Walt Disney World's 40th Anniversary is almost here! Only 4 hours! Who's going to be there tomorrow?:cheer2:

So, what do you think Disney will do for the 40th anniversary, and what are your feelings on Disney's big day?:flower3:

Simzac, thank you.
Lost in the celebration of WDW's 40th is the fact that Epcot turns 29 years old tomorrow. Happy birthday to both parks.

DH and I will be there bright and early!

Forgot to answer the other 2 questions: I don't think they'll be doing anything more than what they've already announced, which is fine by me. I am just happy to be there.

I'll be there (and will stay most of the day unless the crowds are truly miserable). I'll be tweeting on @MickeysNN if anyone is interested in updates. Anyone else who's going to be there using social media, why don't you post your info too?

Yep, I will be there with my partner and our 20 month old little girl. I can't wait!

So far, I have been able to piece the following together for what is going to happen at the MK on Saturday.
  1. There is supposed to be a special 40th Anniversary Cupcake at the Bakery, price undisclosed as of yet, so it could cost $0-$4 at best guestimate.
  2. There are rumored things to be happening to surprise guests at the Emporium on Main Street. No word officially on what or when or how, if anything, but multiple rumors from different folks that know different folks that work there that something is happening.
  3. There will be a special t-shirt for sale that will only be offered for sale on Saturday for the folks that are there in the MK.
  4. There will be several Disney artists on hand for signings of their wares at various locations throughout the day. http://psc.disney.go.com/eventservices/artofdisneyparks//event/wdw_40thanniversarysignings.html
  5. At 9:45 AM there will be a character flood/parade up Main Street followed by a trolley. The parade will end at the castle stage where Meg Crofton is to speak and if I am interpreting the info correctly, the Dapper Dans will be leading the crowds in a Sing A Long. There will be a little daytime pyro thrown in for good measure.
  6. Wishes will be performed with a special Anniversary Finale including perimeter fireworks.
  7. There will many special commemorative pins released for sale at the MK on Saturday. http://eventservices.disney.go.com/pintrading/event?id=59197

They added wristbands to the protocol for buying the limited edition pins and Vinylmation merch tomorrow. According to the Pin Blog http://eventservices.disney.go.com/pintrading/event?id=28460

Can't tell you how much I wish I was going. Have a great time PPs! Be sure to post and tell us all about it.

The interesting thing is that transporatation isn't running at 6:00 a.m. so how do people get there. Unless you are staying at the Contemporary or you have your own car and you are a resort guest and can park at the Contemporary I don't know how others will get there. Just wondering?

I didn't even realize this. I really don't need/want anything but happy to be there.

We're going to MK on Sun.

That's great! What a nice memory... :thumbsup2

I haven't heard anything. It doesn't mean nothing'll happen.. I just literally have not heard a peep about this. Interesting...

Also, I'll be there in hopefully about 30 minutes. You can follow my tweets.. @klewald (there's also a link in my signature).

Here now at the TTC. They are running busses directly to MK since there is no monorail or ferry transportation. CM told us there were about 75-80 in line for wristbands at the MK as of now.

DH an I will be there......Living local has it's advantages an disadvantages sometimes both at the same time.

Yeah I get to go which I prolly would not get to do if I did not live local. But DH does not want to go till closer to lunch time an stay for the fireworks..that's my disadvantage along with not having a room to go to for afternoon break.

Hall of Presidents is always good for quick nap an as much as I love Carosuel of Progress it makes for a quick nap sometimes too theres always the monorail an the TTA

OHHHHHHHHHHHH an I have been laid up all week with my back not stood up straight in a week but I going to the MK today no assistance other than my muscle relaxers an pain meds which are good for about 4 hours of being pain free.

DW and I are here now waiting on the pre-show. Were next to Lou Mongello for a few minutes but are now sitting under one of the trees. The area is almost standing room only.
