BFFs & Birthday Surprises! A "Girls Only" TR *Completed 3/13*

After sharing the yummy Red Velvet cupcake, we decided it was time to head over to the Magic Kingdom. We took a bus from HS to the TTC, and then took the monorail to the park.

Once there, we made our way to Tomorrowland. Angie went to ride Space Mountain, while Kat and I went to Buzz Lightyear. The wait time for Buzz was posted as 5 minutes, but we were able to walk right on… in fact, we rode twice in a row. Kat's on a mission to get the top score (999,999) on Buzz… sadly, the best she did was 296, 500 (but not too shabby!)

By this time, Angie still wasn't finished with Space, so Kat and I took a ride on the PeopleMover.

Angie was waiting for us when we got off, and the three of us headed over to the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. This was only the 2nd time I've seen the Laugh Floor show, but it's always been a hoot! Angie was even shown on the big screen before the show started… with the caption, "Doesn't know where she is"

Afterwards, we walked over to Adventureland to ride the Jungle Cruise and POTC. We then headed to Liberty Square in hopes of riding the Haunted Mansion... I don't remember what the wait time was, but it was longer than what we wanted to stand in line for. By now it was just after 7:00, so we decided to go ahead and make our way to the Polynesian for our dinner at 'Ohana. We hopped on the resort monorail and were there in no time!

Our ADR was for 8:10, and I know we checked in early but I don't recall just how early we were. We did sit in the waiting area for a good bit.

We were seated at a table right by the window and I had a fantastic view of CInderella's Castle! Angie and Kat, notsomuch, as there were trees blocking most of their view.

Dinner was fabulous! I hadn't eaten here before but now that I have, 'Ohana is on my list of favorite WDW restaurants! You can read more about our dinner at 'Ohana on my Dining Review, but I will show a photo of my plate full of the deliciousness:

After dinner we made our way back to Pop. We took the monorail back to the MK, and then got on a bus for our resort.

It was either during the bus ride or when we got back to our room that we talked about the plans for the next day. Originally we were to go to AK for most of the day, then head to Epcot in the afternoon/evening. However, since RnR was down for most of the day and it's Angie's most favorite attraction, she really really really wanted to get in a few more rides. So our new plan was to head to HS first thing and get in as many rides on RnR as we could, and then head to AK. Where we would get in as many rides on Expedition Everest as we could! And then we'd head to Epcot for our dinner at Rose & Crown. Whew!

Up next: Three parks in just one day?! Could we really do it?!

When I first read your new update I thought "what? they went to 'Ohana again?" then I realized I had read about it in your dining review!:rotfl:
Can't wait to read how you make out with three parks in one day!

It's only ten in the morning here and I am literally DROOLING over that Ohana pic!

Glad RnRC didn't stay closed the whole day. I'm excited to try the Animation class this time around.

I am so glad you liked Ohana...it is one of my faves and we are eating there next month :goodvibes

Sounds like a busy plan for the next day!!

LOL! I would not have been opposed to going back to 'Ohana! It was sooooo good.

I drool every time I look at those pics, too. Or even just think about our meal!

My DDs are looking forward to going to the class on our next family trip. DD10 has already said she hopes to draw Buzz Lightyear!

As I mentioned previously, our original plans were to head to AK on Saturday morning, then hop to Epcot. But because Angie wanted to ride RnR more, we decided to go to HS first thing, then hop to AK, then hop to Epcot. So our last day together at the parks was going to be a busy one! I don't recall what time we left our room, but I do know we were at HS right for opening.

We headed straight for RnR and grabbed FPs. I don't remember what the stand-by wait was, but the single rider wait was next to nothing so we hopped in that line! The three of us did end up in the same car but split up, of course… but that didn't matter! As soon as we got off, Angie and Kat got back in the single rider line to ride again (I had started getting a headache after riding RnR twice in a row the day before and didn't want to chance that, so I let them go on without me). They literally breezed right through the line, and went back in the single rider line for a 3rd time! By now our FP return time was up so we all got back in line to ride again! Four times each for Angie and Kat, just twice for me… but it was great!

Before we left HS we grabbed a cinnamon roll from Starring Rolls to share. It was pretty good… nothing like the ones you can get at the Main Street Bakery from what I hear, but it was still yummy!

I think it was about 10:30 by then, and we decided to go catch the bus from HS to AK.

Once at AK, Kat and I headed over to ride EE. Angie had decided she wanted to ride Dinosaur, since she'd never been on this ride. She knew she'd be going on that ride by herself, as I won't ride it ever again (it's too loud and jerky for me) and neither will Kat.

Kat and I parted ways with Angie and Dinoland and continued on to EE. We grabbed FPs (including one for Angie) before getting in line. I think the wait was listed as being 20 minutes, but it did not take that long at all. In fact, I think we even got back in line to ride again!

Afterwards, we met back up with Angie… guess what? She didn't like Dinosaur (for the same reasons as me, it's too loud and jerky... and she doesn't like things jumping out at her)! But she can at least now say she's been on the ride.

The three of us were getting hungry so we headed to Flame Tree BBQ for lunch.

This was another place I had yet to try… and it was really good! Kat and I both had the pulled pork sandwich while Angie had the smoked turkey breast sandwich. Kat and I also shared an order of onion rings which were very yummy. We took our time eating since we knew once we finished we were going to head back to EE to use our FPs. We sat there for a good while, eating and talking, and letting our food digest.

After the three of us rode EE, we did a little shopping and then took the bus back to Pop. I think it was about 3:00 or so when we left AK. We were all hot and tired and since our dinner ADR wasn't until 7, we decided to go back to our room to chill out for a little bit and freshen up. Kat left for Epcot around 5, as she wanted to do a bit more shopping around the World Showcase. Angie and I didn't leave Pop until 6, and we met Kat at Rose & Crown right at 7:00.

We had yet another fabulous dinner! This was my first time dining at R&C (you can read more about our R&C dinner on my Dining Review) and I would be happy to go back! The food was really good.

We were seated out on the patio, though we didn't have a great view for IllumiNations. That didn't really bother me since it's not my favorite fireworks show, but our dinner was a great way cap to a fabulous day!

Dinner took three hours :-)eek:) so it was after 10:00 when we were leaving Epcot. The line for the bus to Pop was sooo long… definitely the worst wait for a bus we'd had. I don't know what time we ended up back in our room. But I do know that after visiting three parks we were exhausted!

Up next: saying goodbye to my friends, and hello to my family!

It's funny how that day started out as our Animal Kingdom day - and then with the blisters y'all were having, you were thinking we'd just skip it and sleep in - and then I was going to go without you - and then Angie wanted to do RnR - and then all of a sudden we go from doing nothing to doing three parks! We should have found a way to go to MK and ride one thing so we could have gone to all four parks! ;)

I think Flame tree BBQ was my favorite counter service of the trip. On our next trips, I don't have any ADRs at AK so that we can eat there again!

Sounds like you had a busy, but very fun day!! RnR gives me a headache after too many rides too!! Three hours sounds like quite a long dinner :rotfl: but the food looks really yummy!!

I have complete sympathy for your feet. I am about to tell the same exact story almost in my TR. I can't wait to try animation. Next time i'm doing the drawing, even if i have to do it myself:) i think a three hour leisurely dinner with friends sounds perfect after as busy as you were that day!

All caught up! Loving the TR so far!

Yay on meeting Stitch! I was also amazed with how Miyuki turned candy into various sculptures - she sure is talented.

Oh no on the shoes being no good in the rain - that sounds painful.

Mmm I tried that red velvet cupcake and it was amazing! :lovestruc

We were so crazy... but not crazy enough to attempt going to MK, I don't think! Between my blister and Angie's bum ankle, I don't think we would've made it, LOL!

Flame Tree was really good! I think I'd say it was my favorite, too.

I'm sure we were quite a sight... 'cause I'm fairly certain that as the day went on, the slower we walked! And I'm with you about RnR... I don't see how Angie and Kat went 4 times in a row!

Well, I definitely learned my lesson, LOL! I will be sure to bring my tennis shoes on any and all future trips to WDW!

Yay, welcome back, Tanz! Wow, I can't believe you're caught up already. Glad you tried the Red Velvet! Oh, it sure was yummy.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately! This week has been busy, and I've also been waiting to get our PhotoPass pics, so I can add those to my TR. I kind of want to hold off on any further updates until I can add the PP pics... hopefully that will be soon!

Ooooh... LOVE me some Flame Tree BBQ! We were really impressed with the chicken there, and I don't eat chicken as a rule, hardly ever. I kept on stealing it off his plate.:lmao:

Can't wait to hear more, though I'm 100% with you on waiting for photopass. I'm going the same with my TR, because there were just so many good pictures, especially in AK!:thumbsup2

Yay!!! My PhotoPass pictures are here! As soon as I can get them uploaded to Photobucket, I'll post them! :goodvibes

Woo hoo!:woohoo: Just got mine uploaded yesterday, I was seriously impressed with a lot of them!

Can't wait to see yours!:goodvibes

This was my first time using PhotoPass... I'm impressed, too! We got a ton of great pictures.

But it's pretty funny to look at the days... as the days went on, we had less and less PP pics, LOL! The first day of Part 2 of my trip, I think we had something like 67 photos! But then the next day, only 15. By the last day, I think we only had 7!

Before I go any further with my TR, I want to post the PhotoPass pics from Part 1 of my trip! So here are a few from our day at Epcot (9/1):

Our first ride on Test Track:

(A note about the above photo: Kat's daughters love to make silly faces and do off-the-wall antics on rides that take your photo… so we decided to channel their spirit and do funny things ourselves! This photo we decided to do jazz hands… just wait 'til you see the next TT one!)
