It's been a while since our last trip to Board Walk. I know they eliminated the free valet parking but does if cost for DVC members to park their own vehicles?

No charge for self parking at any WDW owned resort.

Are you staying at the BWV or visiting the BWV for evening entertainment? In both cases, the cost is free, but they may direct you to different parking lots depending on the nature of your visit.

The last I heard, self-parking for resort guests was close to the resort - we were told to park on the left side of the guard shack where valet is. Valet doesn't (didn't) have the entire parking lot to themselves anymore, so we could use the back half of that lot and the one to the right. Visitors have been told to park across the street I believe.

Do they offer free valet parking for persons with disabilities, if you are a DVC member?:confused3

It's my understanding that valet parking is free for people with disabilities, regardless if they're DVC Members or not. Can anyone confirm this is still true?

If you have a disabilitie tag for your car valet parking is free at all resorts.

Thanks to everyone for the information. First stay at BWV this Oct. and was concerned about the parking issue as we always stay at SSR or OKW.

during the F&WF (including oct), they are much more stringent about parking. not only does the person in the guardshack disallow visitors from using the resort guest lot, they station another guard (with big umbrella and cooler:)) at the second entrance for most of the day, checking resort ids.
unfortunately, during the rest of the year, many day visitors will tell the guard in the shack they are going to valet or are going to the lot across the street, then make thequick right and turn into the resort guest anyway
i wish they would keep a guard there year round, but i'm sure it's not finacially feasible (aside from the lack of spots for resort guests, we have witnessed some "incidents" during the rest of the year: in may, there was a group of post-prom goers, who were - underage - partying and drinking from beer and hard lliquor bottles from their cars' trunks, as others sped through the lot screaming some really foul language. yes, we told the FD - the danger to themselves was bad enough with the excessive underage drinking, and driving, but they posed a serious danger to others).
despite the lack of control of the BW lot during non-F&WF times, it is still our favorite resort :cloud9:
