LegoLand Florida !!!

Does anybody else have excited kids about the opening of Legoland in Florida?? Is it possible to start a thread on information people discover about the new park?

I am curious if people are going to Legoland are they staying at a Disney resort and heading there for a day or two or staying closer to the Legoland park. They have preferred hotels but I am not able to price anything up yet on their website, I'm assuming because it doesn't open until October 15th.

I have two huge lego fans and I think they will love it so we are hoping to book a visit there very soon!!!

Looking forward to any info & reviews when Legoland officially opens. We had other plans for June 2012 but we are changing them to visit Legoland, Universal & a few days at WDW for June. Our DS is 11 & a big Lego fan so we wanted to get to Legoland Florida before he becomes to old. He is very excited about it. We are staying in Lake Buena Vista & driving down for the day.

We visited the one in San Diego this June. It was fun, but very geared towards younger kids. I'd say toddler to 6 will love the park. Now we did make the mistake of wondering into the park and not reading the map. So we started our morning in the real baby-baby section. By the time we got to the rides that had a little bit more teeth, the lines were getting long.

I should add that we have just one kiddo, DD8, and some of the rides aimed at the older set looked a little too rough for her.

I loved Miniature Land. That area was DH's favorite too.

Looking at the map (to the Florida one), layout looks very similiar, and most of the attractons/rides seem to be duplicates. I will be curious to read about how the two parks compare.

Enjoy! It's a very different experience than Disney, and fantastic for the toddler set, and older kids will find stuff to do too. Just make sure you head to the right of entrance to reach those attractions and travel counter clockwise.

I am seriously considering a super fast trip down for MNSSHP and 1 day at Lego Land, staying offsite.

I was just at Disney for a week in June... hope the hubs will go for it!

We are heading to LegoLand Florida in November and then to Vero Beach to be near family for Thanksgiving. My son is 8 and is very excited...not too many hotel options, we are actually staying at a Holiday Inn Express..5 miles away since we had some points and got the 2 nights for free.

We are going next month for 1 day - planning to be there on October 21st. We are staying closer to WDW, after all the drive should only be 25-30 minutes. We already have our tickets too!

DS (9) and DD (7) are both very excited, and so are we!

We went to the one in California in 2001. My boys were 7 and 12 at the time. The 7 year old loved it and the 12 year old went along with it. They had lego cars that you could drive. They had to go to a driving "school" first and earn their license. Then they were allowed to drive. It was very cute and my 12 year old liked that. It was also a very clean parked. We enjoyed it a lot.

We are planning a trip to go to Sea World and MNSSHP next year and I'm wondering if we should add in a day at Legoland or if that would be too much for a short (4 night) trip? Especially since Legoland is 45 minutes away from the WDW area. My kids are also Lego fans and really enjoyed the Lego Center in DTD during our recent WDW vacation. I am also concerned my twins (who will be 10 years old) are going to be too big/old to appreciate/enjoy Legoland? I am sure it will be perfect for my 2 and 4 year olds.

We visited Lego Land California back in 2008 while my kids were 9 and 7. They both enjoyed it, but my son (who is a lego fan) is eager to go back. I too would be curious how this park will differ from the one in California. I know there will be some similarities, but I hope it's different enough to want to visit it.

We are going to kick off our Jan. trip with a visit to Legoland! We live in GA, so we will drive down on 12/31 and arrive in the early evening. We'll spend 1/1/12 at Legoland and will stay both nights off site somewhere nearby. We're doing this as to avoid the New Year's rates at Disney, which are We'll check into our resort (still unknown ) on 1/2 and start our Disney vacation. We wanted to also include Universal, but it's just too much for this trip. Hopefully we'll make it back for that another time.

Anyway, soooooooooooo excited about Legoland!

Oh, BTW, make sure if you're going to LL in the winter that you check the calendar on their site. I wanted to see the park hours for Jan. and noticed that they are closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Jan. and Feb. What a bummer that would be to show up there just to find our they're closed. Talk about a Griswold moment!

WE will be visiting LegoLand in Nov, my boys are so excited!!!! We will be staying at Disney our whole trip, going to rent a car and drive to Legoland just for the day. It looks to be only about 45 minutes away, not too bad since that's what I drive to work everyday. I had read an article (I think it was on here somewhere) that there was going to be some sort of shuttle bus you could take from the outlet mall to and from Legoland for a very small fee (I can't remember what it was though). Sorry I didn't pay more attention and am not of more help.

I think I saw that shuttle on legoland's website. We are planning on taking one day of our Disney trip in Nov for it - we drive, so it's no issue getting there. Hard to take a day from Disney, but we just became DVC and are doing AP - so we'll be back!

Not sure if this has been mentioned but you and one other person get in free to Legoland between October 24-30, 2011.
You can get the VIP Card at the Lego store.

we are visiting Legoland during our trip to Florida in October - which just so happens to be opening week of Legoland - we are going on the Thursday after opening day. Our DS 6 loves Lego and we have left this part of the trip a total surprise for him - cannot wait to see his face.

We are staying offsite near WDW and just making the day trip to Legoland and then having dinner at nearby Mannys Chophouse which I have read excellent reviews on here.

Cannot wait - getting really excited.

We will be visiting Legoland in June 2012. My DS is super excited! He and DH went to the one in California last summer when they were there visiting my MIL. He absolutely loved it. He is totally obsessed with Legos. I think he is more excited about going to Legoland than WDW.

We are staying offsite for our trip since DH will actually be attending a conference for part of the week. We will be renting a car and driving from Orlando.

When DH and DS went last summer in California, my MIL had purchased some special passes that allowed them to go to the front of the line for all the rides. DH said that it was pretty expensive, but I don't recall how much he said they were. I wonder if they will offer something similar. It might be worth the money if I don't have to stand in line in the Orlando summer heat with a 2 & 7 year old.

We are at legoland fla. right now. my 5 and 6 yr old love it. It takes about 3 days to do "all of lego" It is nice to be somewere that your kids can go on all the rides. (note my kids are 44 inch tall, that is the highest requirment of any of the rides)

one thing I dont like about legoland fla. is the fair type games (toss the ball and hit something type games) that cost a token or several tokens to play also one remote jeep game also cost tokens. I may take the time to actually fill out a survey to tell them as much

I'm staying at a local hotel in Winter Haven. I like being somewere that I can drive around without getting lost and eat at resteraunts that I am use to.
