The BALD and the BEAUTIFUL are off to see SNOW WIPE again!! A Nov 2011 PTR! pic heavy

Being that this is a SURPRISE trip for my DD, I’m not going to be able to create a Countdown Calendar like I usually do. This is the only CON I’ve really run across so far?! It was always fun letting DD tear off a numbered Mickey from the calendar every night before bed. Ohhhh well, it will be worth it in the end.

I'm lucky my DH doesn't like to gamble, he keeps me grounded. If I didn't have him I'd be a crazy gambler. Even though I NEVER win.
Thank you...look for another one soon.

LOL, you may be safer never winning, then you don't get your hopes up!

Glad you found a nice hotel for San Diego, it looks great! And Casa Guadalajara looks crazy good! I love me some SD mexican food, handmade tortillas make me cry tears of joy.

The countdown calendar is so cute! I'm sure surprising her with your trip will be worth missing it though!

All your stops before you even get to Disneyland look like so much fun! It's been a few years since I've been to Vegas and I can't wait to go back. Hubby calls Vegas his Disneyland lol. So basically if I go to DL he goes to Vegas within a short time frame.

November 12th- Day 5

7:00 AM: Wake up
:sunny:

8:45 AM: Breakfast at Hotel. ((Free hot breakfast every morning)):woohoo:

9:30 AM: Leave Hotel

10:00 AM: Opening of Legoland

l13.jpg

I don’t have a detailed description of this day, as it is our first time ever going to Legoland. :confused3 I guess we’re just going to go with the flow and see where the day takes us. The park is open from 10:00 am- 5:00 pm, so that only gives us 7 full hours. Does anybody have any comments or suggestions when it comes to Legoland? Is there anything in particular that we should NOT miss?

Since the park closes at 5:00pm, we’ll be eating dinner at the hotel. Most likely we’ll order some takeout or maybe order a pizza? It’ll be an early night back at the hotel, but I’m okay with that. :thumbsup2 We need to conserve our energy for Disneyland. Does anybody have any suggestions on good takeout in the Carlsbad area?

Here is a link to the Legoland website:

http://california.legoland.com/

Thanks... Ive checked out the website several times, was just curious from peoples point of view what should or shouldn't be missed. I'm also aware that legoland is more for the kids then for husband and I, so I'm not expecting too much. Was just thinking that Reya would have a great time. I will have Sea World as a back up if we decide not to do Legoland for some reason.

Reya and I were discussing Halloween the other day and it inspired me to share some of my Disney Halloween pictures. We normally go around Halloween time and I’m going to miss not being able to this year. But I AM excited about finally seeing the Christmas decorations.

Ohhh! Casa Guadalajara!!!! That was one of my faves when I used to live there! :goodvibes Second only to Coyote Cafe, my school was next to Old Town and I would always walk over there for food.

Poker can be fun.

Will Reya be tall enough for any of the coaster at LL. They have long lines and I would do them first to get them out of the way.

Halloween is such a cute time! I love all of the giant candy corn.

Sorry, no advice on Lego Land, DH and I both love Lego though!

12:00 PM: Madame Tussauds
I LOVE the Madame Tussauds in Vegas, so I thought it would be cool to check out the one in Hollywood. The wax figures are so well done and realistic. I've been to one other wax museum in San Francisco and it was so horrible, but Madame Tussauds is pretty awesome. :thumbsup2

3:00 PM or earlier if possible: Arrive at hotel

We’ll be staying at

HOLIDAY INN at the
SANTA MONICA PIER

After we’ve checked in, we’ll go straight to the beach to hang out and play in the sand. Maybe take a dip or wade in the water? I’m mostly excited for the Sunset over the Ocean.:beach: We have some pretty spectacular sunsets here in Colorado. I love seeing the pinks and purples as the sun disappears over the Rocky Mountains, but seeing it on a sandy beach, while hearing the waves crashing is one of my favorite things on the planet earth. :cloud9:

Oh my goodness, it is sooooo yummy. Is Coyote Cafe near Casa Guadalajara? Maybe we'll try it.

I've never played Poker. My brother is a big player though. He just won second place in a poker tournament here in central city. Think he was 3,500.00. Should have him teach me. I just measured Reya she is almost 44 inches. So she's able to ride almost everything. Jayden on the other hand...... NOT! :(

Halloween is my favorite time to go. Maybe Christmas will be now?!? Guess we'll see?

Poker isn't too tough, if you are playing blackjack, or 21. Even 5 card like on TV isn't too hard, might try some practice hands.

For LL, I'd go right and switch with DH, so Reya can ride with you then him. While the other parent takes Jaden on the rides ok for really little kids. It's fairly close from ride to another that lets little ones on. There is a roller coaster to the left but it's a lot like Gadget's Go coaster so might skip that one.

The log ride is worthless. But I saw a good post that said if a child likes Splash Mountain they will yawn at LLs. That post probably applies to me too.

The miniland is nice and you walk through. I would save this for when line are worst(midafternoon). Or do what I did last time, do it when the rides close. When the rides closed I went to the back of the park and strolled slowly through the miniland with no hurry and less crowds.

The one thing that I really loved about LL, is a few of the longer lines, they have a place for the kids to play with Megablocks. Basically the line goes past it, you let the kids in the plane area. Then the lines comes back to the other side, you get your kids and wait the last 5-10 minutes to load. Much reducing the wait time for the kids since they spent the rest playing.

Awesome, thank you soooo much for your help. That is a great idea letting the kids play while you're waiting in line. That's one of my biggest worries with Jayden. The kid can't be confined to one spot for a minute without going crazy. Reya I'm not so worried about.

Great tips and info, I appreciate it.

I was going through the list of rides we want to do with Reya at DLR and I'm soooo thrilled that she's able to ride EVERYTHING except for Indiana Jones and California Screamin. Wooo Hoooo :woohoo: Now, is she willing to go on EVERYTHING..... probably NOT!! Will be intresting trying to get her one ToT, Space Mountain, and BTMR. :scared1:
