The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Pat you got some really great pictures of an empty Epcot...something I've never been able to do. Spectacular.

Getting the early breakfast ARD or the tour is the way to go. I am glad we had a beautiful day.

I do have to say my favorite pic is the one of Chris catching up on his sleep though. Amazing that our teenage sons (well, mine aren't teenagers anymore) can sleep anywhere. :lmao::lmao:

We were at Guest services at 7:50am. I got him out of bed early. :lmao:
He did go willingly and ahead of me. :lmao:

School starts tomorrow and he will be getting up at 6 am. :scared1: He is not a morning person so even when he is up that early you DO NOT speak to him, if you get anything back it will be a growl. :rotfl2:

Soon our guide arrived and took us back to Innoventions.

We were orientated and told to pick out a helmet.

We did our inside skills to get used to the Segway. Remember LaMont? He was the CM yesterday changing the queue setup at the Segway demo. Well it turns out LaMont was our guide and he was funny. He was great especially with Chris. He picked on him but just enough.

We set out on our World showcase tour. There was a wedding going on in Italy so we went half way , going by Canada, the UK, France and Morocco and then we had turn around and go all the way back around to finish World Showcase.

In Morocco, we were told about the tile in the fountain that was different since nothing is perfect the tile work was not either. In the UK we were told how the buildings represent different periods in history.

No pictures were allowed until we got to Japan where we could get off and the guides would take our pictures.

He showed us hidden Mickeys in both Germany and the UK. I had to go back to snap the pictures since we could not take them while on the Segway.
We were done around 11.

We enjoyed the tour and the experience.

We hit up SS for a late breakfast and Chris took off to DQ and I decided to head to DHS.

On the way out through the IG. Do you see the HM?

How should I spend the rest of my day?

I'm sorry, but I have to giggle when you mention LaMont. All I can hear is Fred Sanford saying "Ya' big dummy!" I loved Sanford and Son! And all of you who don't know who I am talking about....I don't want to hear about how darn young you are....:snooty: :rotfl:

The Segway sounded like a lot of fun! And that's great the CM you saw the previous day setting up the demo area was there again. He was definitely the tour guide for you two. :thumbsup2

Oooo... it's interesting to hear about these little facts from your tour. I gotta look at the buildings in the UK now, see if I can bring out my inner-nerd and see which building is which era. And that's also fun that he added Hidden Mickeys into the tour. I think I see the one you pointed out... :confused3

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I do know who you are talking about. :lmao: I did not watch S&S but I do remember the characters.

The tour looks like a lot of fun. I have to say that I kind of snickered when I saw the first pic of you and Chris together; it reminded me of my son...never smiles in pictures with his mother. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Turns out LaMonte ( I just realized his name tag has an e at the end) was one of the originals for the Segway tour. He worked at many of the EPCOT attractions and was part of the group that got to design the Segway tour. The other guide, Jake had the history and fun facts while LaMonte mostly dealt with the safety and actual riding of the Segway part.

The tours are great about giving you those little secrets that are right there if you know where to look.

He was putting on his "manly" face. :lmao:

The first picture of me alone is awful and somehow we were both caught off guard. I guess I could say I was focusing. :rotfl:

We had so much fun Segwaying in Chicago! I'll bet Disney is so much stricter than our tour guys were. We were taking pictures and videos while were were zipping along. Our second tour even took the speed restrictions off of our Segways so we went really fast......
Vrooooom!!!!!!

You are so going to love having Beach Club as your very own welcome home!!!

I'd enjoy taking a segway tour, but I think that will be one of those things that I'll let Jill and John do someday while I hang out with the girls. John is not a huge Disney fan, but he would like playing with the riding toy, so that would add to his enjoyment of a vacation.

I bet that wedding in Italy was cool. Could you see anything, or did you have to stop too far back?

Looks like a lot of fun! And I see the Hidden Mickey! :woohoo:

Sounds like someone is looking forward to the Beach Club Villas...

I Hate tourists in segways here in Berlin, they always get in my way when I ride my bike to or from work. But this tour sounds more and more interesting, I didn't know they would give out some behind the scenes-information...

Absolutely Disney was strict- no pictures or video while onthe Segway. They were on turtle mode so they would only go so fast. Since we had to go from the UK to France we really picked up some speed on that hill.

I had been on an all terain Segway at work( we were guinea pigs for a new program :teeth:) and we were actually playing tag on the segways ... until someone fell off. :rolleyes1 NOT ME one of our more accident prone co-workers.

I love it already. I was able to score the 30th at BCV. Of course now I still have one day open and 3 resorts. :lmao: Once I get it covered hopefully I can get the first 3 at BCV or SSR and then the last 2 nights at AKL.

It was fun and the Segway is really easy to use. Try the free demo in Innovention sometime. It gives you a little taste. I am sure John would like it but someday you should do it. :thumbsup2

They kept us pretty far away. We were able to go by later after they both confirmed the ceremony was over but still we did not even get a glimpse. :sad2: All of our heads were turned to see if anyone see anything. It was amazing none of use crashed as we passed Italy b/c we were not looking forward.

party: :welcome: party:

It is hard to look where you are going and look at the sights.:rotfl:

The tour was mostly through world showcase while it is still closed. As you stop in each country, the guides will show you the Hidden Mickeys and explain some little know facts about the significance of why it was built that was and some hidden things you would not ordinarily notice.

Fresh from my Segway tour and Chris on his way to DQ, I arrive at DHS
Had to say hello to Chelsea’s main man.

The backside of Bo.

IMG_7529.jpg

Being I arrived at DHS around noon FP for TSM were long gone.
As I sauntered down Sunset Blvd, the Halloween gear was out in full force. Mind you it was Labor Day.

IMG_7531.jpg

I caught these guys driving and not paying any attention to the road.

IMG_7530.jpg

I wander further and find this sign.

IMG_7532.jpg

I will give you a moment to place it…….
I picked up a FP for ToT

IMG_7534.jpg

But made a beeline for the single riders line here.

Did you know that you can find almost everything you need if you ever arrived at Disney with NO luggage? I ought about that but was never able to find the undies.

Well now I did.

IMG_7550.jpg

The only thing missing is the top part of the undies and I could travel without luggage.

It is time for my FP window for ToT so I head back down Sunset. Then I see her.

IMG_7551.jpg

She is stopping those women and asking “ Are you lost?” I was told to get lost so I am trying to find her.

That caught me so off guard. I was not expecting that so I was laughing hard. Such a one liner but it made me laugh.

FP window open but it was not needed.

I approached the check in desk as many guests before me.

Horrible blurry redneck pic- I am second row on the right.

With no line what do I do – ride again.

With still a short wait posted, I went around again.

IMG_7567.jpg

I got to here and saw this.

IMG_7568.jpg

I invoked the FP . I ducked under the FP and ducked under the rope to the nonexistent line.
