Thanks for the excitement about the new trip everyone! Needless to say, we can't wait to get back to Disney! For some reason, our trips just keep getting closer and closer together!
Ok, back to the honeymoon...
DAY 1 Pt. 4
After our Captain Cooks lunch, Miguel drifted off to sleep and I soon followed him. We ended up sleeping about 2 hours, which turned in to a daily activity. The combination of waking up early, walking, and the hot, hot sun is enough to wear you out!
Around 5, we woke up and got ready for our evening at DHS. We were excited to eat at Sci-Fi again, and to experience the nighttime DHS atmosphere - our favorite time in the park!
We decided to take the bus over to DHS (we normally do a lot of driving while at Disney) and thankfully one pulled up after only a few minutes at the bus stop.
Soon enough, we were at Hollywood Studios!
Of course, we had to stop for some more PP photos! I was loving getting to whip out my card and load it up with pictures! This particular photographer noticed our just married buttons, and had us play up the fact that we were on our honeymoon. I expected more photographers to do this, but surprisingly, not many did.
We didnt have much time before our ADR, but we did squeeze in some time for the Great Movie ride. I actually didnt know there were two different story lines that you could get until recently, but I made sure to pay attention this time. We got the gangster story line and both of the CMs on our ride were great.
When we exited the ride, we only had about 10 minutes until our ADR time, so we hightailed it over to Commisary Lane to get checked in.
There was no need to hurry though we were informed that the restaurant was running about 30 minutes behind, so there would be a bit of a wait. This must be common for Sci-Fi, because in our two times there, they have been behind both times.
Finally, our name was called and we were led back to our car. We were hitch-hickers behind another family.
We decided to start off our meal just like we did on our November trip - with the spinach artichoke dip. Very tasty!
For my dinner, I wanted a burger, which is on the lunch menu. Back in November, I had no trouble ordering it. This time though, our waiter complained that the cooks really hated cooking them for dinner. The family we were seated with wanted a few as well though, so the server relented and we got our burgers ordered. Im not sure if it was just this particular waiter, or if they really are trying to get away from serving burgers for dinner, but I think from now on we will plan lunches at Sci-Fi instead of dinners just to be safe.
Im glad our waiter relented, because it was super yummy!
Miguel got the Italian Chicken Sandwich and he very much enjoyed it. I tried a bite too and can attest that it is very good!
We were way to full for dessert, so we settled our bill and headed back out onto the streets of Hollywood, of course stopping for a picture along the way. I've never noticed this photo spot before, but I think it's great for a nighttime picture!
In front of the hat there was a stage set up and there was a rock band taking the stage. They claimed to be the DHS landscapers and called themselves the Mulch, Sweat and Shears. We only listed to one song, but they were pretty entertaining and were decent musicians, too.
By this point we were both pretty tired, so we decided to skip EMH at DHS and nixed heading back to MK to use up our morning FPs in favor of just returning to the Poly and getting some rest. Thankfully a bus was waiting on us at the stop and we made it back to our tropical paradise in no time!
ya ya ya...you and Miguel are as sweet as sugar but THEY ARE TRYING TO GET RID OF BURGERS AT DINNER??????? WHAT??????????? just teasing. But this concerns me. Hope we won't have that issue next week. Love the burgers! Although I think I did get that chicken sandwich last time and it was good so maybe i won't give the waiter a hard time.
You didn't know that there was 2 stories on the GMR? Does that mean you've always seen the gangster? That makes me sad. It's fun to see them both. I think we end up with the cowboy more often than not. I like the anticipation of seeing where they are going to stop Dork, I know!
Subbed!! Just caught up on the report. Congratulations on your marriage. You two make the cutest couple. I am enjoying your report so far... I am envious of your stay at the Poly. It looks amazing!! Can't wait to read more!
Woo-hoo for another trip in the works! That is so exciting!! You can bet I'll be joining in on that report as well!!
Sorry that the server gave you a bit of a hard time about ordering the burger for dinner. I mean how hard is it for them to cook a burger, really? It just doesn't seem very Disney like for them to say something like that.
Such a fun update!
LOVE DHS at night!
Where is that sign?? i have never seen it before!
Also, what is the other story line on the movie ride?? I have always had the same one.
You got some great PP pictures that night! If that many people want burgers (and I know from the DIS that a lot of people want to order them at dinner), I don't know why they don't just add it to the dinner menu??
Hmm...now I don't think we'll eat at Sci-Fi for dinner on our arrival night. I wanted a burger but I could always have the chicken sandwich but for DH, I don't think there's anything else on the menu that he would like!
For some reason, the picture of the bus stop at the Poly got me excited for my trip...I'm crazy!
