Hi All,

Just booked Aug 19 - Sept 2, 2012 at Port Orleans Riverside.

Disney has given Canadians the extra time period of Aug 19 -Sept 29 to book free dining.

Quick service for Values, Regular for Mods and up.

Upgrades from QS to reg DP much more expensive for 2012 since the QS stays at 34.99 and the DP jumps to 51.54.

Decided to jump to mod instead of POP.

382 days to go!!!!

Hi
Did they extend the times for August 2011, before the 28th?
Where did you get the information for 2012?

Thanks........

I saw on the codes and rates board that it was an International offer for Aug/Sept. It didn't even occur to me that we Canadians are "international" until I saw this post:rotfl:

Well. Now I'm in a pickle. 17 days away from this vacation and I'm thinking about next years already:scared1:

This is the time frame that works best for us if we go again next year. I suppose it couldn't hurt to book and then cancel if we decide not to go again next year right?:rolleyes1

Hi,

I originally just did a google search and saw different dates. When I go thru disney.ca and select the current deal for this August/Sept there is a small line "get all offers" in the top right.
"Vacation packages" is your next selection even though that still says only to March 2012 but then you click on it and the next page says the extra time of August/Sept 2012.
I was chatting online with a Disney rep and asked if there was free dining for Aug/Sep 2012 and she said only for Canadians. I said that would work for me!

If you go to the disney site as if you are booking a reservation, it comes up under the "special offers" tab.
The only issue is that it's down for maitenance right now, but it is there.

Darn! The Free Dining is not valid for arrivals Nov 5 to Nov 13, and we arrive on the 10th :(

We are booked from Sept 21 - Oct 3 2012 and getting the free dining :cool1: We have always stayed at Pop but with in increase between the dining plans it was in our best interest to try out a Moderate, so for the first time we will be trying out a different resort other then Pop. We are heading over to Coronado Springs and we couldn't be more excited. Now to wait for March to get our ADR's in...........

How long are you staying for? Would it be worth making 2 ressies? One for the first 4 nights, and another for the rest of your trip?

Great to hear free dining. It makes such a huge difference when planning a big trip. Enjoy. We fly out Sat morning. Looks like it will be very warm indeed.

I already had a reservation at POP, I called and they weren't able to find the free dining code. I spoke with 3 different people. I finally had to cancel my first, and book again to get the free dining.

This will be part of our honeymoon, so being able to get free dining was a HUGE bonus for us. We've been to disney a bunch of times, but we've never stayed on site. I'm SUPER excited! We upgraded to the regular dining plan so we can have sit down meals for supper. We went to Boma last month for my birthday and loved it so we'll definitely be back!

I had been checking all the other boards looking for free dining. I saw it was listed for other dates, and wasn't expecting to see it posted for next year already. Yay for the Canadian board!!! :cheer2:

You should check out a Moderate. We have always stayed at Pop and dont get me wrong I love it there, still feeling a bit torn with not going this time but when you pay to upgrade to table service now Disney really increased the cost to 16.99 a day for each night of your stay, well we have 4 of us going in Sept 2012 and when we get the discount but have to pay for the upgrade to table service it only cost us $55.55 each to move over to Coronado Springs. I have never done the Moderates before so I'm a bit excited about this change but still will miss my Pop. :hippie:

Gotta love the free dining - we're planning to take advantage of it during March so that we can catch some spring training baseball games, too. Can't think of a better way to escape the snow and ice at home!:woohoo:

If there isn't a decent bounceback offer when we're at WDW in October we're going to book w/free dining for September 2012. Nice to see Disney finally recognizing & rewarding Canadians for being their #1 international visitors! :)

I did look into it, but it was about 200 more to upgrade. We are going on a cruise after this so we didn't really want to spend too much. I'm going to Disney AND I'm staying onsite. That works for me :)
