F&w 2012

I know it is a year away but we are thinking about going to F&W in 2012 but really can't take the summer or Sept heat.

At what point does the heat let up in Florida and will it be while F&W is still going? I thought it goes to early November.

Yes, F&W usually runs from late Sept/early Oct to mid November. It can be warm all during that time. Last year during Oct the temp one weekend dropped down to the 60s and it was in the 90s a week or so earlier.

If you go towards the end of the festival you would have the best chance for not as hot weather.

We were there in mid-October of 2009 and thought we were going to burst into flames. They had record heat, and even the Floridians were complaining! We went in mid-October 2008 in as well, and it was tolerable, but still warm.

You may want to shoot for late October into November. This year F&W ends November 13, so the first week of Nov may be a safe bet.

I went Halloween weekend in 2009, which also happens to be my birthday weekend. Weather was perfect, and the crowds were not bad at all - I think a lot of people were gravitating to MK and MNSSHP.

I think I was there the same time as you in 2009, mid-week in the middle of October, 2009. So hot! But the funny thing was, it went from record heat to almost record cold in a few days. I remember sitting at the movies on the beach at BCV sipping hot chocolate. Yet, a few days earlier it had been in the mid-90s and I was so uncomfortable. And yet 2008 was almost perfect weather.

Us too, as you said record heat that year.

My record cold experience was 12/4/10 - 12/11/10. Brrrrr. . . but this is getting off topic.

We have not given up on October. We will be there 49 days from now :-)banana:) for 8 nights. I am hoping for low to mid-80's during the day, but I'll take whatever mother nature has to offer.

I think October is my favorite month at WDW. F&W, MNSSHP, and the milder weather. . . if only DS was not 5yo and starting to have to follow the school schedule. . . we're on our way to suffering in the summer heat for the next decade!!:scared1:

Lol we were there too.....I remember the first few days of our trip not having the cheddar cheese soup from Canada since it was sooo hot out.....then the last part of our trip walking around the would showcase in jeans and jackets

I am thinking right after Halloween beginning of November. I just can't take the humidity or heat anymore. I think were there in Sept of 2009 around the 28th when the festival first opened. It was 10:30 in the morning and I went to Rose and Crown to get a Guiness I was so hot already and just needed a cold drink. The day just kept getting hotter. I think we ended up back at BCV and spent the rest of the day at the pool.

Thanks for all the good information.
