survey" on your Wyndham experience. Forget the names -- they're all sales pitches. They also sometimes come to the guests room, usually to offer an "owner's update." Once they get in, they won't leave.

Avoid the Wyndham sales weasels at all cost...and enjoy the beautiful resort!

We just say no at the sales desk (usually several times...) and then we disconnect the phone as soon as we get in the room. Anyone we want to talk to has our cell numbers.

Awesome. So it's okay to flat out say no? I have no problems doing that lol.

Any idea where? I found a few pics but not too many

Sounds like a nice trip! we stayed in a 1 bedroom in February but would love to stay in the 3 bedroom someday. we enjoyed the resort immensely but the parking was TERRIBLE!!! Forget about finding a spot after 9 pm. We drove around numerous nights for 30 minutes looking for a spot and then usually parking REALLY FAR away. but the resort is beautiful

I'm a little surprised with your parking problem. We were in Bldg 4 and always found room in the lot or the ground floor of the parking garage during our stay.

Wow when we asked for more dish soap they gave us more than we needed at no charge. Interesting.

are their restaurants onsite? Like a place for a quick breakfast or a sit down? A nice supper? We could stop and pick up some breakfast and lunch foods, but I am on vacation too and I don't want to do dishes and clean bathrooms if I don't have to.;)

I just want to add that this is a timeshare, as you know. Most timeshares only give samples of the dishwashing soap, washing machine detergent, paper towels, toilet paper etc and the guests have to purchase more. That is just customary at timeshares. I find a lot of people are confused by that so I like to mention it.

How many do you think could stay in a 3 bedroom? We have 3 families and we were wondering if they would all be comfortable in a 3 bedroom. My husband and I in one bedroom. We have 3 boys, the 2 olders ones are married with each 2 kids. They would take the additional bedrooms and I have a 21 year old son that would have to sleep on the couch. Is that possible. Any idea how much that would cost for a week. Hope I am not being to nosey.

That is awesome that they had working gas grills. I've only stayed at one resort with a gas grill, and it was so terrible I wasted $50 worth of steaks trying to cook on it.

Wyndham says the max capacity is 10. There is one master bedroom with a king bed. A second bedroom with a king bed, and a third bedroom with two doubles. I think you are going to run into a problem with there only being one room with two beds... unless one of your sons wants to share a king with his spouse and two kids :)

We had 11 in our party, but we also had a campsite at Fort Wilderness. Me and my partner took the king suite, my parents took the other king room and my sister and her little boy took one of the beds in the other room. My other sister and her husband slept at the campsite and their three kids switched between the pull out couch and the other double bed in the third room.

I'm not sure about the cost, but I am sure others can chime in. We used points that we purchased resale for cheap.

I understand the timeshare concept, but I have stayed at many Wyndhams and have NEVER had to purchase extra dishwashing soap. Also, I do not think that it is right to give the same amount of "samples" to a 3brdm with a capacity of 10 (which costs a lot more) as they do to a studio with a capacity of 4.

Don't know where the idea came from that you have to purchase supplies at timeshares. We've had 4 of them for 15 years and never had to buy a thing:cool1:

Is bonett creek totally smoke free or do they have designed areas?

They have some designated areas. Also, you can smoke on your balcony. The pool decks are supposed to be smoke free... but that didn't really stop people from smoking their either :confused3
