Need Disney-themed food ideas

I need some help only forum members can supply! We're heading to WDW at the end of next month. There are 11 of us in all, 6 Newbies and 5 Disney pros. The pros are having a "get-to-know-the-parks" pre-trip party on Labor Day for the Newbies. We've got lots of activities planned, but would like to put a Disney "twist" to the food. Any suggestions? What are some of your best Disney-inspired dishes? What Disney parties have you had, and what was the most successful part of the party? Thanks for any suggestions!

Hit up the Disney Recipe thread in this forum (it has an Index so you can see if your favorites are listed).
You can do a park theme or a hotel theme or mix them up. Have fun and have a great trip!

Ps...forgot to add that you can buy or make some Disney decorations (do a google search for printables that you can have the kids color or do yourself).

There are Mickey shaped chicken nuggets out there in some stores (Walmart, Winco, etc). I think there are even Disney cheeses, crackers, graham cracker bites, etc. I've also used a Mickey head cookie cutter and cut out brownies, banana bread, sandwiches. I just found Lightening McQueen shaped pretzels at Winco or Target, I can't remember which store. Disney shopping site also has food items for sale, occassionally (I got some Mickey and Friends shaped pasta!). Family.com site has Disney recipes and shaped crafts, too. Have fun!!

Not sure I would want the newbies to taste my version of a true Disney food, so I would avoid trying to make something that they might get to eat there. But I love the other ideas. A cake shaped like a Mickey head would be easy to make (or even a big Mickey cookie cake). I love taking new people. It is so much fun seeing their responses to everything!

Thanks for the ideas! We've got a Mickey cookie cutter and will use it to make sandwiches as suggested. I also like the idea of character shaped food and will go on line to find some. The Newbies in the group range in age from 18 months to 65! The Pros are determined to give them a great trip. Planning it has been so much fun for us. They are going to have a fantastic time, and so will we!

We just had an EPCOT party for my DD's 16th birthday It was great fun!!! We made a dish for each country; for instance ~ Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup, Rice Cream from Norway, scones & cream from the UK, etc. We have 4 Disney cookbooks and found lots of easy recipes in them.

I went to a late night Disney themed scrap party once and altho it wasnt disney recipes it was themed that way. They printed out menus and everything was disney-ized:

"Mickey's Dinner Menu"
Pluto's Puppy Chow
Goofy's Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwiches
Donald's Chicken Noodle and Tomato Soup
Minnie and Daisy's Diet Veggie Tray
Chip and Dales Dry Roasted Peanuts
Mickey's Giant Cookie (shaped like M's head)
