My biggest fear is that, now that they are all under the same "umbrella," WDW, DL and DLP will lose their individuality. The same tchotchkes, the same ideas repeated, the same...sameness. How long before they stop selling DL and WDW ornaments in favor of the same Mouse-Ear ornament with the year stamped on it? The same tees with a generic castle...or some kind of Belle/Sleeping Beauty/Cinderella morphed castle?

I'm trying so hard not to be pessimistic. Well, it worked for the resorts, right?

Maybe they're trying to give her soooo much responsibility that she won't be able to take it and decide to resign.

I don't think there is any doubt that this will only continue the unfortunate trend of homogenization of Disney Parks. It was under her control that it begain in the first place.

She is also known for her quick "no" to many proposed projects. Look how long WoL has sat empty for example. The "bottom line" people at the Walt Disney Company love this, but it's a nightmare for us Disney fanatics.

That's already the one they use for commercials, why not?

This is another example of "shareholders first, infrequent visitors second, and fans dead last". The only people who will notice everything being the same are the real Disney Geeks (like me) and we are but a small portion of the business. The family that takes a trip to a Disney park once every few years isn't paying attention to detail the way we are, but they bring in a lion's share of the revenue.

Last night there was all this thunder and lightening here, but no weather warnings. Odd. Thanks for the explanation. I'm afraid of thunderstorms, and I should have had the good sense to come here to check things out. Lesson learned!

this may not even be the half of it. There are posters on other message boards with very reliable records indicating a deal is in the works or possibly even done to sell the parks and resorts division to a 3rd party. not trying to incite panic, but these rumors are HOT out there right now.

I heard the same rumors about Chinese and Saudi investors meeting with the Disney Board of Directors about buying the parks and Diisney owning the franchise rights similar to Tokyo Disneyland. I could see them doing this with DL Paris, but to sell the U.S. Parks is unimaginable.

I fear this is the end for Disneyland the way it is. Shows will be scaled back to 2 nights a week, roaming characters will be a thing of the past, attractions will be shut down because there too expensive to run, every shop will only sell plushes and T shirts, paint will peel off every surface, rides will drop to pieces, jobs will be lost. I am honestly crushed inside, that this women now has a say about Disneyland. I know many people will say its ust a theme park, but it holds a special place in my heart. The investors want to buy something Disney then fine we sell them Meg croftin and Tom staggs instead. I will even throw in a used garbage can from wdw and they can have Duffy bear. Only hope the used garbage can value is not more then staggs and crouton would not want to get riped off we could always repaint the garbage can but can't retrain those two into running the company like walt wanted it. Or atleast put he guest first and profit second.
