Went to the website and a window popped up that said "guess our new destination" and had a clue. And they've posted something similar on facebook. I wish they would just put the itineraries on the website already. I'ts not a well kept secret anyway.

Is the answer Greece? I looked it up and sounds like it's in Turkey but I know they aren't going there. I checked the fb site and they said they added 2 new countries. I can't figure out the other one. Home of a famous inventor and biking the countryside? Hmmmm....

Greece and France are the 2 new destinations...I don't think this is a secret.

I had forgotten but just remembered that on our Swiss Alps trip in July, our guide told us they were eliminating one of the destinations and that she was shocked and saddened by this - I tried to guess which destination but she wouldn't give me even a clue. We'll have to see next week, I guess.

OMG, I wonder which one they're getting rid of. That's going to be sad.

Sayhello

Oh for cripes sake I am too old for highschool games. IF you notice on the window at the bottom it says clue and the number 1 throught eight and you can't click on any other number. I guess each day a new "clue" will be revealed. This is not endearing me to ABD in fact it is quite irritating, just announce the trips and stop the games.

I've been watching this on Facebook--just one other venture to drum up word of mouth etc. It doesn't bother me any--the announcement will come out when it comes out, so the lead up is of no real consequence....so chillax!

It may not bother you but it annoys me and I am expressing my opinion just as you are expressing yours. I think it is childish nonsense so please don't tell me to chillax for expressing my opinion.

Tozzie- I agree with you; I find it manipulative. I think for people who only take ABD trips it might be a fun way to anticipate. But for those of us who comparison shop, the lateness of their announcement has led me to be looking at other options. I am now sorry I did not book a refundable option with another company. There is a good chance I won't like what ABD offers( given the " teaser" info I've got) and I'll have to scramble to get 6 spaces elsewhere. Also the air to my destination just made a huge drop; and I could have jumped on that if I had dates. If I miss this price drop I will not be happy.

I guess if they can fill their trips with just people who only travel ABD, never needing the ocassional or new guest, they can do what they like. I'm a pretty big ABD booster if you read my posts; but I'm annoyed with the delay and now the cutesy attention getting tactics. Trips should be available at least 1 year in advance.

But they don't fill up their trips. Our guides even seemed concerned about it. We had only 16 on our trip this summer. Out of the 3 ABDs we've taken, only one was full. I think there are more reports on this board from folks whose trips were not full than otherwise. I think they need a lot of new guests and can't really afford to lose the loyal ones either.

I have taken 3 ABD trips and none of them have been full, one had 19 one had 31 and one had 22. I have not used another company but these games, the deceptive tactics they used with the webcast and the incentives they offer after the loyal people have booked and are not elegible for the incentives are really turning me off. I think another thing that really turned opened my eyes the the DCL Med Cruise I went on in July, I didn't do the ABD add on as most of the excursions I wanted to do were not the ones ABD did, I had a cabin with a veranda, booked all my excursions through DCL so I had the great Disney Serviice and it cost me probably $2000 less than the European ABD trips I have done. I am thinking long and hard about next year, I can't really make plans early this year due to some work issues that won't be resolved until Dec-Jan but these childish games are not endearing me to ABD at al.

I have to agree. In our case we have to scheduale our vacations at least a year in advance we could not wait until the end of August to see what is available. We already made next yaers tour with Tauck because they published their tours early summer and it fit our vacation scheduale. Second our last tour was only 1/2 full. Like the cruise lines, ABD should go after their past guests hard to develop loyalty IMHO.

They're not only annoying loyal ABD customers. It seems like they're not going after Disney fanatics, who would seem to be perfect prospects for their business.

At the D23 Expo in Anaheim that just ended I tried to talk to an ABD rep about the new itineraries and was greeted with an uncomfortable stare. "Our new tours will be announced Aug. 30," was all he would say. Come on, ABD, the information is out there. While Disney executives from other divisions were laying out plans for upcoming projects, ABD reps stood in a relatively large empty space handing out 2011 brochures. (Although I also got a green passport holder the first day of the expo.) If the new trips were announced at D23, they may have gotten a publicity boost. What a missed opportunity!

Also, I went looking for "Clue 2" on the ABD website today and I couldn't find it. Anyone know what it is?

The clue wouldn't come up on the ABD website for me either. But here it is from Facebook:

Clue #2: Stomp into the fun and take a sip of this sweet dessert.

So, does anyone know what the answer is? I don't think I can wait another week for all of the clues to be published. popcorn::

Several of the Adventures have been changed a bit and there are several new Adventures.

Disney likes to control the release of their information.

The next years pricing and promotions are not released until mid-summer for WDW.

In my meeting with the folks from ABD, I have explained that many guests need information earlier than the end of August.

i can understand WDW trips being released in late summer, but ABD? too late really.

If you want to do a May/June trip AND wish to use Frequent flier miles you have to book at the 11 month mark to get FF seats. By the time ABD comes out with stuff, FF seats can long be gone.

That can make the difference between going and not going!

Sometimes too much control can backfire. ABD lost us for next year's vacation adventure trip but hpoefully they will heed your request or rather suggestion.:confused3

I tried to discuss the issue of FF miles and upgrades and the need to know dates with a ABD rep last week! Rude is all I can say! I mentioned that we have been on three tours in the last few years and that I would think Disney would want my return business. He was extremely curt and wouldn't give me ANY information. I called back to see if I would get sAme from another rep. This one was nicer and offered to call me on august 30. I pushed a little bit, asking if I could have some idea of dates and she did give me some dates for Ireland and Alaska 2012-but they are tentative.

Also, while trying to book something through ABD for Christmas, I discovered that they will 'hold' spots . Found out because I did not hold our spots and when I called the next day, I was told that spots were filled and I could be put on wait list. Not sure the criteria for holding spots and it seems it varies who you may be talking to.
