This still needs some finishing touches, it is not perfect, and it needs to be Disnified (?), but I love it and I did it all by myself:rotfl:

After looking at lots of pictures and watching some videos on youtube I thought I would give this a try. I am not very crafty, but I did it

Now can November come so I can use this already!:lmao:

Nice job! Can I ask how you did it?

I was afraid someone was going to ask this :rotfl:

I will try my best to explain :)

1. I cut out two strips of fabric... approx. 9" x 36"

2. I then cut out three pockets... approx. 13" x 9"

3. I ironed on interfacing to the pockets to make them a little stiffer

4. Fold over the top of the pocket 1/4 inch and hem with sewing machine

5. Fold in the rest of the sides and bottom of the pockets and just iron them down.

6. "Pleat the pockets" This involves folding it over about and inch and then fold it the other way another inch. *The second video I post is helpful. Iron them so they lay flat.

7. Place on one strip of fabric. Flip it over so the facing is against the facing on the strip and sew the bottom of the pocket. *Second video also helps

8. Flip pocket back over upright and sew the first layer of the pleat. Do not get the second layer. Do this to all of the pockets.

9. Sew the two strips together with the good side of the fabric facing each other. Turn it right side out. Then sew the top so you can fit your dowel.

*** The videos really helped me. I found it hard to follow written directions that people were writing.

Hope I have helped in some way ;)

Super cute! I just started working on mine tonight. Glad I came across your thread, now I need to go to the store and get some interfacing. Thanks!

Way to go! I have been all over the threads looking for specifics so I can try to sew one for our first cruise. This was helpful. Thanks.

Oh Mickey in his Wizard cloak & hat would look fabulous against that star fabric!:thumbsup2

Great Idea... Thanks:thumbsup2

I was thinking about doing the black silhouette of mickey's head with our family name on it on the yellow pocket which is for my husband and I. Maybe one of the girls will want the Mickey wizard on their pocket.:)

Really Cute!!! Your basic construction looks just like mine!
I "scrapbooked" inside of clear plastic pockets unique favorite characters for each member of the family, then sewed them on.
Here's some pics of the one that I made for our family;

It looks great! I really need to make one for our upcoming cruise, so I think I will have a go at this one! :)
