Hi DISsers!:goodvibes
Just wondering ...
IF you use a refillable mug/cup :drinking1 , filling it, of course, in a fully acceptable i.e. sanitary way, at the "free drink" station,
What kind do you favor?
Aluminum?
Insulated?
With a straw?
With a spout?
Pictures anyone :lovestruc

does anyone have a photo of the cup they have at the free drink station? this will help me decide if we will be bringing our own refillable mugs LOL

We just use the cups provided. Since we have to dirty them to fill up the refillables, it seemed easiest. And I don't have to do dishes while on vacation.

:cutie:

The cups are tiny like Mc.D's kid size cups. We bring the clear double wall tumblers (all Disney blinged up) with the hard plastic straw. One of our cups holds almost 3 of the Disney paper cups so even though I have to dirty a cup it's better than using up 3 cups. We have also used the sail away drink (who doesn't get one of those!) cup and refilled it with soda for the rest of the cruise.

I used to bring the venti sized large cold drink cup from Starbuck and use that onboard but my sister just gave me a Tervis tumbler that I love. I LOVE a ton of ice in my drink and this way I can pile in the ice and still have a decent amount of beverage. The onboard cups also start to sweat out the bottom after awhile.

She got it in Bed, Bath and Beyond but they have a website and also have some Disney ones, nautical ones, a pirate one and a ton of others.....the Disney ones in the store were smaller than what I received but looks like you can get all sizes online....some come with a travel lid and for the ones that don't you can order lids and straws.

Mine has a lid, is double walled to reduce condensation, can be used for hot or cold drinks and has a long, flexible straw.

Well I think this means DH and I will be bringing out own Refillable Cups. I like alot of ice as well. Not sure if we will just bring the refillable mugs we got on our last Disney trip last year or buy something else..HMMM not sure yet. But thank you for the info.

i think i will start saving my McDs large sweet tea cups for 2 months before we go so we have a supply of big styro cups. If they get lost or torn up no biggie,, otherwise I might be sad if I lost my Tervis tumbler

We took tall plastic cups with the lids and hard straws and used them exactly once. The cups they had at the soda bar were plenty big for us. I think they might have been 10 oz cups. The thing I wish I had taken was water bottles!

Thanks for all the comments so far! Keep em' coming!
I was thinking of this:

but I wonder if these would keep cold drinks cold, and if you can fit ice cubes into the top. Anyone use aluminum water bottles? The price of 2/$14 and the variety of designs is really tempting:cool1:

Your hands will freeze if you put ice in these, plus the opening is pretty narrow...you pretty much have to hand feed the ice in the top. Also, when not in use and you have more than one...they are loud when then bang into each other...they also don't keep things cold for too long....that is why I like an insulated beverage container.

They sell these at the disney store as well.

We are getting the quick service dining plan when we stay at WDW before we cruise, so we are going to bring our refillable mugs to use on the cruises.

My Dh goes to the gas station and buys those huge refillable mugs, almost like the big bubba from walmart it is 64oz.

I just bought a Tervis tumbler at BB&B today but hadn't really thought about bringing it on the trip. Hummm. I only got the 16 oz one tho. Maybe I should've bought the bigger one. :confused3 They seemed SOO big. I didn't see any Disney ones but they DID have some NFL ones & I thought about getting one for DH too (but didn't:rolleyes:). I will give it a try tomorrow to see how I like it.

I am so tempted to get another online....maybe one of the Disney ones in the large size. Not sure how much mine holds....standing side by side it is about the same size as the Venti cup but wider at top (tapered on the bottom to fit in a cup holder). It also holds about the same as the large Dunkin Donuts iced coffee cups.

When we found out in January that we were going on our first Disney cruise, we were in Target and found these:

Mickey/Minnie; Tinkerbell; and just Mickey Water Bottles, so we bought 7 of them...

They Don't use a straw (one less thing to clean), have a large opening for ice, and the 'rings' at the top are much like caribiners. My whole family is not doing an FE, just one cabin, so these are surprises for the other two cabins! We think we'll use them for excursions too if we need to!

Just one more thing to get excited about!:yay:

Thanks so much for the link. I LOVE these and especially since they have Disney ones and make your own. I think I will definately have to order these - both for our cruise and just to use them in general. Love that you can put them in the microwave also. Thanks again.

I have two of these and thought I would love them as they are Disney but what I do not like about them is every time you want something to drink you have to unscrew it. The kids version has a pull up top and it fits the adult size. I purchased a kids size at my local Disney store and swapped out the top. This makes it much easier to use.
