We start our WDW vaca on 10/30 with a stay at BLT. We are flyi g in on 10/29 in the am. The original plan was to stay one night at the GF (never stayed before.) Now I'm thinkingwe should book one night at a US hotel instead.
We had planned on visiting US mid week. But could stay 10/29 and visit on Sun 10/30 instead. Thoughts? Advice?

Love the idea -- that's how I'd do it myself, except I'd spend three or four days at US/IoA and I'd probably stay at AKL instead of the GF once I got to Disney.

Enjoy.

I think you should book a stay as one of the on-site hotel. I am sure the price would be cheaper then the GL. We love the Royal Pacific. You could probably even do club level cheaper then GL. WE like Disney but they have priced us out...Will stay at US and taxi over to Disney if we want to visit. We are coming down in November and staying at RPR and getting a taxi over to MK for the Christmas party one night.

we like GF but the price is outrageous now. the best Fla. resident rate

we were quoted last week was over 500 dollars for a standard room:scared1:

and that was with a discount.(my mom loves the place)

We LOVE PB and will not stay anywhere else now.

The only problem I see with your plan is both dates are during HHN and the hotels might have a minimum stay for the weekend. Both days, the Studios will close at 5pm for HHN but you can go to IOA until 7pm. Make sure to check with the hotels to see if there is indeed a minimum stay.

I was able to get a passholder rate for the one night at the GF. It was $390 (inc tax) for an outer building MK view.
But, to be able to get the express pass at US we should stay on site at least the one night correct? The kids have never been and they are really looking forward to WWHP. They are not thrill riders so I am not sure that IoA in general will be a hit with them. Just trying to figure out the best plan of attack financially as well as time wise.

Yes...one night onsite gives you 2 days of FOTL access. IOA is great...Suess Landing is in there, Spiderman, and Griffindor is there (small coaster). Both US and IOA are great parks and you will have a lot of fun!.

You also have some nice water rides (assuming that it stays warm) and Jurassic Park. I also think that onsite can't be beat.
