I'm loving this whole obsession with Spanish. It's a pretty awesome culture, might I add hahaha And I'm so glad I'm not the only one on the DIS who actually likes the Gran Fiesta Tour Also, the fact I've found another person who likes the Garden Grill. Can you say DELICIOUS?!? Hahahaha

The Gran Fiesta Tour was a MUST. I have the whole thing practically on my camera on video...no shame. It was actually my first visit at Garden Grill, and I LOVED it!

I never noticed that the D on the Walt Disney World Gates of Magic (LOL) was a different color than the others. I'm now suddenly interested in why that is Lucky you for having a room ready as soon as you arrive! That rarely ever happens. And I can't believe your friend doesn't like Stacy! Like when I was in Disney with school, my friends/roommates were making some really inappropriate cracks about her, but I don't think you can ever hate her. I actually found the Must-Do TV Spot of hers on YouTube. Stacy will always be there to give me a little piece of Disney while I'm home.

She does??? So good to know! I love her. People should not mock her! And I hadn't either, I wonder if the other D broke and they replaced and the other letters are just weathered. I have no idea, and it's going to bother me until I find out!

Great pictures in the photobooths! I really need to go check those out sometime, I feel like I've failed my part as a DISer Bad, bad, bad, BAD Timmy! Yeah, that's my name by the way hahahaha The food at Sunshine Seasons looks great, especially the strawberry shortcake or whatever that is LOL Awesome Goofy and Minnie photos at the Character Connection! I'm just confused as to why they would have Goofy with Minnie, not Mickey ????

Haha, I don't know what to tell you. The mouse must have been busy! They probably rotate, but I have no clue! Just my guess. And the strawberry shortcake was so good believe me! And oh my GOSH, TRY IT ASAP. I think the whole place is so precious haha

P.S. You said your from the northeast and I wanted to ask where in the northeast? I'm just curious since I live up in NH and I know very few DISers who live in this region. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to, but I'm just curious.

No My natural hair is this icky bumpy straight combo. I french braided it the night before and when I do that it comes out wavy like that and I love it.

That is such a good movie One time I was watching the movie with my mom (this was last year) my dad and brother had gone to get a ring so my brother could propose to his now fiancee. I always think about that whenever i see anything about the proposal.

the plane you arrived in looks so cool with the tv's in them. I have never flown on a jet blue plane which is probably why they seem so cool to me.

It's nice to see that my family is not one of the only families that takes a car when in disney.

I never noticed that about the disney sign.

I ALWAYS have to watch stacey when in disney. it feels weird to watch anything else.

Epcot is a great first day park isn't it? It always feels weird for me to not start or end at epcot for a trip. Also for you guys you have that special entrance so that makes it even better

I remember being on a massive hunt for the monorail shirt one trip because my mom really wanted it. at the time it was hard to find since it was new . luckily you found it easily

Dang, 4:30 am. Only for Disney would anybody get up that early That's so nice that you were there and in Epcot in a matter of hours! Woohoo!
But yay for stacy <3 I'm sad ana didn't love her as much as you But at least you know how special she is.
I tried to convert her, but she just wouldn't budge. But at least I got her to watch Phineas and Ferb. Because I have no idea how she has gone through life, especially with little siblings, and never have seen it.
I haven't been to Sunshine Seasons in a few years but I used to go all of the time... yum! I need to go back!

I'm a huge fan of the parent trap because I wish I had a long lost twin Only child... but all three are fabulous and deserve to be loved equally!

I might have a few of the boardwalk itself but not very many of the hotel, I can post them for you if you'd like at somepoint. I also have photos of the pool on my water camera. The Boardwalk is my FAVORITE! I love the atmosphere and the closeness to Epcot and MGM. I hope you love it

We usually fly southwest down to Florida, so it was a new experience for me to. Well I fly to Boston on Jetblue haha but I meant new experience of getting to Disney. It's a nice airline, the TVs are a really nice bonus...unless there's nothing on!

Same! Even people who drive with their own cars down there use Disney transportation I miss it.

"Your Lime Green Chariot Awaits!" ~ a WDW Family Vacation ~ July 2011 Trip Report
Chapter Three ~ "There's nothing half way, about the Iowa way, to treat you when we treat you which we may not do at all..."​

After a lovely afternoon at the Luna Pool, we showered and headed out to Magic Kingdom. I sported my brand new Monorail shirt, very excited to be ON the monorail for the first time in 2 years. What deprivation. Monorails should replace city buses and school buses. I'd be cool with that. Don't they have something like that in China? Right, right, back to Disney.

So here's my big problem with renting a car. You walk out to the car. Which the stairwell to the walkway to the parking lot was right across from our room, so that was nice...but it's 4 flights. You drive to the Magic Kingdom!...parking lot. And we ALWAYS somehow managed to just miss the parking spot at the end of the row, and we were the first people in the new row millions of miles (okay, 200/300 feet) away from the tram. You take the tram (And when you go BACK to the parking lot you have to stop and Minnie Mickey Pluto Donald Goofy and Grumpy and such and such...and we were always the last stop!). Then you're at the TTC. Then you walk up to the monorail...which we always missed. Then you're finally to the MK. I'd personally rather just take a bus and be right there I don't care how long we're on it. I get to sit down. Okay, I'm done complaining, but can't you see the downside? It has advantages too, but since we're visiting MK, it has downsides right now.

BAD NEWS. I'm wearing my Monorail shirt. And I did NOT hear the little spiel in Spanish. I was extremely disappointed. Luckily, I heard it on the way back and on every other trip on the monorail thereafter. PHEW! I thought they stopped playing it for a bit. It's such a Disney thing.

Once we got through the gates, we of course had to pause to take a picture in front of the train station. Note we have our sequiny Minnie Mouse ears on! We got them on the last trip and I LOVE them. They hurt my head after a while, but they're cute for photo opps.

Then we get through the gates. OH HEY! Photopass people. My mom needs to get a picture everytime we first get to a park for our "family photo". PS- she ruined the best one with her eyes being closed. And all of the options weren't very good this year. Ah, well.

The photopass guy wanted us to do a jump shot in front of the castle, so we did. We decided to jump after 3 (1,2,3,JUMP!), but Ana kept jumping on 3 and I was jumping on jump, it was a mess. It took us 4 tries to get it. But the final product is pretty good I think.

These next 4 pictures are taken right in a row. APPARENTLY when WDW opened, music from The Music Man was played in the park. I was just in a production of it, and during this next series of photos, "Iowa Stubborn" came on. Which was like, my favorite!!! And the title name of the chapter are some lyrics. Don't Iowa people sound so lovely? Not to offend and Iowa...onians. It's all exaggerated.

Clearly, I was shocked/excited. My face is seriously priceless.

Laughing. According to my friend Maria, this is a "classic Allie face". I apparently make the best faces. And people think I'm Italian because I talk with my hands...which I'm not

All better! I'm so glad my mom got all this on camera.

I want all four of those hung up in my room for future laughs.

We had 6:05 reservations at The Plaza. It's totally a hidden gem of the Magic Kingdom. We had no clue it even existed until a few months ago. And it's sort of hidden (on the walkway to the Tomorrowland Terrace if you don't know where it is) next to the ice cream shop! I'm shocked we've missed it all these years.

While we waited, we took a few more pictures.

We got called a little early. I looove when that happens. The restaurant is seriously tiny! It think the maxium occupancy sign said "63" or something crazy small. I forgot our waitress's name, but for some reason I had written in my trip journal "I think it's Tara", so we're running with that. They have FANTASTIC milkshakes, definitely get one if you can. I don't have pictures though Shame... However, I do have pictures of the meal!...I remembered halfway through. it was the first day and I was tired. I promise I'll get better!

Mom and I order cheeseburgers, which were delicious!

My dad got some...steak and corn thing? He really liked it, I remember. I probably should have been writing down the names of all the orders, but didn't. Something learned for next time!

And Ana got a tuna sandwich on a croissant! Which I had never seen before! It was really good, though. And a totally unique way of putting it together.

Tara commented on how tired we were, LOL. I didn't think we looked THAT out of it. She was very nice and sweet! During one point of the meal some random guy left the restaurant proclaiming he loved the staff, the food was excellent, "God bless, God bless!" ...okay? He had this black cap on and a long gray beard. He was also dressed a tad eccentrically, sporting a neon orange poncho looking thing... but I'm sure he meant no harm.

Review of The Plaza!
Orders: Cheeseburgers, Steak and Tuna Salad on a Croissant. Chocolate and Oreo Milkshakes as well which are yummy!
Server: Tara...or so I speculate.
Service: 5/5! Excellent! Our orders were perfect and our waitress was very on top of things.
Food: 5/5, no one had a single complaint.
First Visit?: Surprisingly, yes.
Go Back?: For sure!
Recommended?: I definitely do. But it was sort of small, it seemed to be more of an "Adult" Disney environment in my opinion, though.​

I have heard about that guy that came into your restaraunt before. I read another TR where the people were eating at the plaza and he came in. From what i read i think he is a regular like the teddy bear lady at the grand floridian. They are kind of like mini celebrities with in the resort. I could be thinking of someone else but from your description i think it is him.

No way! That's really weird. And it's really funny because a few days later we saw a picture of him on one of the caricature stands. I guess he's just a Disney Frump, which is A-okay with me!

Hello! I am 17 (but have a brother) I am loving your trip report! My whole family thinks I am crazy Disney world obsessed. Whenever I have freetime I am planning for another trip to Disney. I have gone 2 times, and am going in 2 weeks at Boardwalk. I just haven't updated my ticker! I am glad there are other people like me! Oh and Disneyfreak508 I have read your trip reports and also thought they were really cool! I wish my parents got more onboard with disney when I was younger, but I loved every trip I have gone on so far
