Counting Our Nuts Like Chip & Dale, a Financially Aware PTR *Update 4/17 Pg 62 *

Just signed up for yapta and found out I have a 25.00 JB voucher!! Thanks for the heads up on this thread!!!!!

Great ADR's, we're doing Narcoosee's and Yachtsmen too this time.

You're way ahead in this planning thing, I haven't even started thinking about clothes or packing lists.

Hey there, m'dear! Just got caught up. Here's what I have to add...

*SO glad you're renting points and staying at AKL! We loved it, BF especially. He wants to go back there "next time" ( :faint: ) but said he'd give in and try someplace new (I'm pushing for the Poly but we'll see). I will say that I made a room request and they had no record of it. I've heard that this resort is VERY particular about requests and mostly ignore anything having to do with location. I'd say leave it to Fate! They're all wonderful rooms. :goodvibes

*We tried WCC for dinner. For future reference, we got there when it first open and, because it was just the two of us, they tucked us away in a romantic table for two by the fireplace. It didn't get loud until we were about ready to leave, close to an hour later. It may be because it was later in the trip and we were a little tired or because it just wasn't our thing but we were "Meh" about it. I didn't like my meal.

*I'm in the process of planning my Super Secret Trip for next year (don't mention it on FB) and am likely paying OOP and going to use the TIW card. Based on the ADRs I'd like, (including CRT, a character meal and one other signature meal), it actually comes out cheaper than using DDP or DxDP! I think your dining plans sound great. :)

I can't wait to hear what you think about Yachstman and Narcoossee's. I haven't really thought a whole lot about clothes but I always forget things to pack as my trip gets closer and I want to avoid that this year.

I think I've only done a room request once and that was for Riverside because I NEEDED to stay in a mansion room.

I think depending on what you order that sometimes OOP is a better option. But again I think that depends on what you order and your touring style. I really want to go to CRT again but I can't bear to pay that price when I know I won't eat my whole meal. Ugh.

I don't like touring with groups of people either....I think meeting up at certain times for dinner etc is good, but even that I might find to be a pain if I don't feel like eating at that time/place, etc...!!

I don't know what I would do if my husband wanted to bring his extended family on vacation with us...YIKES!

You know, I've yet to try Kona. And it seems to be pretty popular with our DIS friends. Maybe next time.

I would NEVER steer you wrong! You know I heart me some Kona.
They have Tonga Toast (WITH the berry compote). Tonga! Tonga! Tonga!
They have the Lapu Lapu (or, sanity in a pineapple sans 151 floater).
They have Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes. Also called Nomapple Nomadamia Nom Nomcakes.
And they have those yummy wings I've yet to try but continue to drool over on the food porn thread(s).

I think I could handle the extended family (his cousins and some of the aunt and uncles) but my mil & fil.....:scared1: That doesn't sound like a fun time to me, we are just too different to vacation together I think.

Yes, Yes and Yes! :thumbsup2

I don't think there has EVER been an instance where I have regretted cheesecake. :lmao: Regretted not getting it but not the other way around. Though I will be honest, I do NOT like the tie dyed cheesecake at Pop, it freaks me out. I tried it once and never again.

Yes, I'm all about those wings. They look so good. I heard you can get them if you're having drinks at the bar, too. :thumbsup2

What did I miss?

Nothing. We were talking about traveling in large groups and I was talking about how Marc wants to do a trip with his side of the family someday and honestly the thought gives me hives. :rotfl2:

AH! I thought I was missing some change in plans! :lmao:

Traveling with family is hard. You know I've done it. I've got some great memories, but it can also bring out the worst in people.

Usually in Epcot. :lmao:

I have this fear that this PTR is going to become boring because our trip is pretty much planned out and we only have 177 days to go. ;)

I have actually started jotting down ideas for PTR updates on a piece of a paper, yes my list obsession has been taken to a whole new level. Some ideas so far are as follows....

*Trip Budget Description
*Packing List
*Shopping List
*Past Trips
*Countdown Calendar
*Park Must Dos

Not terribly exciting if you ask me. I actually had a flash of brillance this week, I've been doing a 30 Day Disney Challenge on Facebook and I decided to see what other 30 Day Disney Challenges were out in google land. I found a great Disney Parks one. Now, I'm not going to do this challenge in 30 straight days, I figure it will be nice to sprinkle throughout this PTR. I even found a couple of different ones so we might do more than one. So let's do the first day, shall we? (I don't have the link with me at work, but if anyone is interested I will post it since it is saved at home)

Day 1 - Your Favorite WDW Park

Marc & I have the exact same answer for this question. We both think that Magic Kingdom is our favorite park but Hollywood Studios is a very close second for both of us.

Marc likes Magic Kingdom for the reason that is a more nostalgic park for him. For me, I think it's just the atmosphere. Magic Kingdom is what Disney is to me.

Hollywood Studios to me is about the glamour of Walt's Hollywood. I wish I could go back in time and see what Hollywood was really like back then. Hollywood Studios is a close second for Marc because of the thrill rides, mainly Rock N' Roller Coaster.

I have a teeny obsession with the signs in Hollywood Studios. :rolleyes1 I hope you have enjoyed Day 1 of the Disney Parks 30 Day Challenge. I also hope everyone has a fabulous weekend, Marc & I are headed to Maine to rent a boat with my parents again like we did last summer. I really can't wait!

Have a great weekend in Maine!

I am confident that you can write enough between now and then. ;)

Signs, light fixtures...what's next? ;)

I love the Magic Kingdom, too. If I had to pick one park to visit, that would be it. I can't even really pinpoint why. It is Disney to me.

Oh no. This trip is Marc & I. Though we have invited my Mom along, we know my dad is hopeless. My mom seems interested but it might be a last minute addition. It drives me nuts but whatever, it will be great if she joins but if not we will still have a great trip.

Epcot seems to be the breaking point in a lot of people, Marc swears it is because it is mostly concrete. He calls it the concrete jungle.

Thank you!! I am so excited to get on the boat tomorrow and even better I think I have found a lobster pound right on the lake to get a lobster roll. My dad can drop me off and I can run in and get one for myself and whoever else wants one. So excited.

I always forget about the light fixtures now, don't get me wrong a pretty light fixture can still make me super happy but I don't take as many pictures of them as I used too. Maybe I will dig out some of my favorite light fixture posts or....oooh maybe I should have a light fixture contest! Maybe whoever posts the best Disney light fixture picture will win! Me likey.

Don't worry Leslie, you'll find lots to write about. You can't forget all the changes that come with making plans :rotfl2: I'm liking the 30 day Disney challenge. Good choice of parks too. MK is always top of the list for me. Reminds me of my childhood and will always make me feel like a kid again.

Didn't you get the memo? I am not making any changes this trip. :lmao: I can't change my resort because I'm renting points, my park days are perfect until we get down there and change them all around and the only ADR that I really want to add is Brown Derby and I'm confident I can add one at the last minute if we decide to go there. To be honest, I really want to add that one night so we arrive on Saturday instead of Sunday but I'm trying to be financially responsible but I do have a Birthday coming up with a husband who doesn't like to buy presents so maybe if a really good discount code comes out I will add a night at Pop Century. :rolleyes1

I agree with you on MK! It IS Disney!!
Epcot is my second choice. It's best broken up in two days or more, and not when it's hot!

Those pictures are so cool! I'll have to explore that site!

I am sure we can help keep your PTR going strong! We always find something to talk about!

Have a great weekend in Maine!! I wish I could get some fresh lobster!
